Additionally, I have a tendency to misplace my Apple Pencils from time to time. This is an awesome alternative to the expensive Apple Pencil Pro. I wish it would automatically work and charge like the Apple version, but for the price, this fits my small needs without breaking the bank. It’s pretty accurate and on par with the Apple Pencil, but I’ve never owned the Apple version. It’s easy to use as well and snaps on magnetically to my iPad Air m3

I got this Apple Pencil dupe as a gift for my mom. She has the iPad 11th gen or iPad (A16). I read a lot of reviews and saw a lot of TikTok videos of how great it is. I will agree, it’s great for the price and especially if it’s for note taking or digital planning, or so I thought. I had it delivered on 5/16/25, it was super easy to install. Love the “Find my”feature on it. The quality of the pencil is great! So far the battery life seems good. Received it at 85% and today 05/17/25 it’s at 70%(as of writing this review). The pencil seems like a good fit, it’ll magnetically attach to the side of the iPad. For it to be flush to the side, you’ll have to remove the usb-c port cover, which isn’t a big deal to be honest. It’s all preference. The design is pretty good! Love that you tap the top once and it’ll take you home, tap twice; it’ll show all of the open tabs/windows you’re using. This is great for iPad beginners. It doesn’t have the tap to change from pencil to eraser like the second gen Apple Pencil does(just saying), but it’s not a deal breaker. The only thing that I don’t like is that the tip of the pencil, which it came with has already been worn out with light usage. I hope this review helps. If you’re thinking about purchasing go ahead and buy it, if you have a heavy hand in writing just know the tips are quick to wear. Which I don’t like, thank Has it comes with three replacements. But with one day of usage it’s already worn to the metal tip. I’d give it 5 stars if it didn’t wear within one day. Mind you I got it on 5/16/25 and it’s worn on 5/17/25.

If all you need for your new iPad is a stylus for writing, highlighting, or tapping icons when navigating, you can’t go wrong with this ESR stylus at $32 (as of 8/5/25). The stylus has a decent weight - heavier than some cheap styluses but not as substantial as the Apple Pencil Pro. Writing and highlighting works fine. The stylus attaches magnetically to your iPad (although the USB-C port cover does get in the way and leaves the stylus sitting not quite flat against your iPad). There are a couple of limited functions built in to the button on the end of the stylus including return to Home Screen and display your open apps. Charging speed seems as fast as advertised although I have not had the stylus long enough to determine battery life. There are, however, quite a number of features you sacrifice for a stylus at this price. You get none of the gesture controls of the Apple Pencil Pro such as double-tapping or rotation for menus. When set aside for a while, even when magnetically attached to your iPad, this stylus will go to sleep and you have to click the button end to wake it from sleep. If you’re an artist, unless you give this stylus some time to get used to AND an Apple Pencil Pro is well above your budget, you might want to pass on this and go for the Pencil Pro. Pressure sensitivity levels and tilt are okay but when testing this stylus in Affinity Designer and Sketchbook while the stylus draws lines smoothly, there is some noticeable jitter and line thickness is not 100% consistent. So, in the end, you have to consider the price of this stylus and its “just enough” basic functionality versus the price and feature set of the Pencil Pro. I think for most folks, especially if you didn’t spend a lot on a pricey new iPad Pro, this stylus will be fine. IF you’re an artist and/or spent a lot for an iPad Pro, this isn’t the stylus you should use.

Works just as described and feels amazing to write with, good weight imo. Amazing with extra tips! I recommend waiting 5 seconds before letting go of the button because I randomly go to my homescreen because it thinks I single clicked.
