My (long haired) cat and I are both shedders. A robot vacuum had been keeping the mess at bay, but after it conked, there were 2 very long weeks which saw the carpets of the flat getting hairier by the hour.Bought this on the recommendation of a friend and am delighted. With a household appliance. This is middle age, I guess.The floors were transformed, instantly. Dirt that the previous cleaner had only glanced at was pulled into the vacuum cleaner with ease. The small cannister needed a couple of empties during the first run-through, but since then it has been ample and I only change it after each complete clean now (though it would probably be fine for 2 or 3 uses).It's fairly dextrous - it gets into most nooks, under sofas, beds, between chair legs, and cleans right to the edges - so no build-up of cat treat crumbs nestled in the skirting boards.It is also relatively lightweight for its power. I have variable mobility (spine issues), so can only speak to personal capabilities here, but I find it pretty easy to move around, mostly due to the smooth 'steering' of it.The mechanism which prevents things getting tangled in the brush also seems to work really well- I've not had to untangle anything manually yet.Emptying it is also straightforward and easy.Suction is powerful enough that it has tried to swallow a couple of the smaller rugs.The only negatives are that it doesn't balance/stand on its own, and if I'm being really picky, I'd have liked a colour that isn't rose gold, but overall this has proven to be a great purchase.

What i have: small,old cottage,two fluffy indoor bunnies,one moulting dog,daughter with long hair,arthritis and strength issues( usual old age stuff)dense,close pile carpets.My previous vac( Vax airlift) was heavy and awkward to manage,however it could suck the foundations from under Stonehenge! On a day to day basis though,it was painful and exhausting for me to use for any length of time....hence the purchase of this Shark. This vac is light and so easy to use,no messing with the hose,easy to keep the small dust box clean,very small and easy to store. The down side, I find the suction does not fully pick up bunny fluff from the pile in my carpets, although it does a very good " surface" job. The anti hair thingy works very well,it's great for upholstery, stairs and rugs.Conclusion:I am going to get a new Vax air for a good deep hoovering each week,but do not regret buying this Shark at all,which i can comfortably use daily for all tasks.P.S I am not made of money,the Shark was on special offer,as is the Vax at the mo.

A little bit fragile but does it's job. Easy to clean the filters as well, and certainly pics up all the dogs hair my hound leaves behind. On the debit side it has a lot of separate things that slot together, and it seems quite fragile so definitely handle with care when hoovering. BTW I am disabled and I find the best thing about it is that you can cause a 'kink' in the middle pipe which bends it, ideal when you are working from a chair and need to get under the table, under cabinets and things with ease. Also very easy to disassemble, clean and stow away after use.Will need eventually to buy some replacement filters but Amazon do sell these.

Ok hear me out - this is hands down the best vacuum I have used given the specificity of my situation for several reasons listed below.1) The Anti-Hair Wrap - This is real. It works exactly as it says. I have 2 long haired dogs who shed like there is no tomorrow 365 days a year AND I have long hair that I shed too. 2 floors of my home are carpet covered. I have used many many vacuums, each time cleaning the brush, bristles, cutting the hair which is collected there which was so arduous but in case there isn't a single hair to clean on the brush. Absolutely fantastic! My mind is blown!2) Weight and Durability - I have back pain, meaning I cannot use heavy vacuums and needed a lighter vacuum which I could easily move up and down the stairs. This fits the bill perfectly. It is not super light, not super heavy, just weighty enough to feel strong and durable.3) Suction - This is a god send. It has pulled out more gunk from my carpets than I ever believed possible. I am Monica from Friends when it comes to cleaning my home and it is absolutely so so satisfying when I can see the volume of dust that has been picked up from carpets. The dust container is small for the size of my house but it truly does not matter to me, I don't mind emptying it repeatedly.4) The Bend-ability - I can easily reach under the couch, under the bed, I know this feature is not new to stick vacuums but a stick vacuum with this suction? It is amazing knowing that there are no lingering dust bunnies under furniture.5) Cord Length - I specifically chose the corded version because I genuinely believe the suction would be better. The cord is very long which is good. I don't keep to keep plugging and unplugging it for different areas.Overall, this product is just amazing. This is my second Shark purchase and the brand has not let me down. Absolute value for money!

So nice having a corded hoover again. It’s powerful, compact and doesn’t break my back taking it up the stairs. It comes apart into a little handheld hoover and the best part is the anti hair wrap technology. Extremely easy to empty the compartment and all the dust goes into one section and all the hair has neatly been span round a little cone so it’s easy to just drop in the bin! Such good value for money :)
