The first saw they sent me was a shinken real sword and I ordered a iaito Which is a unsharp and sword for practice and demonstration. I have plenty of real shinken sharpen swords. The first saw they sent me was a sharp bend shrinking sword could you imagine if I had ordered that for my son and they sent him the real sword by mistake. He could’ve injured or killed somebody not knowing that it was a real sword. I sent it back I had AMAZON make it right and compensate me for the frustration and possible viability. The real shinken saw that they sent me was made horribly the scabbard was cracked and broken the wrapping on the Tsuka was horrible. no the one sharpened iaito sword was made very well for the low cost it definitely is worth the price being that low I wouldn’t pay any more for it.

The package that this practice sword arrived in is very good and well thought out. I received it with no damage. The sword bag itself is good quality. The saya/ sheath fits well and is a nice and shiny black. The sword is made of stainless and is well balanced. Overall it seems to be just a little on the heavy side. The handle and guard are tight fitting with now wiggle room. The tip of the sword has been filed so there are no sharp points making this a perfect practice sword.

At this price point, I am impressed with this katana. Straight blade, everything is tight and put together well. The saya feels really light. Possibly fragile. But it arrived in perfect condition so I can't complain. I recommend it.

An unsharpened katana with which to practice sword-handling (iaido). It was securely packed and arrived quickly. It looks and feels solid; Finishes are clean and neat. Obviously care was taken. A very happy purchase that feels like a good investment, for training and display.

Being in need of a new practice katana, but on a bit of a budget, I decided to give this "Handmade Sword" a try. Unfortunately, despite its appealing price, the sword fell short in several key areas, prompting me to return it. The first issue was its balance; it was notably front-heavy, making precise control more challenging. The scabbard design was flawed, featuring a groove at the thumb release that was uncomfortably sharp due to the low-quality metal. This design oversight became evident quickly and detracted from the overall experience. In addition, the fabric wrapping on the handle began to show wear after just a few practice sessions, signaling poor quality in materials. The lack of feedback from the blood groove also contributed to my decision to look for a better option. Eventually, by investing just $50 more, I secured a katana of substantially higher quality, highlighting the deficiencies of the initial purchase even more. For serious practitioners seeking a new practice sword, this particular katana might not meet your standards. Based on my experience, the quality does not justify even its lower price point, and those dedicated to their craft should consider investing in a more reliable option.

This was a Christmas gift for my 17 year old grandson who holds a first degree black belt in Taekwondo. He loves the sword. We are not sure that his master will allow him to use this sword during training but he will use it when he practices at home.

Exactly as described, it isn't sharp, it is heavy so provides realistic holding when I practice kenjutsu. For the iaido part it is a little difficult to draw but then again I've only drawn it couple of times to try it out. A few simple, hard swings shows it isn't falling apart, so it is connected well. All in all I am happy with it

I bought this stainless unsharpened katana for only two months, and a casually single hand vertical chop on bed, the blade becomes two. (My bed sheet is still fine) The broken section seems not like a stainless steel. It looks like some kind recycled metal. After all it is a decoration, and the price is insane with the poor quality.

Purchased for kendo kata demonstrations and iaido practice. Chose the steel version for the light contact that occurs during kendo-no-kata. Everything is well made, especially for this price point, and the traditional construction means that it will be easy to maintain. It was very well packaged and arrived earlier than originally promised. Have ordered the matching wakizashi based upon this experience.

Its perfect. Same weight size and feel as the sharp battle ready katana i got from HMS through amazon. Fits in the saya well and no loose parts. Came in a cardboard tube very well packaged but no brand on the tube like the sharp versions. Great for Iaido and Iaijitsu.

Received this sword yesterday. Played around with it a bit before writing a review and am very pleased. All the fittings are nice and tight, weight and balance are good. Perfect practice sword for Iaido. Liked the quality of this sword enough to order from this seller again today, this time a functional sharp blade for actual cutting. Fingers crossed the new one has the same great quality.
