Bought this as a replacement for our Kitchen Aid immersion blender and the Blendtec is superior in every way. The unit as a whole feels well crafted and sturdy. The sleek design and compact footprint of the stand looks great on the counter top and makes it super convenient to use. We hardly even use our full size blender anymore. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an immersion blender. The added bonus of the whisk attachment and food processing ability makes it even more of a handy kitchen tool.

Blendtec's Immersion blender may not look like much, but this is a seriously capable and well made immersion blender. Everything is nicely assembled from high quality materials and the plastics have a rubberized feel. The motor unit is particularly impressive. It's heavy, dense, and feels robust. I really appreciate the included accessory caddy to organize all of the accessories. My previous immersion blender also had a bunch of accessories, but no storage, so they ended up tossed in a cabinet. Using the Blendtec is easy. There is a power button - that you push and hold - and a large knob on the top to adjust speed. The speed dial moves smoothly and has a wide range of adjustment. Besides the power button there is also a MAX button that overrides your current speed setting to go to the highest speed. The accessories are easy to change. I only wish the power cord was a little longer. I used the Blendtec to cream the potatoes in a chowder (using the blending wand), make whipped cream from heavy cream (using the whisk and plastic jar), and chop an onion and jalapeño (using the food processor attachment). It excelled at all tasks and had more than enough power to handle these tasks. While running it is fairly quiet, balances nicely in the hand, and doesn't vibrate much. Only the whisk, plastic jar, processor blade, and processor bowl are dishwasher safe. The rest of the accessories need to be washed by hand. All in all... excellent.
