I recently purchased the **Finger Math Toys** for my child, and it’s been such a hit! This toy is a fantastic way for my little one to engage with early math concepts in a hands-on, fun way. The magnetic beads maze allows them to manipulate the beads while practicing counting, addition, and subtraction, making math feel like a game rather than a chore. It’s a great tactile learning experience that also enhances fine motor skills. What stands out to me is the safety and durability of the toy. The beads are securely contained in a sturdy maze, so there’s no mess, and I don’t have to worry about small pieces getting lost. It’s built to last and can handle my child’s active play without any issues. It’s also a versatile learning tool. We’ve used it at home, and I’ve taken it to playdates and preschool—it's compact and easy to carry around. Plus, it really helps develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills as my child strategizes how to move the beads to meet their math goals. This toy makes for a perfect educational gift! It’s an engaging way for kids to explore math and encourages a love for learning. I’m excited to see how my child continues to grow with it!

Sadly, I think this is another toy that will receive very limited play time. It’s well made, and attractive, and at first glance, appears to have enough activities to keep a child active. . But it is definitely NOT a play alone toy, and not for 3 year olds, as advertised. The magnetic beads are awkward to move. If your child has low frustration tolerance, it won’t be much fun. It does promote counting over and over to make sure you have the right number of beads. Not sure how long they’ll care to finger count the addition and subtraction facts at the top, and they have to add low numbers only as once you get past 4+5….well you see the limitations. Cute toy, but the interest won’t last long.

This is a fantastic educational toy for young children. My toddler loves playing with the colorful magnetic beads while learning basic math skills. The hands-on matching and sorting activities keep him engaged, and I can already see improvement in his counting and early addition/subtraction understanding. The quality is great for the price - sturdy beads that stick well and don’t fall apart. It’s simple enough for any little ones to enjoy, while still being challenging enough to grow with them. As a parent, I appreciate how it makes learning fun through play. Perfect for home or classroom use. Definitely worth buying if you want an interactive, screen-free way to build early math skills. My kids ask to play with it daily and don’t even realize they’re learning! Highly recommend for ages 3-5.

PROS: Firstly, let me say it's a cool idea. I was excited about gifting it. It helps kids connect the concrete idea of counting/touching physical objects with the more abstract concepts of what it means to add, subtract, and have a symbol signify a specific quantity. I also love the sensory experience of manipulating velcro hands/fingers and the use of magnets. The colors are nice and the build quality is decent (not great, not terrible). CONS: The execution of these ideas is lacking. The cards only offer prompts adding/subtracting amounts of 5 or less on each side of the board (left and right hands). I understand that 5 on each hand is all the velcro hands are capable of reaching. But this seems to rule out the idea that kids can use their own hands (or parents' hands) to count the additional numbers. For example, a card showing two left hands totaling 7 fingers plus two right hands totaling 2 fingers prompts the kid to add 7+2=9. The number tiles go up to 10. So why impose such a limitation with the cards? Additionally, the magnetic balls/wand are too small, even for little hands. You can't grab just one ball at a time. You end up picking up two or three at a time. I can say with complete certainty that unless your kiddo is capable of sustained laser focus attention for extended periods, precision with fine motor skills, and has a high threshold for frustration, separating and moving the balls into the correct slots one or two at a time will absolutely be a deal breaker for them. I'm grown and it was frustrating to me! I get that a kid could just have fun moving any ball to any slot, but the color coding is specifically designed that way, ostensibly, to teach matching quantities with colors with symbols for numbers. I did finally get them all sorted, except for one or two. They're permanently stuck in the corner where the plexiglass is too tight against the wood (see video). I managed to dislodge them by banging very hard on the side, only for others to roll right back to that spot and get stuck again. I understand that may be an isolated issue specific to the board I received, but still. Lastly, why is there no built in compartment for storing the number tiles and cards? I understand this toy is meant to be used as a learning aide and for supervised play, so an adult is likely to be present to retrieve the pieces from whatever cubby they're stashed in. But not having its own storage system means these small pieces are highly likely to get lost/separated and render the top of the board useless. Seems like a huge oversight and one that could be remedied easily. Ultimately, I should have paid more attention to the fact that every review so far is labeled "Reviews of a Free Product". My review is not. I paid $24 for this item as a gift for my nephew whose parents requested "educational toys only" for his birthday. While this concept certainly meets that criteria of being educational, I am not impressed with the quality of what I received, especially at this price. I would feel better about it at a $14-16 range and would likely keep it. However, I have already ordered something else that I hope will arrive in time and will likely be returning this one.

I ordered this for my 5 year old and she loves it! She is practicing her math and doesn’t even know it. Her favorite part is the magnetic counter. I am waiting for her to perfect it before I start guiding her to do the addition part. She gets bored with that and starts to play with the magnetic part again. It comes with a baggie of random addition and subtraction problems as well as a baggie of numbers for the math problems. Great toy for kids who are learning math! Great price for such a fun and valuable toy.

My 5yo son is currently learning subtraction in school and finds the subject challenging. He is a very concrete thinker, so having different visuals when adding and subtracting helps him. You receive everything you see advertised, and the board is nice and solid with a substantial plastic cover. The numbers are double-sided. I was concerned I was missing some tiles but realized that they have different numbers on each side, ranging from 1-10. And the plus-minus signs are also double-sided. I love the flashcard problems they come with so your child can practice if they are not using the board as a homework helper. The main reason I got this was for the counting fingers at the top. When the board arrived, the hands were upside down with all the fingers closed. When I pulled the hands up to the position you see in the advertising pictures, the hands became a little loose and remain loose. It can be difficult to attach and detach the fingers when the hands are moving from side to side. That's the only reason I deducted a star was because it takes the ease out of finger-counting. The color matching beads are a little strange. I get that its extra counting practice as well as color matching, but I think they could have used another activity in that area. Overall I think this is a great learning tool for those being introduced to math. For school or home, I think this can help little learners become a math wiz!

This is a pretty cute math learning toy. My preschoolers favorite thing is to put the little beads into the number spots. There are the exact number of colored beads for the corresponding colored number. For example 10 light pink beads for the 10 spot. The downside of this is that some of the colors and therefore beads look similar. Like the 4 and 8 are both light blue. There are also 3 shades of pinks and 2 shades of purple. It can get confusing. The felt fingers are easy to attach and pull off. It definitely gives a visual aid to math that I think my preschooler is responding well it. Overall, it’s a decent quality though maybe a tad pricey. I would still recommend because of how functional and fun it is.

Overall its a very good toy for kids to learn numbers and basic math skills, other than the magnet not wanting to hold the metal beads securely enough as my daughter trys to move it fast it consistently drops the beads ive tried it and moving extremely slow it works fine but in sure with most children it is far to slow of a pace. So we have just been using the finger system when she gets frustrated with the magnetic beads. Its colorful and caught her attention immediately after opening she plays with it everyday im sure when im not around its in a different than intended use but kids will be kids lol. The value for the price i believe to be very much a great deal and the size makes it great for even a small apartment as it doesn't take up much space.
