Bass. Yes, ACTUAL bass.
I've been down the 'Open Ear Design' rabbit hole for a while now, and there's two things you notice right away - since your ear canals are (hopefully) wide open... The sound is like a Bluetooth speaker invisibly floating in space that only you can hear. Pretty cool. Oftentimes, though, that magic Bluetooth speaker seems kinda gutless. Not so cool. Because of this limitation, I have tried to spend my way into something with genuine punch... And this one smokes them ALL. Regardless of price. I finally have the kind of bass response I can live with in a form factor I can reasonably forget about all day. They're on right now because taking them off makes no sense. The damn battery lasts 11 HOURS. PER BUD. No obstruction at all - I can use a Qtip with them on. It's fantastic. And the lows are REAL - usually open ear designs deliver low frequency sound the way sparkling water delivers the taste of fruit - barely enough to notice. Not these. Real fruit juice this time. Could they use a few extra features? Kinda yeah, especially for this price point. I also have a pair of Cleer's Arc 3 Sport open buds (every feature you can imagine but roughly 100 bucks more) - and I would really like to see the Shokz support LDAC, Hi-Res Audio, Dolby Atmos, and at minimum a more detailed EQ setup (5-band feels outdated, like a Sony Walkman from the 90's) - but the Shoks still sent those Arc 3's to the junk drawer by getting the basics absolutely PERFECT - fit, controls, sound quality are all in a class by themselves. If they ever roll out a Snapdragon Sound version of these with all the audio features and a case with a display, It's game over for the competition in the entire category. Multipoint works fine. It's a feature you didn't know you needed until you have it. I come home with these on (paired to phone), leave them on, then turn on the living room TV (also paired) and watch something too grownup for my little kids because I'm the only one hearing it. Dad Mode. Fit is impressive - they are comfortable, low profile, extraordinary secure (I can't imagine an activity outside of Jiu-jitsu or boxing that would dislodge them) and play nicely with both glasses and hats. Sound quality is excellent, and boy am I a snob about that. Actually, I would dive right into the custom EQ and draw a bass-biased Harman curve and tinker with it a little - then it really gets a chance to deliver. This little device uses a dual driver (essentially a speaker and subwoofer in miniature) setup so there's a lot more headroom before distortion creeps in - the arch enemy of open ear designs. In summary, yes these are $180 earbuds... and they are worth every dime, in fact punching above their weight at that cost. I recommend you believe the hype and spend the money. You won't regret it.

Wish I could give more than 5 stars!!
I was wanting to replace my Airpods 2 with something a bit more secure and connection friendly. I ordered some Airpods 4, but after phone calls to Sony and Apple, it was deemed that they were incompatible with my Sony NW-A55 mp3 player. They were also incompatible with my spouse's Sony NW-A45. I was really taken aback as the player is only 4 years old and already incompatibilities are arising. Shame on Apple for allowing this. So I went with my second choice. I can't wear regular, in the ear earbuds, as I can't get appropriate seals. So I looked at various open ear models. I discovered the Shokz OpenFit 2's during my research but was leery about they fit. I decided to give them a try and was I pleasantly surprised. I have had them about a week, so here are my impressions. First, the fit. It's a little bit of a learning curve to put them on, but after a few tries, it's easy. Just turn them around the ear until they are in place. I was expecting them to fit over the ear canal but they actually sit a bit higher. I seemed awkward at first but I got used to it very quickly. And once on, they are very secure. And comfortable. I don't even realize I have them on. I wear glasses and had no issues. Second, the sound is very good. While I am not a real technophile, the bass and treble both come through. You can change the equalizer in the app or create an equalizer of your own. Very easy to do. And although not true noise cancelling, they really knock enough of the outside noise out to make listening very enjoyable. You can hear subtle outside noise, which is good if jogging or running with obstacles around. Thirdly, charging is quick, took a little over an hour. I have had them in for probably 10 hours and still have a 70% charge in the case. Fourth, the onboard buttons. They are easy to use, just a little learning curve again, trying to remember what one press does, 2 presses, etc. But they work fine. Nice to have volume controls on my earbuds! And finally, the connection. That was an issue with my old Airpods 2. Getting a connection was easy but I suffered constant connection breakups, especially when doing more active things with my old Airpod 2's. With the Shokz OpenFit 2, I still get fast connection and not a single connection breakup, even when playing basketball. It's amazing and so enjoyable!! In summation, these earbuds are terrific. I had never heard of Shokz before and am very happy I purchased them. Wish I could give them more than 5 stars!

Worth Every Cent - The Best Earphones for Comfort, Clarity, and Real-Life Living
I am completely sold on these Shokz OpenFit 2 earphones. After many months of mostly continuous use for both work and play, my appreciation for them has only increased. At this point, my Shokz are as essential to my daily life as my phone — I don’t go anywhere without them. I bought my first set in August ’25 and immediately bought a second because I knew my husband would steal mine. I was not wrong. His are now just as permanently attached to him as mine are to me. These are incredible tools for so many reasons. The biggest attraction for me is comfort. I have serious insomnia and often fall asleep listening to calming music or recordings, so I needed earbuds that wouldn’t hurt my ears. Traditional earbuds are impossible for me — anything in my ear canal causes my sinuses to clog painfully, and that can spiral into a migraine. When I saw the open-ear induction design on these, I knew I’d finally found my solution. They sit outside the ear, feather-light, with no pressure and no discomfort. The design meets every one of my needs. I also need listening power that won’t interrupt my husband’s work or sleep. We are often on opposite schedules, so having sound that doesn’t leak out into the room is essential. Quick charging and long battery life are also must-haves for me. I need something I can rely on to be ready whenever I need it. Where Shokz truly shines is in allowing me to hear my surroundings while still hearing my audio clearly. As a mom to a disabled child, I cannot miss it if she calls for me or if a machine alarm sounds. I also need to be reachable at all times. These earphones let me stay connected to my world instead of shut off from it. My husband uses his set for hours of Zoom meetings during the day, and all of his entertainment in the evening is online. He needs comfort, clarity, and enough noise control to focus — but he also needs to hear our family when we talk to him. For two people on different schedules sharing the same home and workspace, Shokz checks every box. I can watch TV, listen to my audiobook, practice guided meditation, or enjoy African drumming without disturbing him — and he can lead a seminar or watch action flicks with enormous explosions without waking me. It’s peaceful coexistence, courtesy of Shokz. Plus, they’re waterproof! These are some of the most comfortable earphones I’ve ever worn, and the sound quality is fantastic. The audio is full, rich, and clean. Their app offers an easy-to-use equalizer, but honestly, the default settings sound great for most things. Setup took less than a minute on both my phone and my TV. And yes — the bass is real. If you want to hear the full range of your music, not the flat, bass-less sound so many wireless earbuds produce — and if you want comfort, clarity, awareness, and reliability — I strongly recommend these. Recommend: 5/5.

Comfortable, Clear, and Perfect for Staying Aware
These SHOKZ OpenFit 2 earbuds strike a great balance between comfort, sound quality, and practicality—especially if you need to stay aware of your surroundings. 👂 Truly Comfortable for Long Wear Thanks to the open-ear design, I can wear these for hours without any pressure on my ear canals. The flexible ear hooks rest gently and stay secure—even during workouts. Page 2 highlights their ergonomic build and featherweight design (just 8.7g per earbud), and I can confirm: they’re barely noticeable once on. 🔊 Clear Sound, But Not for Bass Lovers The OpenBass™ Air tech delivers a surprisingly full soundstage considering these don’t go in your ears. Vocals and podcasts sound crisp, and even calls come through clearly. That said, if you're after punchy, booming bass, these won’t give you that. As shown on page 5, they're tuned more for clarity and balance than depth. 🔋 Excellent Battery Life and Fast Charging I’ve been getting around 7–8 hours on a single charge, with a total of up to 28 hours when you include the case. The fast charge feature (1 hour playback from just 5 mins) came in handy more than once (page 4). 🧠 Perfect for Multi-tasking and Outdoor Use Because your ears stay open, I feel safe running outside or listening while working at home. The AI noise-canceling mics also help a lot during Zoom calls. ✅ Pros: Incredibly comfortable open-ear fit Clear and natural sound with stable connection Great for calls and multitasking Long battery life + quick charge ❌ Cons: Bass is limited (not for EDM fans) Some sound leakage in quiet environments Overall: If you're looking for all-day comfort, solid sound, and situational awareness, these are a great investment. Just know that bass heads may want to look elsewhere. Great for active lifestyles, work-from-home, and outdoor use.

Almost perfect for sensitive ears and daily workouts!
I’ve owned several pairs of SHOKZ over the years, and the OpenFit 2 may be what I’ve been looking for. The jury is still out for a few weeks. I suffer from skin reactions in my inner ear and cannot wear standard earbuds, so it has been a long journey trying to find the right fit. I am fairly confident these may finally be "the ones." Sound & Features: The sound quality is great for basic, everyday use. I’m not someone who needs fancy Dolby features or wireless charging; I primarily use these for workouts and quick walks around the neighborhood, and they perform beautifully. Fit & Build: If I have one minor complaint, it’s that SHOKZ seems to design their headphones for larger frames/men, so they don’t fit me perfectly snug. However, the material they use is excellent—it "adheres" to the skin just enough that I feel totally secure. I never worry about them falling off during a workout. Portability: extremely lightweight, chargeable usb-c case, nice little pouch. Nothing to complain about. Value: I think the price is fair, especially when compared to higher priced brands such as Bose, etc. Volume control: I haven't played with this too much yet or figured it out but will update this review later. The app though looks to offer plenty of options for volume controls. It's a matter of learning and muscle memory, it seems. The Bottom Line: If you appreciate bone conduction or open-ear tech because you can't (or won't) put things inside your ear canal, these are a fantastic choice. They are comfortable, reliable, and skin-friendly.

Absolute love, better battery, fit a bit snugger for my small tiny ears which is great!
I've been wearing Shokz Open Fit for years - since they came out. I love them and use them daily. I'm a long distance runner - half/marathon/ultras. These fit well for walking, running, and just doing chores and listening to audiobooks. They fit my very tiny ears and do not fall off. I find them easy to put on and easy to use. I do not use the taps to change songs or volume and all that - I just use my phone (I'm old school that way). The only issue I had with them is the sound was not very loud though the quality was pretty great with the mic as well. The color is ok but I would love a more muted color that is not black or tan - maybe a dark blue. Just to be different. I set my volume controls on the app as it was easier (and switch between the varieties as needed). The two things that were bothersome occasionally is they did not last for my ultra marathon - there simply wasn't enough charge to go much past 6 hours. So I would have to bring my second pair with and swap out. It's a minor issue but one that drove me to purchase these new one's hoping for better than the Open Air that have terrible battery life. So far these are much better - they seem to hold the charge better and they definitely last longer. I am super hopeful they can go a 7-9 hour ultra with ease. The other issue I had was occasional connectivity issue - where there was a cut in and out. It tended to happen for me around areas that I suspected had more signals (I live near a port) but there were many times where I had to reconnect or tap my phone to make them work. Not sure if that is the phone or the shokz. So far, on these new ones, I haven't used the buttons. I am slightly irritated at their position as getting the headphones out of the case had me hitting the control's which was not a great experience. When they are on that seems to work well but honestly I don't use it often. My big push for these is 1. I lost my black openfit's at my last half marathon and 2. better battery life. The latter the most pressing issue. So far, so good and I highly recommend! These have been a Godsend for me as I run all over, in all sorts of areas good and bad, as I travel and I have to be aware of what is around me. It's not negotiable and I cannot and will not wear ANC devices because of that. These are so very perfect for me!

Will not shut off outside charging case
I needed a new pair of earbuds and usually find in-ear buds uncomfortable after a period of time, so I decided to get the Shokz Openfit 2 since they were rated well. They are light weight and very comfortable. The sound on them is ok depending on what I am listening to. Some things like podcasts seem muffled, but less so in the vocal mode. The mode is easy enough to change between Standard, Vocal, Base Boost, Treble Boost and custom, but you have to have the case open to do so or the app is greyed out except showing the battery life of the headphone I am using. I am disappointed that the headphones cannot be turned off except when placed in the case to charge. It is my understanding that a battery should not be charged after every little use. I try to extend my play time by using one headphone at a time. Unfortunately when I come in the next day the headphone that was over half charged when I left work is about dead. Some people may be ok with using both headphones and charging them every night, I am not. For this reason I would not purchase these headphones again.

The best testimonial for comfort
I bought these for my wife, Sharon. She listens to podcasts at night in bed. One morning we searched in and around our bed for 15 minutes. She thought she lost one of the ear buds. We finally found it. Around her ear, where she’d put it 12 hours ago. Is it comfortable? In my wife's case, almost annoyingly so. It also delivers great sound and next month it will be a year and the battery has stayed pretty much the same. And she uses it every night. I know, it sounds like they're paying me to say all this. They should, but they don’t. After using a handful of their products (five, total) I can't say anything bad. Really. Buy these and try them. If they aren't comfortable, if you aren't using them after a week, send them back and try a different pair. When you find something this comfortable -- so comfortable you might forget you're wearing it -- you use it. And when you use it, you listen to way more music and spoken word content than ever. It's really a great way to enrich your life. But you won't do it if it's hard to do and it doesn’t sound that great. The right ear buds deliver all that. But you won’t know until you put them on, see if they’re comfortable, find out if you’re actually using them AND you’re actually enjoying yourself. If these aren't it, keep looking. You'll find the right pair. And it's worth it. Really.

Excellent product
Perfect alternative to my Shokz open run fit headphones. Good quality and sound, perfect for hearing noise around you but not spoiling the sound quality of the music. They are a bit on the large size for my ears but have not come off on a run. They pair easily with my Pixel phone and Macbook so no issues with android or iOS. Nice charging case with its own little storage bag so good for travel. Battery life is excellent and seems to last several days but not really monitored it properly. Sound and clarity is excellent but can still hear your surroundings. Would definitely recommend them

Used every day for a year - still Amazing!
I bought these headphones as a gift almost a year ago, and I honestly have to say it was probably one of the best gifts I’ve ever given someone. They’ve been used every single day for the past year, and the person I bought them for absolutely loves them. The battery life is excellent, they’re waterproof, and in the beginning he even wore them in the shower because he couldn’t get enough of the sound 😄 The sound quality is surprisingly clear and enjoyable. I actually appreciate that they don’t completely block out the outside world. They feel much safer for cycling, walking, or simply being out in public because you can still hear what’s happening around you while enjoying your music. Another huge advantage is comfort. Since they don’t seal your ear canal like silicone earbuds, your ears stay ventilated and comfortable even during long listening sessions. No ear pain or that “plugged up” feeling. The only thing worth mentioning is the fit. They seem to fit larger ears better. I tried them on myself, and they felt a little loose because I have smaller ears. But since they were a gift for a man, the fit turned out to be perfect for him. After a full year of daily use, they’re still going strong, and I would absolutely recommend them.

Perfect for bedtime podcasts and then sleep
These are superb for listening to podcasts in bed and then sleeping. No cables, perfect connectivity and you can use one or both. They hold their charge for days. Tricky to get in and out of the box but that’s nothing. Ive bought 2 x lots just in case I forget to charge one set. I absolutely recommend them for bedtime listening. I paid for both sets myself and am not sponsored.

Comfortable open ear headphones that my son really enjoys
Bought the Shokz OpenFit 2 headphones and my son loves them. They are very comfortable to wear because they sit just outside the ear rather than inside it. This open ear design is quite interesting because it lets you listen to music while still being aware of what is happening around you, which is great for things like walking, gaming, or exercising. The fit is light and secure and he says they are comfortable even when worn for longer periods. Sound quality is clear and they connect easily using Bluetooth. Battery life also seems really good. They can last around a full day of listening on one charge and even longer when using the charging case, which makes them very convenient for everyday use. Overall a great set of headphones if you want something comfortable that does not block your ears completely. My son has been very happy with them and uses them a lot.
