APC UPS Battery Replacement, RBC6 Smart-UPS SMT1000, SMC1500, SMT1000C, SMT1000US, SU1000, SU1000BX120, SUA1000US, SUA1000

The battery pack was delivered on time and in good condition. The instructions were fairly good, but just in case I reviewed a YouTube video to make sure I fully understood the replacement steps (with visuals). The new battery is OEM, so it fit perfectly in the UPS chassis. APC also offers free battery recycling (a HUGE plus) so I didn't have to mess with finding an e-waste/recycling location to safely dispose of the old battery. Keep all the original packing material and go to APC website to get your UPS label. After that, just drop off at any UPS location and you're done. NOTE: This offer may only if you've purchased an APC branded battery pack and are returning an APC battery pack. Check the APC battery recycling information to make sure. After installation, I followed instructions on charging and calibrating the battery to ensure best possible performance. Very happy with the results so far.

So far so good. I just received my battery and it appears to be a true APC labeled battery. I installed it and am now awaiting initial charge top-off before turning the unit on and loading/testing the battery. I will update this review, if it fails, but I am not anticipating any problems. Note: I have seen other postings where people complain, and are claiming the battery they received is not a true APC battery. They say they removed the battery label and found they received a Chinese battery, but they didn't say who the Mfr actually was. So... Just for curiosity I removed the original APC Label from my old/original battery. This was the original battery that came with my UPS, and lasted six years, plus it sat discharged in storage for the last year (and didn't leak or explode). The original battery mfr. info was printed directly on the battery (not just another label). The print showed the Mfr. as "BB Battery" using a pair of model BP12-12 batteries, made in China. They are somewhat rare, but if you can find a true BB Battery brand for sale you will find they are at the expensive end of the price list, and a pair of 12V/12AH will cost you the same or more than this battery. At this point I have not removed the label on my new battery, and will do so only if it fails. Also note that the box this was shipped in has the APC serial # and identifies it as made in Vietnam. You may ask what's the point to all this? It's simple, APC apparently puts their Brand Label on batteries made by other companies, APC builds equipment, APC does not build batteries. I trust in APC to source decent replacement batteries. If you happen to get a defective one, well yeah sometimes that happens. Keep the original shipping box and Call APC (not amazon) for warranty replacement, because according to other reviews I have read Amazon says no returns on this "hazardous" material. Hey Amazon!!! How is it this battery is somehow not hazardous to stock in your warehouse, handle them, and ship them out to customers. But yet it somehow miraculously becomes hazardous to ship it back to them! A 30-90 Day return should apply! Really - stop blocking defective returns!!!

I purchase an APC Smart UPS C1500 in March 2013. The batteries were still working and their charged voltage at 13.00 Volts. This is is nearly 6.5 years of use with no sign of failure. This is longer than any other brand of batteries and fairly typical of my experience with APC batteries in UPSs.I decided to replace them because I it is likely they would not make another year given data on this type of battery, and I wanted auto make sure my UPS was in top shape. Given my good luck, I bought an APC battery pack RBC6 replacement which arrived nearly fully charged and intact. The unit started up with zero problems after I let it recharged for 6 hours. I will update this note if and when the batteries fail for 6 years pass. The APC price is only a value if the batteries last 6 years IMO. The removal process is awkward and could be improved easily. I would give APC UPS units a higher value if they made it easy/cheap to hook up additional external battery packs without having to buy their brand. I would hook up a couple of deep cell AGMs.

A UPS has one job, and that's to provide your computer/devices with the backup energy they need to protect against a power outage. While it's possible to find cheaper replacement batteries out there, if you're shopping for a battery of this class, then I think it's worth getting an official replacement as opposed to a no-name generic. I'll take that peace of mind any time. Installation in a SmartUPS 1000 was very easy. In just a few minutes, I was back up and running, and the self-test ran successfully. Batteries were already fully charged, so I had instant backup power protection. Now, to find a recycling center for the old batteries...

I was pleased to find this alternative to the OEM replacement. The price was great, the shipper exceeded expectations and got the battery here before their projected receive date. I was pleased the battery fit perfectly and I did not have to scavenge cables or jumpers from the old battery; I slid the old battery out, unhooked the cable, slid the new one in and connected the leads. I was back on-line in a matter of 5 minutes. Highly recommend this item as a cost-effective alternative to the OEM replacement. I cannot vouch for battery longevity since I have had this item installed for only 2 weeks, but so far it has not wavered in performance.

I just got off of the phone with APC. I purchased these batteries 3 years ago and they have worked fine. Last night I thought I smelled something burning and I noticed that part of my network was down. My BP1100 UPS had kicked off. I pushed the reset button and it came on using AC power. The next morning I unplugged the unit and tried to pick it up to examine it for any issues. It was so hot that it burned my hands and I dropped it onto the floor. I opened the unit and the batteries were so swollen that they were almost about to burst. The batteries were so swollen that they were jammed in the case and no longer removable. All of the sides and the tops of the batteries were deformed. Thank heavens the unit did not catch on fire or leak acid. I had unplugged it just in time. It took almost two hours for the batteries to cool down. Luckily I had the UPS setting on slide bots and the unit was not setting on the carpet. APC asked for me to return my power supply with the batteries still installed since they were not removable. They were so swollen that they were jammed in the case and had actually bent the sides of the case from the pressure. APC offered me a trade up program but I didn’t purchase a unit from them as the cost was more from them than from every local local or internet store even after their discount. I wrote this review to warn others to routinely check their UPS systems to avoid a fire or ruptured batteries. I will return my UPS to APC so they can check out what really happened and perhaps help others. Just a note, I own 4 APC UPS systems and none of the others had any issues or tripped. We did not have any power outages or storms nor have we had any in many weeks. I attached some photos of the swollen batteries. They may not be very clear as I could not remove them from the UPS case. I still hope they are helpful. I gave the batteries 1 Star because of the potential for damage and the safety hazard. This may seem harsh to some people (As they lasted almost 3 years.) but I was surprised that I got no warning of continuous alarms as this damage took place.

RBC6 sind einfach gut. Hätte schon mal Nachbauten versucht, aber im Ernstfall verlasse ich mich lieber das Original, Denn selbst die neigen dazu später sich aufzublähen. Und noch ein Tip: Solltet Ihr mal Original APC bestellen und etwas anderes bekommen. Wendet Euch an APC. Da bekommt ihr kostenlos Originalware gegen Beleg und Photos mit SN. APC geht dann gegen den Lieferanten der Euch die Plagiate zugesandt hat vor.
