Not real leather.
I’ve purchased this belt a few times in major department stores and each one lasted many years. This one I ordered online and within 6 months, the plastic imitation leather on top is bubbling and peeling off. I only wear this belt on the weekends. You can see the difference in the much older real leather belt that I bought in store. Both are Nautica belts.

Not a great belt
Although this is a beautiful belt and well constructed, it is also a belt that fails to satisfy. Although the belt is advertised as two-sided, the buckle placement and design will not allow the belt to be worn with the black side facing outward. In addition, most belts come with a second loop to control the lay of the belt around your waist. This one does not. More importantly,the loop holder provided is an integral part of the buckle and not flexible on terms of positioning. I would suggest looking for another product.
