The Hisense 65U8QG is one of the first TVs on the market to have a usbc port with DP Alt Mode (DisplayPort Alternate Mode) on it. so you can plug your portable device straight into the USB C port for a video signal. however I wanted another hdmi port instead of a USB C port, That's where the KIHENG HDMI to USB-C Adapter comes to the rescue. I plug my Nintendo Wii component cable into a component to hdmi converter that does no upscaling. then I plug that hdmi cable into the KIHENG HDMI to USB-C Adapter that converts the hdmi signal into a usb cable signal. I then run a USB 4 C cable from it to the USB C port on the side of my TV and poof, works like a charm. it can handle 480P signals with no noticeable input lag that I can tell, and does no upscaling itself, allowing your TV to receive the pure signal. I have not experienced any audio drop outs, crackling or quality problems for audio or video. 5 Stars.

This works exactly as expected and it has been nearly a year since I have purchased it. I first bought a different product that was not recommended for my Rayneo Air 3s because it was cheaper and very soon regretted it and still had to end up buying these anyway. Don't try to cheap out and just get these as recommended by Rayneo

FINALLY a solution for my PS5 to XReal One Pro's. I tried many HDMI to USB-C adapters, and this one worked instantly. Not sure why the other ones failed but for my setup now: Power cable (included with the product), XREAL One Pro w/ original cable both connected to the adapter. Then HDMI cable on the other end of the adapter to my PS5. My HDMI cable supports 4k and the USB box that the power is connected to and plugs into my power strip is 65w rated. I will update my review if any issue comes up over time but its working as expected and I'm happy.

KIHENG has contacted me and we discussed the details of my problem. They said their conclusion is that I received a defective unit and have sent me a new one. I'm going to assume the new one will work fine. I'll know next week when I receive it. If it doesn't work I'll edit this review. The idea is good and it's fine when it works. I use these with RayNeo Air 4 Pro AR/XR Glasses. If I run the glasses from my phone or laptop, all I need to do is connect them with a USB-c cable and they get power. But my HDR+ video only comes from my stuff that only has HDMI outputs. So I need a powered adapter like this to get power from the HDMI to the glasses. This adapter works for the most part but it requires me to turn the source on and then plug in the glasses. If I turn the source off again and turn it on later, I have to unplug the glasses and plug them in again to get this adapter to recognize them. Sometimes I have to plug them in several time before they're recognized. For items that don't require this adapter I don't have to do this. Unfortunately, I didn't figure out the problem soon enough and I'm beyond my return period. I wonder if another sample of this would work better.

This adapter works for the two use cases I had for it. First, from a Windows laptop to a portable display, and second, from a PC running Linux to a large desktop display monitor. The second situation did exhibit brief display blank-outs about five minutes into each session. No definitive cause, but those blank-outs were never seen when the PC was connected to the monitor directly with HDMI. Aside from proper resolution video, USB keyboard and mouse were always passed through as expected. In use, the adapter runs warm. I measured it about 105F. I selected this form factor over most other similar products because I prefer to supply all my own cables, and not rely on short captive cables as in the other products.
