Easy set up and link to network. Piercingly loud alarm locally when water is present and also sends texts to your phone immediately upon detection of water. App is easy to use and intuitive. I installed 5 of these discretely throughout the home, unfortunately AFTER a back up into basement of the house that caused $25k in damage. Highly recommend these units.

These little leak detectors have already earned their place in my house. Setup was intuitive. All but one of the sensors connected to the network without any issues; the last one just needed the battery removed and reinserted before it connected. I bought them after having a few different water-related adventures. One of our bathroom faucets has separate hot and cold handles, and apparently it's surprisingly easy to leave it dripping just a tiny bit. The problem is that the water doesn't necessarily drip into the sink — it can run down the spout and across the countertop. Leave that happening overnight, and eventually you're looking at damaged paint, drywall, and baseboards. Exactly the kind of home project I don't need more of. I placed one of these sensors on the countertop in that bathroom so it will alert me if water makes it all the way to the corner. I also have them near the dishwashers, because I run those overnight and discovering a puddle with bare feet first thing in the morning is not my idea of a good start to the day. I've now outfitted all of our bathrooms and the wet bar. We even managed to test one accidentally when my son stepped out of the shower soaking wet. The siren is LOUD. You also get an alert through the app, so you don't have to be within earshot to know something is wrong. Bottom line: Small, unobtrusive, easy to set up, and well worth the money for the peace of mind.

Over the past two months I’ve had two water-related emergencies, and both times a Govee water leak detector made the difference between a minor fix and a major problem. The first incident involved an old copper kitchen faucet that started leaking directly onto an electrical outlet. I had one of these sensors from a few years earlier sitting nearby. The alarm went off immediately, I shut the water off, and we avoided any damage to the cabinets, floor, or the ceiling/basement below. The second event was even more dramatic. At 3:57 a.m. my phone received three push notifications. I didn’t hear them at the time, but when I woke up at 5:30 and saw them I went straight to the basement. A freak accident had blocked the sump pumps and water was already starting to come in. Because of the early warning we were able to get things under control and essentially save everything. After these two close calls we bought a new multipack so we could place more sensors around the house. Setup in the Govee app is extremely straightforward, simple and effective. For the price, these little sensors have already paid for themselves many times over. Highly recommended.

Setup in govee's app is pretty straight forward. The hardest part not explained in the instructions is bonding the sensor(s) to the hub. Inside the hub you can change the volume of the individual sensors and the hub from off to loud. You can also test the sensors through the app. The hub helps like a wifi booster and allows connectivity at a further distance feom your wifi router. It also emits a siren if one of the sensors trips allowing you to know the sensor is triggered without being next to the sensor. Also the app (if your notifications is turned on) will alert you with a push notification from the app. I like it so far now to see how it acts in an actual flood scenario instead of me dripping water.

We had a basement sewage flood several months ago, that cost tens of thousands of dollars in total, between replacing our sewage pipe and getting our basement back to how it originally was. It was an incredibly stressful time, to say the least. We don't go in our basement very often, a handful of times a week or so. That's how it was able to happen in the first place. These sensors could've REALLY saved us if we had them. So after that happened, it was a no-brainer to buy these leak detectors, and put them everywhere, but particularly the basement. Not even a month later, our kitchen faucet started leaking, and immediately the sensor went off. It is LOUD. It also sent me an alert to my phone, along with an email. The leak had barely just started, and I had already set down a waterproof liner, so there was no damage, and we replaced the faucet ourselves that night. Granted this would've been a lot cheaper to repair than a basement sewage flood, but it still would've been a huge hassle, especially if it warped our cabinets or wooden flooring. I AM SO GLAD we have these now. Well worth the money and peace of mind.

I had a little trouble getting the hub connected but that may have been operator error. One connected I was easy connecting the sensors. Although the instructions were not very clear. Now that they are all in place I would hope none go off. You're able to dry test them as I did and had no problems. Suggested buy if you want it.

I picked these up a little while ago to quell the anxiety in me associated with hidden damages and leaks. They were very easy to set up, and integrated with the hub for an easy access point. You're able to set them up, name them, and receive texts or emails whenever a leak is detected. The alarms are also very loud (which is a good thing), I haven't had any problems and they worked when I tested them with some water.

I live in a wonderfully historic apartment complex. It was built in 1937, and was solidly constructed at a time that labor was cheap but money was scarce. 50 years ago, the owners converted two buildings to condos, upgrading the heating plant, the wiring, and the plumbing. But of course they couldn't rebuild the entire complex, so there were compromises and shortcuts. Now we're approaching the 90th anniversary, we are seeing the results of those compromises, some maintenance mistakes, and simply the passage of time. Water! We have leaks from the roofs, where overhanging trees, and slightly incorrect roof slopes, and doubtful gutter designs sometimes cause backups which eventually cause water damage to units. And we have plumbing which wasn't perfectly installed in the first place, combined with 50 years of hard use, causes pinhole leaks that are amazingly hard to track down. And the brickwork develops cracks and pits, allowing slow seepage, especially where an old repair used improper materials. Every few months we're faced with a $20,000 repair bill for water damage to a unit - big money for a complex with only 50 units. What to do? I searched Amazon for "water sensors" and such like, and stumbled upon Govee. I convinced the condo board to let me experiment with Govee's products, and everything keeps working out better than I expected. Obviously, a water sensor on the floor doesn't PREVENT leaks, nor does it FIX them. But from our experience, the difference between a $2000 repair and a $40,000 repair is whether the leak started in an unoccupied unit where it was left to pool for a month or two before the problem became evident to a neighbor. Almost all of our serious problems occur in the 10% of all units which are unoccupied - not those with people who come and go every day. For $100 and two hours of setup time, we've found Govee's "Smart Water Leak Detector" allows us to catch problems within a few hours. Combine a requirement to allow the condo association to install the sensors, with a requirement to have a local contact with a key, and we're hoping to cut our water damage losses by about half. So far, the only problem we've found with Govee's systems is the generally laborious setup. There's just a lot of clicking and filling in blanks and reading before the system is fully functional. But once it is, we haven't run into any unexpected gaps or failures. Basically, to make the system work, you need Wifi, an electrical outlet, and a phone on which to install their app. You place individual "pucks" on the floor of strategically chosen rooms (bathrooms and kitchens, mainly). Then you plug the base unit into a power outlet and set it up on the wifi system. Whenever one of the pucks discovers it's sitting in enough water to short out the metal prongs it sits upon, the puck notifies the base unit, which then sends out email and text messages to notify whoever was put on the contact list. And maybe every five years, each puck demand fresh AA batteries. Cost: about $10 per puck, $10 for each base unit, and NO monthly charges at all. Plus the time and attention needed to setup the system, and to check once in a while that some fool hasn't picked up the sensor from the floor and put it on a shelf. (That happens more often than you'd think.) One additional requirement is somebody - either volunteers or office staff - to contact unit owners, label and set up sensors, and then make sure at least one responsible person is monitoring the notifications. If you don't have volunteers, the cost of assigning responsibility to office staff might be substantial. I asked the management company for their recommendation - they claim they manage 80 condo complexes - and it turned out they had never heard of such a system. If you're dealing with regular water problems leading to substantial losses, Govee seems like a godsend.

These seem to work pretty well! I already had the Govee Home app, when I plugged the hub in it was instantly there to add. Fill in wifi details and done. Turning on each of the sensor units and they instantly popped up ready to go into that hub in the app. I tested each of them by dipping them in a shallow bit of water, they all alarmed audibly and notified in the app - I had set it to be a “critical alert” so it will sound and show on my (iOS) lock screen even during do not disturb times, that worked perfectly and was easy to do. It can also email an alert, which also worked perfectly! So easy to get from unboxing to done, and now I hope to never hear from them again - until their battery is low at least. Which the app will alert me about in five years - slick!

This is the second group I've bought for these. I find them highly reliable. I was overseas for half a year and rented my place out and was notified by email any time the sensors went off (mostly just due to a little water during cleaning.) They did give a loud warning recently when my washing machine flooded and we definitely got to deal with it faster.

Setup was quick, and it connected easily to WiFi without any hassle. I really like the long-range coverage, which lets me place sensors in different areas like the basement and under sinks while still staying reliably connected. The alerts are fast and give real peace of mind in case of any leaks.

Very good product works efficiently.. I installed three of them in my house after testing them.. sensor is very sensitive my toddler left it on a wet towel and it started beeping.. device beeps , plus there is a notification on phone updating where is leak plus plug in device also sound alarm.. alarm is sharp enough to wake you up from sleep.. installation is simple and easy.. installation of app and understanding it takes a few hours but not hard.. the only reason I gave it 4 star is because it takes some time to detect water and sound alarm, like 5 minutes, and in case of emergency every second matters.. overall great product..

Easy to set up, very reliable. Rather than use the number markers included, I put labels on each sensor identifying location, such as 'Kitchen Sink', 'Main Washroom', 'Ensuite', 'Fridge'- because icemakers on fridges are notorious for leaks, 'Laundry Room', etc.. This item was purchased as a gift. The one I have has been in use over a year and gave me 2 alerts I was able to attend to quickly.
