Underrated footwear works and feels great
I've been surfing and trying different types of boat shoes, really. I can't say I've ever would've considered these types since they look like a hybrid between water shoes, casual shoes, and moccasins. With most cases of boats shoes I don't like to wear socks, but in the end my feet end up smelling pretty rank. I can't say the same when I have these. When I first put them on, I was kinda skeptic that they looked weird, but it turns out they look just fine with most outdoor wear. They have better cushion than boat shoes and moccasins. What really surprises me is how breathable it is. There are holes at the bottom of the shoe that allow your foot to breathe as well as through the mesh giving your foot breath-ability in all directions. I don't recommend you wear socks with these though, and I have tried just for the sake of argument. The mesh is like that of swimming trunks material. It has a small insole in which you can put your own with a odor destroyer later, which I haven't really done since it's quite breathable.I walk a lot, especially since a certain app came out. Now, I have many types of shoes: sports shoes, walking/running shoes, minimalist (vibram), toe shoes, boat shoes. As a comfort over time of walking long distance, these give you just about a bit less than sport shoes. Sport shoes and running shoes are probably the better choice when it comes to walking long distances for comfort and arch control, etc. However, since I have other types of shoes, these Mohems are actually better than the other types. I went to a theme park with these and didn't feel bothered by walking so much. Even if your feet swell, the mesh stretches a great deal to make it comforting. Now, do they replace your other shoes? Probably just your boat shoes. I'm fascinated with boat shoes because you don't have to wear socks and they're practically for boats, water, and beach. Before that, I used to wear flipflops all the time. These do replace those features since it adds a rubber soft bottom giving you increased cushion for more stability. I can't say they replace minimalist shoes unless you developed planter's foot overtime. There are some that prefer minimalist feels that vibram shoes develop. They also definitely don't replace your sport shoes and running shoes. You can run in these but not as fast as with running shoes. You can play basketball in these, but again they don't replace sport shoes You can say these are all versatile shoes that average everywhere...without socks.

Perfect for an icy MN winter
I bought these (Poseidon Mesh) alongside another type from the same manufacturer (Mohem Poseidon Suede), so this review will serve for both products. Both models look excellent and fit perfectly. I've gotten a lot of compliments on them!I primarily wear them at the office as a comfortable shoe that doesn't have any rise on the heel. These have already seemed to improve my posture! It's very icy and cold at this time of year, but the soles have an almost octopus-like grip, so they have excellent traction. I wear them with wool socks, which seems to work particularly well with the Mesh shoes. During the day, my feet would normally get pretty sweaty, then I would go outside for the trip home and have freezing feet. The mesh allows my feet to breathe, combined with the wicking ability of wool, allows it to stay dry no matter what. Even in subzero conditions, this combination holds up.I put them to the test today. Going on a hike through very slushy and wet conditions, my shoes and socks naturally got fairly wet. My girlfriend was wearing waterproof snow boots, while I just had on my little mesh shoes and wool socks. With that much water around, her boots eventually allowed some water in, and 2 hours later when we got home her feet were still soaked. My feet, on the other hand, started drying immediately while we were walking. They were fully dry a couple minutes after we got out of the wettest areas, and had no trace of water when I got home! I will definitely make this my standard outdoors wear when it's cold outside. The Suede shoes don't breathe nearly as well, which is somewhat to be expected. They do look nice; in my opinion, suede looks nicer than the brown mesh, but I've gotten much more compliments for the mesh, so I think others would disagree. They might work better with thin dress socks, but that will only work in mild winter conditions or warmer. That issue aside, they also work very well as a comfortable office shoe. The color scheme is just slightly too bright for formal settings, but it works well with casual wear.I highly recommend either shoe, and as long as the durability holds up, I would even suggest using it for hiking! Even if these shoes fall apart at a faster rate than others (which I have seen no evidence of in my admittedly short ownership period), at about half the price of any comparable shoe it's still a win-win.
