Works well for my mom to give her back some core support and hold in the hernia. Not noticeable under clothing. Good Velcro strength and hold. Easy to use. Fit and design is as described.

The belt itself has a Velcro “bulge” that helps to keep the hernia from protruding. That bulge helps but isn’t nearly enough to actually keep the hernia pushed in. I was suffering from intestinal blockage because of the size of the hernia (2.5” diameter) yet surgery is not an option. I was having to walk around with my finger pushed into the hernia hole so that the intestines could function properly. This belt, coupled with a “plug” that was molded from Polly Plastics moldable plastic provided the solution. The hernia gets pushed back into the abdomen and then the plug is put in place. A cloth is put over where the belt overlap will be (that can get uncomfortable after 24 hours) and then the belt is put on. The belt has enough tension that it holds the plug in place. It is a comfortable support and, short of a hard cough, the hernia stays put. Now I can at least heal from the intestinal blockage issues. The setup is comfortable to wear day and night. It is a very good solution for me until surgery can be had. One of the features of the belt is that it has stiffeners sewn into it in two places which helps to keep it from scrunching up in the back. That greatly helps in keeping the full, comfortable support of the belt after a long day. I was uncertain about the belt size because the waist is 36 but the belly would be about 40. The small/medium belt was chosen and it has worked VERY well. There is enough elasticity in the belt that it could go a bit larger than 40”, but since it takes pressure to hold a hernia in then this belt size proved to be a winner for that purpose.

Well looks like I’m gonna give this belt a try. Hopefully it’ll help my umbilical hernia while I exercise. Just wish it was more snug even after pulling on it. But pretty cool. Update: It worked well during my work out. I had to adjust it a few times but it worked. Hernia didn’t hurt during workout. It was comfy. For those who are confused on how to use the belt. The “nipple” hard part of the disk pad goes against your belly button. It keeps the hernia in place if you will. Took me a few times to adjust it but worked just fine.

I’ve used a dozen core/waste bands over the last year and a half and this band is “hands down the best!!!” The others were either to wide, or to thin, the fastener would not stay attached, they used rubber that made me sweat and cause skin irritation, the material was poor quality and would start wearing and lose form and fit in a short amount of time or were just to uncomfortable to wear for any length of time! This band is sturdy, breaths, the fastener is well made and does not lose it’s hold even when working out or performing other physical tasks and I can wear this over an under garment (tee shirt) and wear a Dress or casual shirt over it tucked in and bloused up slightly and it is not visible. I really like this one and highly recommend it to anyone who needs abdominal/core/Back support. In my opinion there are only (2) Cons: 1) The Hernia pad is too rigid and uncomfortable as well as being to deep, causing pain at the sight it is place upon. 2) It prints your skin somewhat but I didn’t feel that it was a problem because I wear mine pretty tight! *Those are the only Cons and neither one is a problem. I suggest not using the indent pad. The material is strong and flexible, and in my opinion it’s not necessary. If your on the fence about buying another waist support band for any reason, this one will not disappoint! Like I mentioned earlier I’ve tried quite a few and this by far has been the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of wearing. Good luck! God bless you. Sincerely, -Bruce

My first hernia belt. Needed to buy a new one every three weeks. Velcro wore out. Stretched out. Too thin. Get the beige one that is wide and super sturdy. That one has lasted montns with so much support, I forget I have a hernia. This blue is a waste of money, I know, I went thru 3 in a few weeks

This belt worked great for the first 2 months or so. The compression is nice and the belt itself is comfortable compared to others i've worn. The reason I'm only giving 3 stars is because the velcro wears out pretty quickly. I now find myself tightening or loosening the belt to try to find a place where the velcro will still "stick" and not come undone while I wear it. Update 02/15/19: Originally I gave this belt a 3 star rating as you can see my reason above. I responded to the comment left and received one of the improved belts very quickly, within a couple of days. The customer service was fantastic, probably the best I've had with any product. As for the new belt, it appears to be much much better. The velcro strips have been moved in a little so the sharp corners and edges aren't cutting and scratching you like they did on the previous model. After using the improved belt for a month, so far, the velcro "sticking power" seems to be better as well. Though the previous model wasn't totally worthless after 1 month, there were velcro issues and I could tell it wouldn't be long before it wouldn't stick at all. The velcro on the new model is still holding strong and I do not notice it weakening prematurely as on the previous model. I am very pleased with both the customer service and the improved belt. It is now my intentions to stay with Everyday Medical and order a new belt from them once this one eventually wears out.

It is rare that I leave a review, but this belly belt is so good that I want to tell anyone that it could benefit. After the birth of my second child my diastasis recti has about 2 inches of separation And for over two years I had horrible pain in my back and hips. I can wear this all day and it does not feel uncomfortable, I was surprised by that. This thing that has blown my mind is the most is the fact, that my pain is gone. No more hip, back or abdominal pain. I am so impressed, I love this belly band, and I have tried many others.

I would have given this five stars if not for a couple things. 1. It's advertised as being able to be worn under shirts/pants without being detected, but when I wear it, nothing fits and I look as if I've gained ten pounds or more. 2. No matter how hard I work to tighten it, it tends to want to slide down. This is likely a fault of the body, not the belt! 3. I've found it difficult to get it to stay where I want it to while pulling far on the other end to affix it...and it definitely takes practice to get the two ends of the belt to line up. (If you don't, it'll chafe you.) Otherwise, the construction is very good and the built-in protrusion really does do a good job of keeping the hernia retracted. (Mine is not relocatable; if I push it in, it pops right back out. It is likely the largest umbilical hernia ever known to medical science; I estimate its size at over 3". No, I'm not kidding. I got it after an auto accident and while a chiropractor was adjusting me while I lay face down on his table. What had been a tiny hernia --- about as big as the tip of your little finger...for years --- immediately ripped into a giant, Alien movie-like monster that caused me immediate nausea and heart attack feeling.) Now that I've put it in context, it should carry weight with you when I say that when I wear this belt, get the protrusion properly centered and get the belt tight enough, I don't feel any of the god-awful discomfort I've learned to live with every day. Why not have surgery? Well, I'm a scaredy cat for one. Second, I know people who have had surgery on much smaller hernias than mine...and have needed repeated follow-up surgeries due to complications. I also have done enough reading of the medical literature to know that hernia surgeries tend to be associated with lots of --- potentially serious --- complications. Until mine is so bad that I can't stand it, I'm biding my time. If you're biding your time, too, I urge you to try this belt. It might be just what the doctor, uh, ordered.

Trust me it def works. BUT you'll definitely need to know your exact size and if you think you're overweight and have a lot of belly fat, it won't work. Don't be deluded by this stuff, but if you have the right belly fat like me, you won't see it. But for me, I love it hahaha I'm sure this product is more better than belly fat press underwear

This was selected after a lot of research. The reason being shape of the silicone pad would fit into my navel and keep everything in place until my surgery. Plus the description also said it could be used after surgery. Holding the hernia in has made me feel so much comfortable that I have been able to return to a wider range of exercise in the gym and at home so in only a week my muscle control had significantly improved to the point where I could hold my tum in without pinching the hernia even when I wasn't wearing the belt.# The belt is very comfortable, although it is best worn over a tea shirt rather than against the skin. I do have one little reservation and that is the positioning of the two stiffening strips. depending upon your waist size and the amount of overlap of the fastening the stiffening strips can work out to be in a position that dig in a bit. If these could be easily removed or repositioned this belt would be perfect.
