Maxxis Hookworm | Ultra-Durable BMX, Cruiser, City and Trail Bike Tire

I LOVE these tires. I have a Specialized Rockhopper Expert (hardtail) that I converted from a mountain bike to a hybrid by just switching the rubber. I ride on a lot of pavement and sidewalk, and I could almost visibly see the knobs on the original tires wear down when doing a 28-mile round trip to work. With these I can still take the dirt and gravel trails, and they have enough traction to still feel stable, though I do slow down a little more in loose corners. I also recently started taking them offroad more, and while they are certainly not ideal there, I was still able to make it through. Where they really shine is on the paved trails though. I was able to increase my average speed and top speed with these, between the smoother surface, the higher pressure, and the slightly larger size. Great stopping power paired with my hydraulic brakes. On multiple occasions I've had to go from 16+ MPH to a full stop, like NOW, and these are up for the task. (People pulling out into driveways without paying attention, IYKYK.) I have about 300 miles on these, again on mostly hard surfaces, and I have not noticed any wear, so I expect these to last a very long time. I have these paired with Continental MTB 29x1.75-2.5" tubes (also on Amazon, ID: B09M8YN98D) and they work great together and maintain pressure, which I keep around 55PSI. Nice, sooth, quiet ride. And with how little they have worn, they are well worth the money.

Shipper needs to not fold these to fit in smaller bags. Fortunately, they didn't kink the beads. The tires themselves are great! Really good price for what you're getting. They're really quiet with a smooth ride. The grip is awesome. The confidence in this tire through quick maneuvers and turns really make the ride more enjoyable.

These are great tires on my mountain bike. They're very cushiony and grip the road or dirt well. They also look really good.

We kept having the rear tire blow out, due to eBikes weighing more and going faster than their traditional counterparts. Got dangerous. Went through several tires and tubes. Finally, got a Hookworm. Solved the issue. It's slightly larger than the recommended 2.30" width stock tire. But fits. Huge improvement in handling and ride comfort. Also, most importantly, it doesn't blow out under heavy load. Super awesome tire for a heavy e-bike used daily. Love it. It also looks super cool btw. Nice touch. Thank you Maxxis!

Love these tires. Good road grip. I’ve put 100 miles on these, on the beach. Had no issues. 600 miles on paved/partially paved trails.

I ride my MTB to work daily. These tires smoothed out the ride so much and are so quiet. I run 50 psi which gives me a nice comfortable ride on and off sidewalks. highly recommend for anyone doing daily commutes.

I was wanting to put my Bafang electric mid-drive kit on a fat-wheeled bike but couldn't find one because they all seem to have really wide bottom brackets. These are a nice alternative. At 45psi they are comfortable but still roll nicely. I'm not a fan of the prices people charge for these but i'm hoping that in this instance, i get what i pay for. If they just don't get holes from pointy little rocks or thorns then they'll be better than my previous slicks. They seem to fit fine on pretty much any standard 26" rim with the bead firmly seated but this is not nearly the only consideration. When i was considering my purchase i measured everywhere that i though *width* might be a problem, but my brain glitched and didn't think anything of the height. As it happens these are about 2.4" high from edge of rim at 45psi, which is almost a full inch higher than my previous tires. The only reason these fit my bike is because i totally lucked out. They just barely clear the front brake bracket, which is where my front fender attaches so i lost the fender until i can figure out alternative mounting. My rear rack, (critical b/c it carries my battery), didn't even come close to clearing so i'm just lucky that it has adjustments for such circumstances. Furthermore my bike now sits an inch higher so this influences my kickstand angle, which is fortunately also adjustable. And, since this an electric conversion it only has one front sprocket. If i still had the original triple chainring i am not sure it would function on the inner gears. Oh, and i had to completely remove the brake pads to get the wheels in. If you've got disc brakes this obviously isn't an issue but if you don't, just be aware that this is another step you'll be taking if you have a flat while out riding. All that said i'm happy with just about everything except the price. I think my bike looks cool and it handles much better on the streets now. I'm attaching a photo of the front brake bracket to show how perilously close i came to not being able to use these. As it is, i don't think i can put any more air in. Just, be more careful than me.

Génial, une fois installé sur le vtt, pour un usage de ville ou de piste cyclable ca fait toute la différence, moins de bruit, moins de résistance avec la route que des pneus a crampons... facille a monté, parfait.

Je fais beaucoup de route avec mon vtt pneu à campons j’ai pris cette marque dont je suis très satisfait moins de bruit réduit la consommation de ma batterie donc je force aussi un peu moins

These are black on one side so they are manufacturing blems and didn't get printed on both sides

Great tyres for the Ebike, I do 50km’s a day. Nothing negative to report. Fit up really easily and look great too
