Get the right fit. Quality that doesn’t break the bank.
I can’t really say anything bad about this jacket for the price. This is made well and provides the protection you expect from a jacket like this and more so especially at this price range. I wanted to really focus more on the fit of the jacket. For reference I’m 5’4, 167lbs. My suit size is 40S, jacket/shirt size is medium, dress shirt arm length is 32/33 and waist is 34. I would say my body type is more like a short running back. At first I ordered the medium because that’s the usual size I wear and it did fit me, but it felt like it was a relaxed fit. The pads were a little bit lower on the arms than where they needed to be and the back pad was sagging and had this awkward look on my back. Even though the jacket fit it didn’t feel right on my body and it was really unappealing because it looked too bulky and somewhat baggy on me. So I returned it and ordered a small. Everything that I had complaints about on the medium went away with the small. Pads were at the proper area. Even the back armor was flush on my back and the whole jacket overall just looked more aesthetic. So if you’re like me try a small rather than maybe a medium and you can probably save your self a trip to return the item and time to re order it.

A very good value
I've been riding with this jacket for a little over a week, in temperatures ranging from the low 40's to the mid-70's. Thus far, I've been very happy with the garment. It seems to be well made, with quality materials. On colder mornings, I've found that a thin base layer with a wool mid-layer keeps me toasty warm. On the warmer afternoons, I use just a shirt with the liner in the jacket and my comfort level is also just right. As advertised, the jacket does a great job of keeping the wind out, which I believe is the secret to the jacket's warmth. I can not speak to the jacket's durability in a crash, and I hope I never can. However, I have no reason to believe that it wouldn't do it's job under that condition as well. The sizing is good; at 6'4" tall and 200lbs I ordered an XL, and the fit is just right. The soft micro fleece/tricot collar liner is a nice bonus, and eliminates any potential for chafing. I would have preferred zippered gussets at the wrists, but the pleated Velcro closures seem to work well enough, and I can't really complain about cold air coming in at those points. The zipper in the rear of the jacket mates well to my rain pants (of different manufacture). The manufacturer seems to have gotten it right with this product.

Excellent budget jacket, too hot for warm weather.
Overall the jacket is of reasonable quality for such a low price. In Colorado I've ridden with it fully lined in 40º and it was perfectly comfortable. Above 75º it is quite hot. The vents are okay, but only if you have a full stream of wind hitting them, riding behind a modest fairing/windshield renders them pretty useless. The liner zips out and unbuttons from the sleeves pretty quickly so transitioning is easy. I'm 6' and 240lbs and I got an XL. It fits snug like a motorcycle is supposed to, but not tight, quite a perfect fit for me. I have broad shoulders and a thicker middle section and normally wear XL shirts and ordered the jacket to match and was not disappointed. The two downsides I see are #1 it's not a warm weather jacket whatsoever. There is good protection with quality materials, but the trade off is warmth. On cold days it is great. #2 the sleeves at the wrist are pretty enormous and the velcro closures flap around if you close them snugly. When it's warm I've kept them somewhat looser than I would like so air flows into the sleeves, this alleviates the closure flap issue, but I don't like that when they are snug there's 2 inches of velcro flap that has nothing to attach to. It is good when it's warm to fit around larger gloves if that's how you like to ride. For the fit and value I'm overall impressed. I'm looking for another jacket for hot weather.

Great deal and great quality.
I’ve had this jacket for 6 years and ridden thousands of miles with it. Yesterday, I hit a deer doing 60. The jacket is shredded, but it protected my skin from the road. There is one small spot on my elbow that looks more like a carpet burn than anything. I highly recommend this jacket!

Quality jacket at a great value
I just bought this jacket as my first motorcycle jacket. I have not worn it yet on a ride, but wanted to offer my initial thoughts. JACKET: - The jackets seems very heavy-duty and of good quality - It is very nice looking..okay of course that it subjective - Sizing: I would say it runs big. After measuring myself, I ordered a Large, but ended up needing a Medium (I'm 5'7" 165 lbs). Your mileage may vary. That said, it has several different snaps and straps to adjust the fit. Also, it may look a little bulky when you put it on since it has shoulder pads - The main zipper seems like a good quality zipper - It has several air vent zippers - There is padding on the elbows, shoulders, belly area and back area - There is an inner liner that can be removed for warmer weather and added in during colder season VALUE: If you don't want to spend $200 or more on a jacket, then this is a good choice. It does feel or look cheap and I suspect could sell for a much higher price. This seems like a very good value. If I remember, I'll follow up with an update after the riding season is over. CUSTOMER SERVICE When you get the jacket, there will be several notes asking you to reach out to them via email if you think you want to return it. I recommend doing this. Their customer service was 2nd to none. PS: I also bought the HWK riding pants. They are also very nice. They seems like they'll be quite warm during those summer months, but I'm not sure how you balance protection with staying cool during the summer.

Outstanding Value & protection.....peace of mind & durable for just $60.....why ride unprotected ?
This is a tremendous value for your $60 ! Jacket is comfortable & versatile, zip out winter liner, open ventilation zippers & it can work even in 80+ degree weather IF you are moving. Also good down into the low 50s (cold as I ride), I'm sure down to the 40's with a better thermal than I use. Fit is good, but arms a bit long. I THINK my size is a L (it will say on my review header), and I"m 5'9" and 210# and at that weight, the chest is perfect but the arms are a tad long on me. The real solution is for my weight to drop down below 200, then I'm sure the next size down will be perfect, thanks to my new 18:6 Intermittent daily fasting, I'm now at 204# and jacket is now quite loose on me lol ! The only possible criticism I see is the elbow pad pockets seem to be a tad mis-aligned, so that the pads aren't centered on my elbows perfectly. Not sure if it's was sewed slightly off or if my body is out of alignment with the rest of humanity - probably the latter ! Have their insulated pants and they're perfectly suitable too. Fully the value of gear offered at Cycle Gear, but you can't try on first. I read a ton of these reviews & got the sizing right first try. Cheers - David in Texas

Great Jacket...!!!
Nice jacket, tight fit but it could just be me. I am a fitness buff and stand roughly 6'3" (190.5 cm) and weigh 275 lbs.(124.738 kg). The jacket fits tight in the chest and torso but really tight in the arms. This turned out to be good thing when riding with no drag or the whipping of loose material in the wind. On days I ride to the gym I just removed the inner lining to free up some space especially on "arm day" making it easier to put on. Overall, I am pleased with the construction. Protective barriers inside and out if one were to fall. The inner lining is attached by a zipper and two buttons securing each arm sleeves by the wrist. I unzipped the jacket and unknowingly ripped out one on the buttons. I reattached the elastic hook and button then realized the great utility of having the sleeves attached to the inside of the jacket to facilitate the ease of arm removal without the inner lining riding or bunching up. I would definitely buy this again and upgrade to a XXXL, if and when larger sizes are available. The XXL looks and fits great, just a little snug.

Gracias.

My new favourite moto jacket!
This jacket is awesome for the price. They had a sale on when I got this and it’s a jacket that I’ve been looking at for over a year, and I’m glad that they kept the price competitive, because there’s a lot of comparable options out there otherwise. I’m impressed with the design of this jacket. You feel like Batman wearing this thing. The look is awesome and the colour combination is fantastic! Personally, I think it wins on the best motorcycle designed jacket currently for this price point. The wind protection is 100%. I took this out on an icy day (-3 degrees) and got up to 130kms and I didn’t feel the wind at all. This jacket is thick and solid. I’m not sure how waterproof it is yet, but the wind protection is as good as it gets as far as I can tell. It has a bunch of ventilation pockets and an internal liner, so it should still be quite comfortable during the summer riding and work for the winter. I think this is an all season jacket. The material is very thick, and it seems like it would be very protective if you were able to fall and go into a slide. My only complaint if I did have one would be that the sleeves are a little bit thick where the glove and the wrist connect. The way the Velcro straps up there makes it feel like a bunches up a little bit and it’s not as comfortable as it could be. Small designer, flaw, but such a minimal issue. Hopefully they fix that when they do the next version of this jacket. It’s still very well designed! One thing I really do like about this jacket is that the Velcro is high-quality. A lot of Velcro on these motorcycle jackets suck and they wear out after a while. This Velcro is good quality Velcro that will last for a long time. I think that is a really important note. This is a great jacket and I’m very happy with it! I think HWK is knocking out some high quality moto gear at a good price and I’m looking forward to their future lineup.

Amazing value
Great quality jacket. Material is of quality and feels strong as it should. Fits true to size. I bought large by following the sizing guide but it turned out to be too big. The medium is perfect and thats what I usually wear in shirts. Lots of pockets, windproof. The outside pockets appears to be waterproof.

Amazing value
I do not know how they make this jacket and ship it to me in Australia for just over $100AUD. It is insane vale. Full removable liner, lots of pockets, removable “armour” which to be fair is pretty naff but better than nothing. I am 5’ 10’, medium build and went with Large. Fits quite well. Very happy with it and it seems not much worse than the $500 jackets I looked at in our local motorcycle centres. As long as you choose the right size I can’t see how you can go wrong with these.
