Blue Buffalo Life Protection Formula Fish Adult Dry Dog Food, 30 lb

My dogs love blue buffalo. I know with all the videos going around, people are trying to switch to human grade fresh food, but for some, this is not convenient, nor affordable. If you have multiple dogs or rescue/foster dogs, like I do, fresh food is not always sustainable. Blue Buffalo has been the best brand to all the breeds I have cared for. We have been donated food and it causes poor digestion, immediate gas and other discomfort. Now I will only take Blue Buffalo to feed our dogs. It smells good. I know this is odd, but it doesn't smell like these other brands that causes gas and it leaves them fuller longer. When I pour different food brands into several bowls to give them a choice, they always run to BB first. It is the brand they love to eat, providing the nutrition they need. I have even had a stray cat come and enjoy it over their own food! I used to use a more expensive brand recommended by a vet and I was loyal for decades to that brand. I am so glad I made the switch. The pups have more energy and overall mood is much more pleasant on Blue Buffalo.

Dog has been eating this for 13+ years. Helps keep his irritated skin from flaring up. As he’s gotten older, a little warm water softens it and he devours it. Smells absolutely horrendous , but we love him so he gets it :)

I read a lot about this food prior to making my purchase. My dog recently suffered from life-threatening bloat...amazingly she survived :) To reduce the chances of future bloat I am now feeding her 4-5 times a day instead of only once. After researching, I found that a food high in protein and low in carbs/corn type grains was healthier and possibly less likely to cause bloat (there is very little known as to the causes of bloat so most information is just theoretical...no definitive findings). Well, I was happy to find that Blue Buffalo foods seemed to be tailored to exactly what I was in search of! In addition, my dog suffers from allergies and I had been supplementing her with Alaskan Salmon Oil for added Omega-3 and Omega-6. After reading about the Blue Buffalo Fish & Sweet Potato food I saw that it offered the additional Omega's and that if she was to eat it I would no longer need to do the separate supplement. Everything sounded wonderful! I placed my order and it arrived promptly. I tried getting her to eat the food for about a week or two before I decided it was a no go :( I tried mixing it with hot water for gravy...still, she never did take to it. She is typically a very accepting dog when new foods are introduced...however, with this food she was not. I wasn't bothered by the smell as were some other reviewers, but I'm not surprised by that since I had become accustomed to the salmon oil smell already. All in all, I do wish she had taken to the Blue Buffalo brand foods as I really like the approach they take with the ingredients and preparation methods. I tried her on the Lamb flavor too but she refused that as well. Although my experience with Blue Buffalo brand turned out to be one that wouldn't work, I would still recommend giving it a try for your pampered pup. It is a great food! Great ingredients! And made in the U.S.A. which is a definite plus! My blue heeler/lab mix devours this food. She is very excited to eat when it’s mealtime now whereas before she didn’t really like her food. But we had to go through it since we had so much left. Now that she’s been loving this new addition to mealtime, I’m definitely going to be buying more from this brand!

This. Bag. Is. HUGE!! When we saw this box on our doorstep, we had no idea what it was - maybe a table, huge cutting board, or a piece of furniture? As the owner of two small dogs, we had never gotten a really big bag of dog food before. Enter the Blue Buffalo mega bag! We felt like we were dog owners with a Saint Bernard when we opened up the box and saw this giant bag of fishery for the pups. The dogs had really been enjoying Natural Balance dry dog food that was fish and sweet potato flavor, but it was a little too pricey. We switched to Blue Buffalo gradually and the pups love it just as much, if not more! One of our dogs used to eat wet food, but he really loves Blue Buffalo products even more. It's been substantially easier for us and it's been a lot better for his teeth to eat dry dog food. The wet, raw food he had been eating was leading to a lot of tartar build up and we're really happy that we have him on a food that he likes that's good for his teeth. They've tried the Blue Buffalo chicken flavor as well, but I think the fish is where it's at. For our two dogs (9 lbs and 20 lbs), this mega bag will easily last us months! We love Blue Buffalo products!

I’ve had my 9 year old pound dog for a year now. He has made a terrible mess and leaves food everywhere when he eats. So much so that I wanted to start feeding him outside so the squirrels and birds could clean up after him! This is the first bag of food (I have tried many expensive brands and flavors) that he eats every bite and does not leave a single drop on the floor. Based on this- 5 stars. The sweet dog loves it. Perfect size for my 77 pound dog.
