I bought this cable to record audio from external audio source (iPod, mixing board) directo to phone. It does not work. Is this just to use with mics?

Not sure. I only use it with a shotgun mic with iPhone or iPad

Does this have a slim head to fit without having to take off a phone case?

Its like a normal 90° head phone jack. I dont use it with my phone case on. The phone case is more weight.

Will this adapter work with a windows 10 pc (hp spectre x360 [late 2017]) by plugging it into the 3.5 mm port?

The 3.5 TRS (3Pole) plug is configured for microphones (input). The 3.5mm TRRS can be connected to an iPhone. I'm not sure if we answered your question.

Doesn’t work with IMMERSION RC

Great quality but didn’t work for my application. I tried to use it with IMMERSIONRC and my Sony camcorder to go tapeless. I was thinking the TRS to TRRS would be perfect but it didn’t work. The screen looked glitchy on the IMMERSIONRC. I think it’s because the jack needs to be slightly thicker.

Powerful little cable

Necessary item to have if youre connecting your Rode Wireless Pro to a phone (with a USB-C or Lightning cable to TRS). This is how audio can be transferred, so it's a good one to keep on you.

Junk. Doesn't work.

This does not work at all. None of my devices will recognize the line in/microphone. Directly into a computer, nothing recognized an audio input device. Plugged into an iPhone with an Apple LIghtning to 3.5mm adapter, nothing recognized in any audio recording software or the system. The gray TRRS end is supposed to go into whatever needs the audio in. It isn't user error. This is junk. Save yourself the trouble and find something different.

Cheaper than a new rode go

Bought this hoping to avoid buying a new rode go set as I have the original that doesn't have the new technology to connect with iPhone. This with the lightning cable to 3m adapter saved me around $200+ dollars and connected my original rode go's to my cell phone. Highly recommend if you already own the gear and just need a effect, cheaper fix.
