Forest Origins Pink Oyster Mushroom Grow Kit, Ready to Grow Indoors

It was such a great experience to see mushrooms grow in your own room. Instructions were simple and easy to follow and the results were very satisfying. Mushrooms tasted great and the texture was perfect. We harvested three different times already and it’s still growing like the first time! Value is relative. Keeping the moisture level is the key but even after taking 5 days of vacation it didn’t rot! Great product!

I love mushrooms, but had never seriously entertained the idea of growing them before. I had a friend mention mushroom kits which peaked my interest, so I decided to give it a go. I decided on oyster mushrooms because they are a personal favorite of mine and a bit hard to come by where I live. The growing process is extremely simple from start to finish. All you have to do it cut an X , agitate the top layer of "soil", and mist twice daily with the included sprayer. I put my log(?) on a table in front of my kitchen window which gets a lot of natural sunlight (but never any direct sunlight) and followed the steps. The instructions said that it can take up to a week before you see growth, but mine started after a couple of days. Watching the mushrooms grow was strangely satisfying! They grew shockingly fast and would double in size sometimes within the same 24 hour period. About a week after starting the grow kit, I had a beautiful crop of mushrooms ready to harvest. They tasted great and I look forward to buying another kit soon! Would highly recommend the product to mushroom lovers or anyone who may want to overwhelm their friends and family with daily pictures of shockingly fast growing mushrooms. P.S. - One thing that I did a bit differently from the instructions was mist more than the instructions called for (somewhere around 15 or 16 sprays each time and sometimes more than twice a day). Since I don't know the counter factual, I'm not sure if that helped or hurt my final product, so I am not explicitly recommending it. Regardless, I was very happy with the batch I got.

I have ordered several different kits from this seller, and how fast they grow is AMAZING! You get little buds in about 3 days, and they are usually ready to harvest in less than a week! I know it says to grow them soon after getting them. I got these in March and I just started growing them last week. I put them in the back of my closet and forgot about the box. With this batch, I started using my water sprayer for my hair, and it is much easier for me, I find the little hand pump annoying, but I do work over 60 hours a week, and I get annoyed very easily. I don't like mushrooms, my husband eats them the most. I have to say growing your own mushrooms taste 1000 times better than store-bought mushrooms. They are rather pleasant. I love making chicken with balsamic vinegar and mushrooms. Also I have a personal pizza oven I bought on Amazon that these mushrooms taste great on. I am just now trying my "bonus" batch because I haven't bothered with the other ones I've grown because reading the directions seemed kind of difficult. After watching the video on the website I have them going. Thank you Forest Origins!!!

The instructions say to use the included spray bottle and mist the mushrooms a couple times daily. I live in Southern California. I live in Southern California so I figured the mushrooms would grow better with a dome to keep humidity levels up. This ended up being insufficient and the mushrooms were growing into a the shape of a shriveled tube, rather than large flat caps typical of oyster mushrooms. I was told by experienced mushroom cultivators to remove the humidity dome because oyster mushrooms need lots of fresh air, which caused the mushrooms to become even more shriveled and the new growth became light yellow/off white instead of pink. It was decidedly a failure, so I harvested the first batch and attempted a second "flush" but this time I pointed an ultrasonic humidifier at the block. The mushrooms grew explosively in the new conditions, and within 5 days I had a healthy cluster of oyster mushrooms ready to harvest. The two attached pictures are of the first flush, grown with a humidity dome and regular hand misting, versus the second flush with a humidifier providing constant supplemental humidity. If you live in a naturally humid climate, this product will most likely produce fantastic results. If you live in a dry desert environment, you will definitely have to come up with a way to ensure the mushrooms get enough supplemental humidity while also providing them with adequate fresh air.

I had these blocks in a controlled environment...they produced at max 8 oz......I did everything I could to get a second flush....not a single second flush...if you want something get it from a decent company like north spore.....for how much these cost you might as well buy them already to go off the INTERNET IT IS THE JUNK SUBSTRATE!¡!!!!!

I bought the three pack after my success with this single pink oyster kit. I’ve harvested two flushes, following the directions on their site, and am hoping to get one more out of it. I wish I had thought to weigh my harvests so I could give you an economic break down compared to buying these gourmet mushrooms at a farmers market. Sorry about that. What I will say is that the experience of watching them grow then getting to harvest and taste these deliciously meaty flavored mushrooms is well worth the price. I did sterilize my knife before cutting the X as directed and I used filtered and boiled water in the provided spray bottle, after cooling, to minimize any contamination of the mycelium. Attached are photos of the daily progress of my first flush (29JUN26-02JUL26) and the second to last two photos are of my second flush with this single kit (24JUL26-16JUL26). I soaked it, taped closed the original X (not well enough) then cut a new X to the left of the original to start the second flush. The last photo is of all my kits growing in the windowsill after I bought the three pack. I’m VERY happy with these kits. 100% success rate. No mold. Highly recommend.

I followed the directions (spray 7-8 pumps 2 times per day) and they dont seem to be growing right. Theyre all small and clumpped in the middle and larger on the outside. Why would they grow like that? Did i get a partially bad batch? Did i spray them too little or too much? Are they all edible or should i try one of the big ones? Can i just pick and eat it or do i need to cook it or somehow treat it?

The bag comes with zero percent mycelium growth . I wait for more few days and yet nothing happened . I order some mushroom kit from north spores and they all comes with mycelium growth .
