Very excited for these for my developmentally delayed 3.5yo
My son was born 14 weeks premature (and subsequently had significant complications in the NICU like sepsis). He is currently just over 3.5. While he “looks normal” — he isn’t. He has various complications likely due to his extreme prematurity — asthma, developmental delays, sensory processing and emotional regulation issues, feeding issues, and more. Not diagnosed ADHD or autistic (yet) but many indicators and he likely is both. He’s already getting the same services so it doesn’t really matter what the label is. While he is 3.5, developmentally he is more like 2. He is a petite little guy, wearing 2T. We see four private therapists per week (PT/OT/ST/feeding) and he goes to a special education developmental preschool. My career is in health insurance, too. I have been living and breathing this for years. We own numerous Harkla products (and competitor products)… in fact, I have written reviews about my son’s experience using some of their other products. My son also struggled with areas these dice are targeting - various aspects of ability to emotionally self-regulate. I am very pleased overall and find these safe for 3+. I love the concept, I love how easy these will be to integrate into our routine and make learning fun. I think these mainly “physical” moves will be good for him, too. I can’t wait to take these to the OT and discuss her thoughts on incorporating them and making the most of them. (I do love the content Harkla provides and find it generally great but we are very close with our own therapists who are more familiar with our son’s unique needs). ONLY complaint: this will not be uncommon in their target audience - children with tics/particularities. My son likes things clean and undamaged. If they are dirty or broken he can become highly fixated on cleaning and fixing them. :( These dice have seams that my son perceived as dirty and damaged (even brand new), and this was very frustrating to him. He desperately wanted them fixed. We’ve been working on the concept that damaged things are not broken, it’s ok to be damaged, etc…. But this is just one of his *things*. I was disappointed to see all 3 dice had similar notable/jagged/dirty looking seams. This isn’t what I typically expect of Harkla products. I am rating a full 5 stars for now… However, I am VERY excited for this product for my son and will update as we begin to use it more!

Great Mini Activities to get out Wiggles and Refocus my Kiddo
My son finds it difficult to sit still and remain focused for longer than 10-15 minutes at a time for most things, and we've found that these dice are a really great way interrupt an activity with little mini breaks to help him get out some wiggles so he can re-focus. The different colored dice encourage different types of energy: calming, alerting, and focusing. We usually start with the orange dice (alerting) a few times to get some energy out, then the blue dice (calming) once or twice, and sometimes we'll throw the green dice (focusing) if he is still interested in them. I've found that when he starts to seem restless or less focused when we are working on a project or learning something new, I can ask him if he wants to throw the dice a few times (he almost always answers with a yes), and after the dice activities we are usually able to get back to the original activity with renewed vigor or interest. My son and I both really like these dice and recommend them to folks whose kids could benefit from breaking up larger, more focused activities with occasional movement breaks.

Fun Family Activity!
I wasn't sure my 5 year old would be into this or not, but we made it a fun after dinner family activity and she loved it! We've had a ton of snow days this year and have felt cooped up, and after a day of seeing my child struggle to focus and sit still I remembered I had these sensory activity dice. We went through the circuit that the little booklet recommends, and my kid was able to follow along when I demonstrated the movements. My child has some sensory needs that I'm still trying to figure out and meet, as well as difficulty with body awareness, so these movements feel like a great starting point for her to figure out what helps her body. Make sure to read through the tiny booklet that comes in the bag. It has a lot of good information, including a video library to see the movements, which is so helpful for my visual loving kid! I did note that when I first got the dice out of the bag, some of the dice had a bit of black residue, my guess from just distribution, but it wiped off and looked just fine. There was also a little bit of a chemical smell to them when they first arrived, but after a day that dissipated and is no longer an issue.

Great dice for teaching sensory techniques
So, I'm going to preface this by saying I was already a fan of Harkla and had just seen these advertised on instagram when they popped up on amazon. I am thrilled to have a chance to trial one of their products. As an OT in the school system, I'm always looking for new ways to engage that kids in learning about self regulation and sensory techniques. These dice have been such a winner over the last week and a half. You get 3 large dice, one for focus, one for calming, and one for energizing. Most of my kiddos need the calming and focus dice. Each set of dice has activities that are simple and provide different input on each side. The kids roll and we practice one of the techniques. Then we incorporate some interoception into the activities where I try to get the kids to tune in to their body sensations and how the activity makes them feel. Something about the dice makes this so much more fun for the kids! The dice are quiet, appear to be very durable, are easy to use and are definitely worth the investment!

Well illustrated SEL dice
These activity dice are a great idea. I would say they are best for 1st grade and up if you are teaching students how to use them on their own, otherwise younger students need to do these with adult supervision - at least until they know what each picture means. The dice had a very strong chemical smell right out of the package, so they needed to be aired out. I worry that over time the black writing and pictures will wear off the dice, making them unusable. That being said, the illustrations are extremely detailed and helpful as step-by-step directions on what to do. They come with directions and and a handy mesh bag. I always appreciate mesh bags so I can see the contents, and remember that I have these as another SEL tools to use in the classroom. The size is just right - big enough to make them seem "fun" for younger students, but not so big that they are hard to find a place to put them. These are similarly priced to other such items, but the illustrations make them more useful, in my opinion. My only concern is the durability over time.

Engaging and Effective Sensory Tool for Focus and Movement Breaks
The Harkla Sensory Activity Dice are a fantastic tool for encouraging movement, focus, and self-regulation in both kids and adults. Each side of the dice features a unique sensory activity, making it a fun and engaging way to introduce brain breaks. I particularly appreciate the semi-random selection process—it allows for a more organic approach rather than feeling like a forced activity, which can be especially helpful for those who may be averse to certain movements. The quality is overall great; the screen printing is well done, though the injection molding has some rough seams. That said, the dice are durable and hold up well to frequent use. I use them with my clients in therapy sessions when a movement break is clearly needed, and they’ve proven to be a helpful and effective tool. As noted in the included booklet, sensory breaks are most impactful before and after focused tasks, transitions, or challenging activities, and I’ve seen firsthand how beneficial they can be in those moments. If you’re looking for an easy and engaging way to support focus, calm, and energy through movement, I highly recommend these sensory dice!

Well made & thought out
These dice are sturdy with wonderful sensory activities on each side. They has been very useful when I need some activities for my boys to do. We don't have to think, we just roll the die and it chooses the activity for us. I especially love that each color represents a different need, so we know which one to use (Blue = calm, Orange = alerting, Green = focus). The activities are pretty easy to understand, but for any that you are unsure about, they include a QR code on the last page of the instruction guide that takes you to their activity library.
