I was very pleased and impressed with how quickly the remote connected to both my (10+ year-old Vizio) TV and my (1-year-old Roku Express) streaming media player. I entered the listed codes manually, for both devices. In both cases, the first code listed worked like a charm. I'm not very techy, but after reading and following the instructions, it all went very smoothly for both devices. I love that the buttons light up, and are a good size to read. They feel just a little spongey when pressed (I prefer a more defined, firm, "click" feel for buttons), but it was manageable. When entering numeric codes that ended with 5, I had to push the 5 twice to get it to light up and connect. Not sure whether that was intended/designed, or a result of the spongey-ness. I also have a (5-year-old Samsung) DVD player whose remote had been corroded over time. I purchased what I thought was the replacement remote for the model/serial number, but it didn't work. It's possible my DVD player is old enough that dedicated remotes are no longer available. That was my initial reason for trying this universal remote. I hoped the universal remote would control all the same functions as the old, included DVD remote. This universal remote does power my DVD player on and off, and it does open and close the DVD drawer. But I couldn't get it to show the DVD menu (for options like subtitles or special film features). I manually entered every code listed for a Samsung DVD player, and some of those codes did work to power on/off, and open/close the drawer. I then cycled through the instructions to let the remote seek and find its own codes, with the same result. I tested a few different DVDs, but never could get as far as playing the movie, so I couldn't test pause, fast forward, or rewind functions (I saw only the opening FBI warning screen and producer logo screens). Maybe my DVD player is just finally dying, and no remote can help. On closer inspection, I realized that this universal remote's description and instructions indicate only that it will power on/off and open/close DVD players; there is nothing that says it can access DVD menus or control playback. It's possible a newer DVD player might accept more codes or connect with more DVD functions. So overall, this is a really great remote for at least TVs and Streaming; it may work very well with newer, fancier DVD players and other components as well. The instructions are clear, and set-up was fully complete within 30-60 seconds for 2/3 of my devices.

Love this remote the weight and size is great. It’s so nice to have it light up and it was so simple to connect to the tv. Very easy to use too. It was very reasonably priced and functional.

Liked: 1. Quick to setup Roku, Bose, and Sony devices. Comes with an easy manual and code list. And the setup took just 10 minutes. 2. The device is light and small. 3. Even the * on Roku works on this remote. Including the shortcuts to Netflix, etc. 4. Master Volume control instructions allow volume control across all devices. Dislike: 1. Need to point the remote almost directly to the devices. I think thats because the battery is AAA and the signal strength is low. I wish it was stronger, with AA battery. I am willing to pay double for that: manufacturers, if you are listening. 2. The buttons are really TiNY. I wish they were twice the size, especially the mute, and the device buttons and the dvd buttons. They do have enough space on the remote to make it twice the size. The streaming buttons are perfect sized. 3. It drains batteries. I have to recharge batteries every 2 months or so. I think this is because the backlight comes on every time you press a button and stays on for a few seconds. That is such a waste. They need to have a way to turn off the backlight. Overall, still good. Tips: Use the home button to check your Roku. And read the included manual for useful tips, like how to ‘Enable master volume’ and how to enable other features.

The remote to my tv stopped working & reaching for the buttons on the back grew old real fast. And the use of separate remotes for 3 devices was already annoying. This remote is easy to program. The light colored buttons make it easy to locate on my dark upholstery & I like their placement. Mute is very important when commercials are a possibility, so I prefer it in an easily accessible location. The blue backlight is brighter than necessary, but it’s certainly easy to read in the dark! lol I like the compact size of the remote. But as another has mentioned, the rounded back isn’t a great design, as the remote tends to roll off the arm off the sofa too easily. I was surprised to find a universal remote, with all the features I wanted at this price…I hope it stands the test of time!

Nice remote which was really easy to set up with my tv. It lights up by pressing any button. Works well.

This is a great remote to use in low light areas like a bedroom! When you push any button, all the buttons light up so you can see the channel numbers on the buttons. It worked great and was easy to make it work with my TV.

not multicolor as shown on picture some buttons do not work and sometimes become unresponsive

I really like this remote. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is becaause their codes don't work for everything, but probably no remote can actually claim that. It immediately worked for my new Vizio TV. There are a couple functions on my Vizio that this doesn't operate, but I've pretty much learned to get around it. They only have One Code for my NVidia streaming box. Their one code Doesn't work. I tried everything and yes I did the thing where you let the remote tell you which code to use. There are 4 numbers in the code and the code it gave me was the exact same one code that they had listed. I went to their website and asked about it, but they never did get back to me. I don't know why they give you the website and then blow you off. I guess they're not concerned about a $10 remote. So, I'm back to using my NVidia remote again. The other thing I don't like is that their numbers aren't marked well. I've only had my remote a few days and the word SETUP (button at the top), is already wearing off. So, now I'm wondering if all my button designations will be wearingg off soon. But, on the plus side, I absolutely LOVE the blue Backlit light that lights up whenever you touch a button. I use my remotes a lot at night, so I really appreciate it. The backlit keys are the reason I purchased this. Some people say that their backlight stops working after a while. I hope not. What I would really like, is to find a better remote that has a backlight, but not many remotes have that function. I do recommend this remote. Just understand that you're buying a cheap remote and maybe it will work on your devices and maybe it won't. I'll continue to use it for my TV, but I do wish it had worked for the NVidia, because I like playing games at night. Thank you for reading my review.

Bought GE 40081 so we could control TV, volume, Roku (Telstra TV) etc from one remote. Works with Telstra TV out of the box and only took a couple of minutes to program for our TV and Bluray/Home theatre system. Has a comprehensive list of codes included for hundreds of devices. The backlight is also great and fast delivery from US 👍👍👍

¡Me encantó! Ya tenía un control universal de la misma marca, pero después de 10 años de uso continuo se dañó el botón de OK. Por eso busqué otro igual o parecido. No tuve que configurar nada: venía listo para Roku y Samsung, solo le puse las pilas y funcionó de inmediato.
