Saved an Opossum's Life After Eating Rat Poison
Found a very small opossum who had eaten rat poison in our backyard. His poops were bright blue so we knew he'd eaten poison and we had a small window of time to get him treatment. No vets or rehabbers were available to help. Researched it and found that the poison works by reducing the animal's K1 stores, inhibiting ability to form blood clots. Called emergency vets for prescription K1 but they wouldn't prescribe without an in-person appointment and the wait time was 6+ hrs. Had this K1 overnighted via Prime. Gave him a K2/K1 multi supplement we had on hand while waiting for this to arrive. He'd already started bleeding a lot from a tiny old scab on his tail and he was extremely weak. He weighed 6oz and we calculated the necessary dose to be 1000mcg/day based on doses given to cats and dogs who'd been poisoned in a similar way. He clearly felt better when we gave him one pill every 12hrs. Dosed him that way for 2 weeks. Reduced dose to 500mcg/once per day for the second 2 weeks. This K1 dissolves like a dream in water so it was easy to syringe-feed it to him. After he was eating on his own again we added these tablets to his food, either crushed or dissolved in liquid and he always ate it, no problem. I was extremely happy with this product because of how easy it was to use in the manner I needed to use it. If you're scrolling through reviews trying to figure out if this will work for rat poison, it will. Order it right now if it's still Prime shipping, pay a couple dollars for faster shipping. While you're waiting for your order to come in, call all of your local supermarkets and health food stores to find any k1 you can. If all you can find is a supplement that is a vitamin K multi, Vitamin d with k or any multivitamin containing K1, pick it up and get it in them pronto. Even if it's not good for them to have all of the other stuff in a multi vitamin, even if it hurts their tummy a little, you aren't going to be using it long term. They just need some k1 right now. Also, if you call a store and they don't have k1, you can ask what multivitamins they have so you can google those specific multivitamins and find out if there's k1 in them. Good luck! Edit 3 years later: Snoot the opossum lived with us for two and a half years and he had a great little life. We loved him a lot and he loved us back. There were no long term effects from the poison as far as I could tell. Excellent K1. Changed my life :)

Dissolves quicly
Flavor is not bad. Dissolves quickly. Haven't noticed any bruising getting better but it's only been a month.

Not for babies
My main complaint is that these are really unnecessarily sweet. It's fine for adults, but I wouldn't recommend using these for newborns as an oral Vitamin K source. When we dissolved some in milk and fed it to our baby she got a very intense look in her eyes and was flushed and cranky for a few hours afterwards. I tasted it and realized it was like giving her a spoonful of straight sugar. Not harmful, but intense for a newborn. We later found the Thorne liquid drops, which are a much better option for the little ones.

Prompt convenient service for old folks
I'm suffering from a fatal blood disease and am alive past my predicted expiration date and I believe it is due to taking K1.
