Useless. Just use a sharp knife.
This was absolutely and totally useless. Most of the carrot potatoes just ended up on the floor rather than in the tub. It went straight in the recycling bin and I’m just gonna use a sharp knife from now on.

Good mandolin
I use this new mandolin for Christmas dinner to slice potatoes for gratin. I found it a little clunky to operate, but slice the potatoes beautifully. A word of warning about how sharp the blade is. When one of the slices got wedged under the blade, I barely touched it to try to push the potato down into the base and cut my finger. Very painful and bled quite a bit. Not the way you want to spend Christmas Day with a bandaged finger. Product works well, and I am generally pleased with it.
