Benefits Chicken flavor that pets enjoy Formula is easy to digest Lasts for 30 days after opening if kept refrigerated Review: Excellent. Worked for my sick 17 year old cat. - Excellent product. My bottle came with light yellow, clear liquid. Kinda smelled like funky citrus, but ok. 5 stars because it actually worked on my cat. 17 year old cat was lethargic and not eating. Nothing wrong on her tests but I was worried. After one full dose, 24 hours later, she came back to life and very hungry again. I bought 5 ml syringes, as she does not like taking any medicine in her food or water. I give her 1 ml of liquid three times a day = 3ml total. Donโt follow bottleโs instructions for a cat. Itโs meant for dog size. Itโs a big bottle and expires even in fridge after 30 days, so I followed another reviewerโs advice, and poured some in small empty water bottles. Then put them in my freezer, so I can defrost what I need in the future if she gets sick again. Highly recommend. Review: I am amazed how fast this worked! - This Pet-a-Lyte works great! My pup was on a medication for UTI. After being on the medication for over a week, it started making her throw up. My vet did not believe it was the medication that was upsetting her stomach. Even though I did read that that particular UTI med can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea plus I have 2 other dogs who's on her same routine except for the UTI med and they were not sick at all. I took her off the medication and she continued to throw up 4 more days. After that many days of vomiting and being a mom, you think she needs some electrolytes. I read the reviews and gave this product a try and after 1 full day of giving her the pet-a-lyte as directed, she stopped throwing up! It has been 4 days today of her not vomiting. I couldn't find how long she could be on this product at a time but we wanted to keep giving her the pet-a-lyte for at least a week to be sure. I am very satisfied and amazed with this product and highly recommend it to anyone with a sick pup.

This is only my experience with my dogs, but every dog is different.
Neither of my dogs would go near this product. Yet, I bought a flavorless and much cheaper one at my local grocery store that they love so much it is on the same level as treat status. The quality is not here with this product. Both dogs took a smell and backed off as if it were poison. It was not effective. Just a waste of money. However, each dog is individual and has their own taste preferences. One dog is a 12 year old chocolate lab and the other is a 4.5 year old American Pitbull Terrier, so the age/energy/health had nothing to do with it, but again, this is just my experience. I ended up wasting money. It comes out as this yellow, gross looking almost thick kind of liquid that doesn't seem edible. I'm sorry, but I personally ended up wasting my money. This review is in no way meant to insult the company or its employees who probably work hard to make quality products. Unfortunately, this one fell short and I'm only saying that if you go to the big blue store and find an off brand in a white bottle similar to the white glacier color of another electrolyte drink, you'll find what I consider to be a much easier and better product for the dogs. As far as my research and vet has explained to me. Water is still the best choice, but due to the elder dogs health condition, I'm forced to use some form of this kind of drink to keep him hydrated. Just not this one. And, my rambling is done. Apologies to anyone who took the time to read it because your dog may love it.

Diabetic cat
I ordered this for my Diabetic cat 13yrs as been diabetic for 18months get 3 units insulin twice daily. He went into DKA Diabetic Ketoacidosis I took to my vet next day and they kept doing subcutaneous fluids under skin every day for 3 days, it only helps for 12 hours. Started on Pet A Lyte as soon as I got it, gave 3ml by syringe every 3 hours, also diluted in his water, that night and early am he did not urinate all night long or hold his head for hours in water bowl. Next morning I was able to syringe feed urgent care pate, this has made a big difference in his DKA which usually requires hospital for cat and three to five thousand dollars and he is not nausea's when feeding. So far so good this is day 2. Very easy to use with syringe for cat, cost is much better then paying for fluid injections from vet daily. So far it's working and is effective for what I need. Cat takes with syringe doesn't mind taste. No diarrhea.

Confused but maybe progress with my method
I was concerned and also confused when I read the directions. I have an outside stray that is really dehydrated and won't drink. Been stringing him watery wet food with lots of water mixed in. As u know this is very dangerous because they can choke so easy. It says 3-4 Oz several times a day. Is that for real? I foster dogs and cats and that's insane. Plus there isn't getting that much liquid in a cat. I would be here all day or I would either choke my cat. I did read the lady's comment above. I agree. Tha k fod she's good at math. The watered down food is easier to syringe him because it's thicker and he can control it better In his mouth. I received this stuff last night. He usually eats about 40-50 ml of food 3 or 4 times a day. So I added equal part water, this stuff, and rebound. Rebound is the name of a thick liquid that has all the nutrients ur pet needs from the water plus other healthy vitamins. Anyway. I thought we were going to lose this little guy the other day. Major constipation which I gave an emema type thing and helped him with the plug. Gave a laxative gel I bought the day before. It worked great and now his poops are nice and soft but formed and he's not pushing do hard. Hes so weak an tired from that that he lays a lot and has just been peeing and pooping laying down. No Interest or every to move to his pad to do his business. Decides to buy this stuff. What could I lose. Don't mention that I should take him to a vet because I did, 3 times. He has FIV and got blisters in his mouth and I received the norm or antibodies. I asked for the dub fluids because he had quit drinking. He got better and was eating on his own then on day he started stumbling and not eating or drinking. I called the vet and asked for ear drops because his head was tilted and he was unbalanced. He started getting better but never ate or drank by himself so I have been syringe feeding wet food watered down. I asked for a refill and they told me no and I needed to bring him in. That's the way they do it even if it's a med they have prescribed already. I spent over 1400 in 5 weeks and told them I couldn't afford it right now and they still wouldn't. So I'm stuck fighting for this baby and figuring out how to rehydrate him. So I fed him several times with my mixture yesterday and up till about an hour ago. Remind you he was not sta ding up and moving to the pad to do his business and just ,getting it go right there. He has to be fed and watered by syringe, but he does allow me to. He stayed in my roommates bedroom because she has like a little apt set up with an outside door. We have the other babies ans he's FIV so we have to protect them as well as him. I have a noonie cam i1n her room watching him and I wat he'd him walk from the dig bed to his little cage! He stumbled like crazy but he a tally was able, and wanted to, stand up and walk 5 feet to another location. I don't know if it has anything to do with his stuff or not but I wanted t leave a comment about that. It's a big deal. I'll get on in a couple days and update. So tne amount I'm giving him is approx 2 or 3 mls blended in a half can of wet food along with the water and rebound about every 4 hours. I'll take a ml to him about every hour or 2. So he probably consumed 30 MLS of the rehydration fluid in 16 hours which is about an Oz it believe. I'm just glad he's feeling better.
