This surprised me very good build and quality. The light kit is an excellent touch and brings the ship to life. I got this when it was on sale for £50. Now looking at other kits

Good kit and c/w Lego good value. Some pieces not as tight a fit and the rear deck in particular needed the help of some glue to provide stability. That said there were no missing parts and the instructions were very reminiscent of the leading brand and easy to follow. You do need nippers or a craft knife for the rigging but the block tool and the tweezers provided are very useful. The lights give it the wow factor. Note Lego Pirates of the Caribbean figures in pictures are not included but installed for effect.

I'm giving this ship a five star rating even though it hasn't been built yet. Its an easter gift for my son who is really into lego sets but when I looked for the lego black pearl it was ridiculously expensive so, when I found this one and the other ratings on it are all great I said I'd give it a go. It looks great and it's nice and big so hopefully it all works out well.

Overall very good. A good detailed build with clear instructions. Excellent value for money. Only negative is that some bits of build very fragile but won’t stop me buying brand again!

Tricky thing to build but enjoyed doing this could do with extra pieces per pack incase needed nice ship when built

Really enjoyed putting the ship together until I found multiple parts missing and for the amount I spent there should not be parts wrong sizes and missing in this set very disappointed. I bought both and after this I will be sending the other one back.

The only thing you really want to know is, are the bricks as good as Lego bricks. I would say almost. the tolerances are good enough that the final product fits together well, but some of the fittings are tight or loose. There are some connections that will pop off if bumped, but no more than would happen with a Lego set with the same connection. The bad? My set was missing 2 pieces and it took more than a month to get the replacement parts. It's not as easy as with Lego just telling them you had missing pieces. There's no inventory at the end of the book or part numbers to reference. You have to take a picture of the instructions, circle the piece you're missing and let them know how many you are missing. Worst of all you have to provide an order number, I guess to prove you bought the set and aren't just looking for some free parts. I can see getting this set as a gift and having a really hard time if the set was missing pieces. I would have given it 4 1/2 stars for the hassle of getting replacement parts, but for the value it's well worth it. I did order the bigger 40103 JMBricklayer Pirate Ship Building Sets and had 2 broken pieces and 2 very warped pieces that made the ship not go together, warped because of the tight packaging. I guess if they replace those parts with no problems it will determine if I shop from them again, but 2 sets and problems with both is not looking good.

We all know that Lego is great but overpriced. And we’ve all tried knock-off kits with horrible instructions. This is the best build I’ve ever had from *any* manufacturer. It’s difficult, yes, as any complex design will be. But the instructions are great, and all the little details set this apart. Once finished, you can barely see the captain’s quarters…yet it is still filled with extra details like a parrot and sextant. There is so much attention to detail, like the elegant “turnbuckle-look” design on the mast support timbers. JMBricklayer has earned an enthusiastic follower.

Très beau bateau, les briques sont de bonne qualité même si parfois elles sont plus difficiles à assembler. Le mode d'emploi est très bien fait. Plusieurs heures de construction. Il n'y as pas de minifigurine mais j'ai pus mettre celle que j'avais.
