Easy set-up and great monitoring tools
Title: So far so good Description: Setup was straightforward using the Nighthawk app. Anything that didn't go right resulted in guidance to get things back on track and installation took about 20 minutes as the app said it would. After installation I receive status reports about security actions the router performed to help protect my home network, a great feature that lets me know what the router is doing without wondering if it's really providing any protection.

Happy with performance, not happy my "new" router had obviously been opened.
Honestly, I regret not upgrading sooner. My 800 sq. ft. condo is framed with steel studs/thick walls and my old router signal was struggling to punch through to the front room (my office). 5 GHz was non-exist and the 2.4 Mbps was unstable mess. I swapped in this router today and went from getting 30 Mbps download speed in my office to 200 Mbps. Set up was mostly quick with the longest part being the firmware updates, which only took 15 minutes. The app to manage the router is a nice touch, though I don't know how I feel about a Netgear account being required to use it...company's got to store that information somewhere. The range I suspect would be awesome in a normal apartment with dry wall construction because it's punching through my wifi-hating walls like a beast. I can't wait for my new modem and tower wifi adapter to arrive. The router alone was a stellar improvement, but I think the addition of those two will take full advantage of the upgrade to wifi 7. My only point of frustration is that the router box had clearly been opened and the router removed. The protective plastic bag cover that goes over the router itself in the package was gone and the router looked like it had been wiped down at one point judging by the streaks on the outside of the router. Does this impact the functionality? No. However, I did pay for a NEW router. Some obviously opened this one and used it. New does not mean "looks like new," it means box is unopened and the equipment has never been hooked up. I'm happy to keep this router, but the seriously...the seller should reduce my charge to that of a "used" piece of a equipment. I risked it buying from Amazon, but this is going to be the last risk I take with networking equipment. Too many knock offs, too much bait and switch.

Great router on a budget
Title: Great router on a budget Description: This is a really nice budget friendly router. Works flawlessly in my ranch style home with over 1500 square feet. It also covers my backyard area which is quite away from the router location.

COST effective, great coverage and speeds greater then most residental internets
The Netgear Nighthawk family has been my router(s) for years with great consistent service. Last month a notice of my current wifi6 device was leaving support service (auto updates etc) and it was time to move on. After a search of current Nighthawk offering (lots of pressure to get the BEST) I settled on the RS 100, quite a ways down on the family. I do not have internet service coming in that is greater then 200 MB/sec so buying a 1G+ router is just spending money for NO improvement. I was worried about the range - I have a larger home (>2600sq ft) including a critical Solar system that needs constant Wi-FI access that is in the garage at the longest distance from the router and lots of walls. Result - EXCELLENT - strong levels throughout the house and sufficient power to the far garage wall! What I did MISS, that I didn't check (assumed present) was the NO USB port for a local network storage. That should be made clear (or just put them on all!). A tip - check the signal strength (at all areas) while MOVING the router. - twist , and tip it. I have a basement and an upstairs bedrooms. The configuration that was significantly best was having it laying down (long length horz) and 'facing' the long length of the house. I would definitely recommend it for most all residential homes -

Frequent & consistent connectivity Issues!
Very upset that I replaced my old netgear router with this one. Connectivity issues at least twice a week with no internet or modem issues. It will show its connected, even the app will say its connected when its not. Was fine the first 30-ish days but now, the issues are becoming more frequent.

It caught fire.
It heated up and had smoke coming out of it. Obviously faulty but Amazon have refused to replace or refund. I have been going in circles trying to get a phone number to call Amazon to speak with a human. I have been a very loyal customer of Amazon for decades and spent tens of thousands of dollars. I will never order from Amazon again. Next stop Fair Trading & NCAT.

Gives excellent wifi coverage
Our old router had to have an Orbi system connect to it to give us decent wifi coverage in the backyard. This router, which is connected to fibre at the front of the house, reaches all the way to the back fence, on a 400sm block with no issues at all.

Think twice before getting this router modem
I have had endless problems with this router. Its auto selection of 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz signal confuses my Apple Watch and iPhone. So I turned that feature off and renamed the two networks separately. Now it recognises the faster network but keeps dropping out and eventually won’t let me connect to it. Furthermore, where once I could get a signal anywhere in the house, to connect some things I need to be sitting tight next to the router. After that I can go anywhere in the house or yard and it’s ok. This router tries to be too fancy and it’s giving me a headache as every day I need to reconfigure settings to get it to work properly.

Difficult setup
Very difficult to set up. Spent 2.5 hours on hold before giving up. Had some success with online chat but still too 1.5 hours because chat would drop out when there was any delay in response from netgear or me. Once set up it works well.
