Buyer beware quality issues and expensive
Subject: Avoid Torras: £400 down the drain and unsafe "Premium" hardware I purchased two "Special Edition" Torras neck coolers for £199 each—a total investment of nearly £400—expecting a premium, durable product. Instead, I have been left with two pieces of expensive, useless hardware that I would urge others to avoid. Here is the reality of their quality: Despite the premium price tag, both units have only been used for two summers of light, seasonal activity. The battery life has completely failed, taking nearly eight hours to charge for minimal runtime. The interior cooling plates are now delaminating. This is not just a performance issue; it is a serious safety hazard, as the material is peeling and scratching my neck, making the devices impossible to wear safely. When I contacted Torras support, their response was dismissive. Despite the clear evidence of premature failure and material degradation, they hid behind a 180-day warranty policy and offered me an insulting 10% discount to buy more of their products. I am not looking for a coupon; I am looking for a company to stand behind the quality of their high-end line. I purchased these units expecting the premium quality advertised, regardless of the brand's origins. However, for a product at this price point, I expected a much longer lifespan than two summers of light use. If you are considering spending your hard-earned money on a "Special Edition" Torras product, be aware that you are buying disposable tech that will likely fail and degrade within a couple of years. Torras, your "goodwill" offer is not good enough—do better.

Life saver!
I use this almost everyday in the warm/hot seasons (basically not winter by me). I haven’t tried the heat part yet. I used it while in my third trimester of my pregnancy and it was a life safer. It works best indoors, but can be used outdoors and the cold feature would be good for outdoors in the heat. I love all the different features, it’s pretty quiet, and the location of the fans. It’s the only one I could find that doesn’t pull in my hair. Others get caught on your hair repeatedly, like 10+ times a day, and it’s painful. It is on the more expensive side, but it’s worth every penny for the high quality you get. It also has an app you can use to change between fan speeds, and turning the cool or heating on/changing their levels. I’m sooo happy I got this!

Sadly fans recirculate air.
Cooling plates can definitely drop body temperature as it says. The apps Great going from cold to hot. I wish there was a way to shut the fans off. The only air you get is circulated. So the cooling plates around your neck bad ass. But the warm Nevada air blowing in your face is crazy. With what the cooling plates do, plugged in to a power bank. I wear a fly fishing vest, With a big powerbank Ive run this 9 hours uninterrupted with the original battery still at 100%. Just at times I wish we could shut those fans off. Cooling plates keep my body temperature below 65 and keep me upright. Purchasing this was one of the best decisions ive made. In my 26 years with multiple sclerosis.

Genuinely ice cold, still testing the battery
I am revising my original review. The unit I purchased appeared to have been faulty: after a short period of use, it shut down before the battery was completely drained. I was about to send it back when a fresh heatwave prompted me to give it a second try: it restarted, but after a while died again in mid-action, with battery at 55%. After I processed the return and shipped the faulty unit back, I was contacted by a Torras representative. I would give Five Stars for customer service alone. I received very personal and accommodating support, and a free replacement unit which was shipped to a different location where I am currently traveling. As I'm now enjoying a cooler spell, I haven't needed to use it much, but I have received detailed care instructions to make sure the battery gets calibrated properly (which turned out to be pretty much what I did to start with, by accident): let the battery drain completely the first few times around, and recharge to 100%. After that, treat as any other lithium battery and keep the charge between 20% and 80% or so. That last recommendation might be hard to follow, when traveling and unable to recharge the unit on the go. I will report on my further experience, but here are some thoughts: • WEIGHT: it isn't super light. As a petite woman, I find it most useful when stationary - it's not something you'd want to run with (but then who wants to run in 90+ degree weather anyway) • COMFORT: weight and comfort go together, but it's not so heavy as to make me uncomfortable when just sitting or moving around the house. I noticed that reviewers of other neck fans complained about tightness. I can't say how this would feel on someone much bigger, but there is ample room, and the device has a built-in hinge at the center, encased in rubber, that allows you to open it wider, and the circumference feels like it could easily accommodate a larger individual • EFFECTIVENESS: Indoors, I think it actually does a great job. There is a stream of really cold air plus the unit itself is cold to touch (I had some family members try it on for size and esp. some women found it "too cold"). There are 3 cooling setting C1, C2, C3, but if you pair it with a phone app, you can add a couple in-between settings. There is also just a plain fan (I haven't used that at all - I need the ice-cold - but after I've cooled off, C1 is sufficient). Outdoors: It is less effective - the ambient heat just seems to absorb and neutralize the cool air emitted by the fan, but the cool touch of the panels does bring some relief. • EFFICIENCY: I need to test the new unit in terms of battery power. The original one I returned was clearly faulty; however, at C2-C3, it seemed to last a few hours. The maximal advertised might perhaps be achieved in the fan-only mode. • PORTABILITY: I am currently traveling with it, and expect it will be a salvation if I ever get stuck again on a broken train in the middle of nowhere during a heat wave... But you must prioritize: added to other electronic devices, it might be too much, going off the grid - short-lived, but then great for more urban travel, when you can pack light and accommodate the device. It comes with a handy (and sturdy) case, and a USB-C to USB-C charger. Can be recharged using a power bank. One thing to note, if you are considering other brands, there aren't that many that generate genuinely cold air. Most are just fans (even if they have cool blue squiggles coming out of the vents in the product image). So if you're looking for just a plain fan, you might find something lighter / cheaper. But this is one of the few I've seen that effectively uses the Peltier effect to generate cool air. Plus, it's nice to know you can count on great customer service. >>>To be continued.

Look no further if you want an AC neck fan. Trust me.
38y/o male. US size 10.5 As someone who can out-sweat a heard of cattle, I now own two. First, yes they have cooling plates and they get cold. Very cold. I've been through numerous neck fans and some are great fans but I needed next level and this is it! It works very well.amd is powerful . Here's all u need to know: Full charge from empty about 1-1.5 hours depending on rate of charge. Even off a power bank. I own a 50k mha Fan feature push selector button on left neck once F1- low speed will last about 20 hrs F2 - medium will last about 12 hours F3 - high will last about 8 hours Cool feature push selector button on left neck once C1- cool w/low fan ≈ 4-6 hours C2- cool w/med fan ≈ 3-4 hours C3- cool w/high fan ≈ 2-3 hours *powerful Heat feature hold selector button on left neck Not a clue...probably will never use it unless ice fishing or shoveling snow. So more to come The case is great. Fits the fan well with very little rattle..comes with a USBC to USBC cord, no power brick. Comfort: it's a little tight at first but the silicone neck strip will break in over a few uses and be more comfortable to your neck. After a few uses. Very comfortable. Not too heavy. May be a little heavy for elderly. Cooling plates feature too cold for elderly (75+) even on low. I've tested it in a few church members Noise: very quiet for spectators and user On any fan level 3 mode it's a little loud to carry on a conversation at 20 feet without other person raising their voice Durability: very well made and Hope they last. I have a tan one that beeps with mode changes. My black one doesn't. Just something I noticed
