OFF! Backyard Citronella Outdoor Candle, 8 oz (2-Pack)

I bought this for my apartment balcony, and they’ve been a great addition to summer nights outdoors. The candles are easy to set up, burn well, and create a pleasant citronella scent that isn’t overwhelming. They’re the perfect size for a small patio or balcony and help make spending time outside much more enjoyable during the warmer months. I like having two candles so I can place them in different areas for better coverage. Overall, a useful product that adds a nice ambiance while helping make outdoor evenings more comfortable. I would definitely purchase these again and recommend them for anyone with a balcony, patio, or small outdoor space.

I have been these Off Backyard candles for years. I buy them during the mosquito season here in LA. This has been my experience: PROS: 1. Minimizes Mosquito activity - Citronella candles mask our scent from Mosquitoes. So this is camouflage from Mosquitoes. It does not repel them. If you light these an hour or so before going out, it would have enough time to circulate outside and make the mosquitoes move on as well. 2. Pleasant fragrance - They do smell very nice and make your backyard smell great. 3. Ambiance lighting - Great for outdoor parties as a table light as well as hide your guests from mosquitoes. 4. Lasts a long time - I light my candles every day at dusk and dawn and blow them out when we go inside. So about 3-4 hours a day lasts about a week. 5. Repels flies - I noticed that flies did not go near the area around these candles. It seems to repel flies. Mosquitoes would fly near the candles but would not bite us most of the time. CONS: 1. Does not repel mosquitoes - Unlike DEET, it does not actually repel mosquitoes. But if you have a heavy concentration of mosquitoes, you probably should use this in conjunction with bug spray. SUMMARY: Yes, it works. But, you have to leave it lit outside for some time before going out. It does not repel mosquitoes, just hides you from them. It repels flies though.

Not impressed! However, it did its job. They are messy before you light them.

Do not leave it in the SUN! My wick has disappeared! That's my fault though....

These probably work great, but but I wouldn't know. Citronella is supposed to be lit about an hour before you head outside to sit around the picnic table, so the scent permeates the surroundings. That's how it's supposed to be done for maximum protection. But that is not possible with these. Because the candle holder sides are so low - or because of how the candle sits inside the holders - they're useless for outside because the wind just blows the candle out every time. Very frustrating. Complete waste of money.

We used this OFF! Backyard Citronella Scented Candle during a backyard gathering, and it was a great addition to our outdoor setup. I also like that it doubles as a decorative centerpiece while helping make outdoor time more enjoyable. Overall, it's a nice choice for relaxing outside with family and friends.

Came melted, but that’s to be expected ordering candles to be delivered while transported in the heat! Just smushed it back in there, lit them for 15 minutes to melt back into form, then let them cool. There are still effective and have a nice smell.

The candles are large with a pleasant but noticeable scent. Unfortunately, I've lost the wick out of the only one I've burned. Like, once the top melted, the wick fell down beneath the wax. They don't seem to stay lit long and take very little breeze to blow out. Doesn't seem to be quite the same quality I've had in the past. Update: I've now lost the wick on the second candle, during burning. Definitely irritating and inconvenient. Would not buy again if this is going to be the case.

The product works. I use the candle outdoors and I feel comfortable of course within a close distance

You can never go wrong with anything from Off. They are beautiful with the black base and keep the mosquitos away
