Honestly the best hair dye you can buy in a box. It might not be the most expensive but my mother used this stuff for probably two decades or longer and when I finally grew out of highlights and changing my hair constantly this was my go to hair dye. I have had my hair professionally colored and it felt like straw, I have bought more expensive hair dyes and my hair felt like straw. I go back to this one every single time and my hair feels healthy and shiny and even a bigger compliment as the fact that no one knows that I color my hair. I will use this until I die or no longer have hair on my head

It is listed as Brown-Black...very little evidence of the "brown". I wanted a dye that was not BLACK...I like the fact that it didn't "burn" my scalp...other cheap dyes make my scalp itch for 2 or 3 days..

Lots of brown hair dyes include way too much ginger tint. This one is not like that. It's also not a harsh black. Color lasts longer than competitors' products.

I like the smell of this hair color. Very simple to use and matches my natural hair color. It also gives you a big tube of moisturizer unlike Revlon.

I love the price point, the color saturates deep, so it definitely will cover your gray. I knew there was a reason why it was a classic, so I bought it. I can already tell that this color will last. But what a runny mess. The smell is 5 stars, but it's a mess. And the color itself is monochromatic. Like, there is nothing natural looking about it. It's the flattest color. I look like a goth. Which, for me personally is fine, but might not be for some. There is very little shine and it's not vibrant enough. It's very matte looking, and for hair you don't want to look like someone colored your hair with a sharpie. BIGGEST TAKE AWAY: Use Vaseline around the hair lineon the forehead, over your ears, nape of neck. This dye stains your skin like a tattoo. It's taken 3 days to start fading from my skin ( which went from brown to a brown green as it faded from my skin. But that's my own fault that I didn't prep like I know to do. For me, leaking it on for a full 25 mins was, personally, probably too long of a sit time since the pigment is so penetrative. But everyones' skin and hair are different. It didn't damage my hair per se but my hair feels like straw, even when I add jojoba oil to it to make it smoother and shine. Anyway it will make a mess. This is a good dye for the price but I have used better box dyes in the same price range that I like better. I might buy this again but only if the discount is really good, prep your face. And side note, I never recommend a physical skincare exfoliation, but you might want to use a sugar scrub or a nice facial scrub on your face after you rinse and dry this dye (for the skin staining, if any happens)
