This is for the 8 gauge 16ft cables. While these are good for the job, thicker is always better. If you don't use these mush, and want something 'just in case', then these will do fine. These are not copper cables- they are CCA cables- copper covered aluminum. Aluminum has about 1/3 less current carrying capacity than copper, these will work fine, but they aren't as good as copper.

This set of jumper cables is absolutely solid. I have few comments but that's more nitpicking than anything of an issue. These cables come in a bag, which makes storage a breeze. It would be nice if the bag opened completely, but once the cables are rolled up, they slide into the bag easily. The set I picked was 4 AWG and 16 ft length. I felt this length was more than enough to connect 2 parked cars, even if they happen to be at a less-than-ideal positions. the 4 AWG was a good compromise between the cable resistance and the bulk/weight. As an emergency tool this configuration is more than adequate for my needs. The clamps are strong. Don't even think about testing the spring tension by sticking your finger in unless you desire a visit to an emergency room. Not only are the clamps strong but they also have good bite and make a solid connection to the battery post. I checked the termination of the wire onto the clamp, and it could be improved, but it is not bad. The cables are joined between positive and negative, and you can open it up more if you so desire. I feel over time they may split more, and I would like to see a sleeve to prevent that from happening. I would also like to add that the wires are reasonably flexible but not overly flexible especially at lower temperatures. The kit also comes with a pair of gloves, which I personally don't see very useful, and I ditched them already.

This set of jumper cables is made of such good material and quality that I don't think I'd ever need to replace it other than losing it. At thirty dollars this is really good value - much better than typical in this price range. It's flexible CCA, meaning it's very flexible and not as efficient as true copper but less prone to corrosion. Thick in cable gauge and the clamps are a good size for terminals or bars.

A couple nights ago in the cold I found my battery dead, then when the lights where left on by someone I found them dead again. This got me a jump and I made it to my destination before the car died in the driveway. The bag and gloves were a great help. The only thing I could really wish for if they had some protection, but these aren't those kind of cables so they are fine. I like the flat shape of the storage bag, which is great for behind the seat or in my rv storage. Very happy with this item, could really save you.

This is one of those things everyone should have…but usually don’t need ! This stands out and I with its thick cords shows how nicely it is made and how useful it will be. I do have triple A if my car doesn’t ever start but I hate wasting a service call on something so minor and would rather exhaust my options before calling them out. And not only that it’s nice to have on hand to help someone else who’s car won’t start and I can jump them . There was a time I prayed for someone to help me when 3 of my kids and I were stranded on the highway in the winter. Took an hour for someone to stop and help. I’ve never been without again . Got these to replace an older set and I’m very happy with the quality of this set , how easy it is to use and how little space it takes in my trunk ! Great value all around and would make a great gift for someone who thinks they have everything !

These came nicely laid out in a tote bag with see-through panel. I've had these for over 5 weeks now and finally got to use it this Monday under this crazy winter storm visiting our Texan town. My car was parked outside the office and upon the afternoon, don't know if it's battery age or cool temps, but my battery was low in charge. My coworker came over and gave me his car as the booster. So I hooked up this jumper cable to his car and voila, my car's back to life. This set is definitely a high quality set, thick cables, thick sheathing. Jaws are very strong and insulated very well. Bag is strong and appears to be well made. I'm so glad I have this stowed under my trunk space at all times. Perfect set, life saver. definitely recommend this set to anyone.
