Setting up the Govee smart water sensors was incredibly easy—one of the smoothest smart‑home installs I’ve done. Detection is blazing fast; the moment water touches the sensor, your phone lights up and the alert blasts loud enough that even the neighbors might wonder what’s going on. Exactly the kind of urgency you want from a leak detector. I did run into a minor issue with the base station, and Govee’s support was outstanding. After I reported the problem, they walked me through a couple of quick tests, asked for a photo to confirm the unit, and immediately shipped a replacement. Fast, friendly, and genuinely helpful—amazing support. For the cost, the whole setup is fantastic. It gives you a real sense of insurance and peace of mind knowing that if anything ever goes wrong, you’ll know instantly. So far, it’s been an excellent experience: fast detection, simple setup, great value, and top‑tier customer service.

Works very very well and easy to install. A nice surprise bonus was that the Govee thermo-hygrometers I already have work better now because their connection to the included gateway is much stronger than Bluetooth-ing them to my phone. The gateway only supports leak sensors, thermo-hygrometers, and temp sensors by Govee - these devices connect to the gateway by Bluetooth and then the gateway serves them to your Wifi network. WiFi Govee products like smart bulbs don't work with the gateway because they directly connect to the Wifi network. Great price, easy setup, and peace of mind. If you're placing one of these to monitor a utility sink that overflows from washing machine discharge, place it under the edge of the utility sink rather than under the p-trap. For all other sinks put it right under the p-trap.

The Govee water leak detector works as designed and was very easy to set up for monitoring from anywhere. Gives me peace of mind.

Set up was fairly easy after going through the instructions on the app a few times. This was a convenient package with the hub and three sensors included allowing us to cover a second floor washer, hot water heater, and low point in the basement. The devices are small and promise five year battery life. I tested the devices with a drop of water which sent me an immediate text phone alert and it generated a very loud audible alert as well. I’ll have to play around with the app, but didn’t see where the text alert differentiated between the three sensors that I had set up so if I were away, I wouldn’t be able to tell where the problem had initiated.

This was super easy to set up with my 10-year-old. We did write the room on the side of the sensor so that that way we knew which room we were assigning it to when we tested them. The alarm was loud and it did not notify me in the app right away. It does go off if you put it on water, so I believe the leak detection part will go without a hitch.

Nice finish, easy deployment and loud alarm. Best, it can handle dozens of sensors without problem. full bar signal on all floors: (attic AC drain pan, 2nd floor, first floor and crawl space water heater). I hope they don’t change or alter their app and become an Ad banner like others

I had purchased the gateway/water leak detection package a few months ago and was really pleased with the products. When I had to purchase a complete new wifi system because the vendor stopped supporting the hardware, I was not able to connect the gateway to my new wifi setup. After trying all the self help,I was still unable to connect my gateway. I contacted Govee support for assistance. The customer support was great. They mailed a package with a new gateway and sensors. The installation was a breeze and my gateway and sensors connected without a glitch.

I am extremely happy with the GoveeLife Smart Water Leak Detector. I originally purchased these simply for added peace of mind, and I'm so glad I did. The other day, we had a pipe develop a slow leak in the lower level of our house. I had placed one of the leak detectors in that area because it's near our main water shutoff valve. Thankfully, the detector alerted me within seconds of detecting the leak. Because of the immediate notification, I was able to get to the area right away, identify the problem, and call a plumber before the leak caused any significant damage to our floors or the surrounding area. If it hadn't been for these leak detectors, I might not have discovered the leak for a couple of days, and there's no telling how much water damage we could have ended up with. This product gave me exactly the peace of mind I was hoping for, and it proved its value when it mattered most. I would absolutely recommend the GoveeLife Smart Water Leak Detector to anyone looking to protect their home from unexpected water leaks.

Installed them in Nov 2025 and haven’t had any issues with them. No false alarms and easy to install. App is user friendly and easy to navigate. The Insurance company approved it as a flood monitoring app. Battery still working. Small pods so you can hide them behind toilets or under furniture.

Easy to set up and gives a peace of mind knowing you are protected. Would recommend it as a minimum staple in any house.

Very good product works efficiently.. I installed three of them in my house after testing them.. sensor is very sensitive my toddler left it on a wet towel and it started beeping.. device beeps , plus there is a notification on phone updating where is leak plus plug in device also sound alarm.. alarm is sharp enough to wake you up from sleep.. installation is simple and easy.. installation of app and understanding it takes a few hours but not hard.. the only reason I gave it 4 star is because it takes some time to detect water and sound alarm, like 5 minutes, and in case of emergency every second matters.. overall great product..

Excellent produit, très fiable, j’en ai même acheté 11. Au départ, j’étais un peu perplexe et je ne savais pas trop à quoi m’attendre. Après avoir fait le test, j’ai été pleinement rassuré : le produit fonctionne comme prévu. L’application est superbe, mais la configuration demande un peu de patience.
