SOLARAY DAO Enzyme 60000 HDU, 30 VegCaps

I eat natural and organic but have been struggling with mystery allergies maybe environmental (mold, cat hair) and also foods. I’m itchy all the time and get hives and flushing in my face along with headaches bloating and diarrhea and extreme fatigue for days. I don’t know why they would hide this information about the supplement but for years I couldn’t figure it out and recently found something about it online and DAO seemed to have helped me immediately. I also take these pills with Quercitin which is also very helpful for histamine intolerance and vitamin C and nettle. I ordered dry peas to sprout (in the dark) produces more of this enzyme. I’m hoping the benefits last and I have just been taking it for a week and noticed major improvements immediately. I’m super sensitive and as of yet have not noticed negative side effects. I did start with one pill a day to see how I would react and worked my way up to 3. I also poured the powder from the capsule in water and drank it and it tasted fine. These are so helpful to have on hand to help with my histamine intolerance. I always have them in my purse. In case I am going to be eating something that typically aggravates my body and causes inflammation. It really helps curb the symptoms.

I have MCAS and I will take these if I am eating a meal that has processed meat that I think might give me gut issues. Even if I don't take it before I eat and I start to have some abdominal pain, one of these nips it in the bud. I wish there were more in the bottle because if I were to take these three times a day there'd only be 10 days worth.

Helps with itching!

I recently found out just how much perimenopause affects digestion and the gut biome and discovered by accident that I am lacking this enzyme. Not because my body doesn't produce it but because my gut is compromised and nearly everything I eat and drink blocks this enzyme from clearing the histamine from food and drink. So on top of starting a low histamine diet to reduce the load in my body overall, I'm taking this enzyme to deal with any histamine in the diet. **It only deals with what you eat at the time you take it, not the histamine already in your body.** I originally bought this at my local health food store but they were on backorder when it came time to buy again so I came here. The value for money is definitely better here; by $30 for the same exact thing. I did read in a few articles that there are no studies on the effectiveness of vegan ingredients for DAO (porcine ingredients have been tested and proven effective) and I may have to switch to a brand that offers the porcine option because even taking two of these before a meal isn't as effective as I need it to be due to the histamine load my body is holding on to. All that being said, if you only have minor reactions to food and drink I feel like this is a good option for you. If you're like me, you probably need to look into a porcine version. When I get through the four weeks of low histamine diet and porcine DAO and feel like everything is cleared out I will likely continue with this version.

These are great for the price! They are not enteric coated, and very strong, which sets my MCAS flares off if taken as-is. But for the price, it's a good deal. So I open the capsules, and divide the contents into 3 doses, and then put those in enteric coated capsules. This works great, I get 90 capsules, 20,000 HDU each, enteric coated, to reach the small intestine intact. Most brands are not enteric coated, and without enteric coating, DAO does not work as well. My experience with this product has not been pleasant. Although, it might have been caused by one of my randomly connected ailments. I really wanted these to work because they're cheaper than the ones I usually use. I was also going out of town and could receive these on the next morning. Alas, it has not worked out. Firstly, I noticed them passing through with nary a nibble. The pill casing wasn't dissolving to the point of rupture. The casing seems thick. Then, one night around 8:00PM, I took one and ate a large apple, some olives and a few crackers. Over the next 10 hours I projectile vomited much more than I thought I had eaten. The last thing to come out? Sitting like a splayed king on his throne, the ruptured pill; still bloating. I'm honestly afraid to take it again. There were moments that scared me. It was a Monday night and now, Thursday night, and my stomach and diaphragm have finally stopped hurting and are just sore. Craziness but not for me apparently.

Have histamine intolerance and these taken 15 minutes before a risky meal definitely help me enjoy some of my favorite foods. I have tried a variety of different types of dao pills and these are my mainstay. Sometimes I take 2 depending on the meal.
