Works on 1996 Ram 2500 4x4 front coil springs
I used this spring compressor on a 1996 Dodge Ram Cummins 2500 4x4 front coils springs. So long as you use the vehicles weight to help compress the springs, they work perfect. I did not feel there was any danger at all and I’ve done a-lot of shady stuff in my life. No damage to threads or tool whatsoever. Seemed like light work for them actually, though I know it wasn't. Just be careful.

Excellent For On Vehicle Preload Adjustments
I've been needing to adjust the preload on my King 2.5's for a while now to correct for vehicle lean. You can take the chance of hoping you don't strip your shocks threads, or you can guarantee yourself a clean adjustment with this compressor. I was able to finish preload adjustments on one side of my vehicle in 20-30 minutes with my coilovers still installed on the truck. They fit snuggly and even without the retaining hoop, I didn't once feel like this thing was going to slip. It stayed in place perfectly. They appear very well built and should handle mild jobs like this for a long time with no issue. It wouldn't surprise me if they last a lifetime. The design is perfect for tight spaces, which is the only reason this adjustment was so successful. I would recommend 100% for those who have coilovers on their vehicles.

No issues
The Tool seems well built. It worked well and kept me from getting injured or killed by the springs. It holds well and I like the attachable cage and the clamps on the bottom. I will update if I run into issues or if it breaks.

Shankly DN B1067 broken jaw spring compressor tool
DO NOT USE THIS CHEAP MADE COIL SPRING COMPRESSOR it finally after few usage jaws broke off and I am lucky that did not get hurt today on 5/28/2021. and I hope this tool has not hurt anybody else as I had funny feeling about low quality of this tools although slim and handy design but it must be a clone design made in China and I will upload photos later.I bought this coil spring compressor set for being a good slim design for newer European cars such as BMW which I used it first time and was hesitant to compress the spring any further with this tool to avoid breaking the tools using a 1/2 inch drive air gun slowly. this tools kit came without instructions to begin with A total irresponsibility for the sake of first timer use and safety purpose. I suppose if someone get hurt and or die they don't seems to care about it except saying sorry it happen and may be just selling the tool seems to be more important unless the seller has no idea what he is selling like a kids toys. Also instead of sending me an email asking how this tool worked out and any issues with rather than saying we stand behind it till in few years we won't hear back from since may be somebody is dead you won't be able to hear from him then or if injured badly then you will hear from him. however; I had to figure it myself but there are 3 rows of jaws that only two would fit around the coil spring and the middle ones won't grab any part of coil spring and just let it hang in there between the two jaws and also could not compress the coil spring any further when trying to put new strut mount cap back on because of not enough trust in using the tools having seen the jaws are not made of high quality rigid steel and at least it does not look like as I have handled and seen many tools in my past 30 years of line of work and had used another set of coil spring compressor with better capability of compressing the spring and still not sure if I want to keep this set of tools with reading one review I read that a first time user had a broken jaws holder broke on him. that's very scary to see a coil spring breaks loose as result of tool failure however; and for your information we are willing top pay more for a tools that is built more rigid and safe enough that is not needing to worry about accident as result of lower quality made tools or the important part of.

Overall good product but has design issues
Generally speaking this compressor set is billed as being "heavy duty". While that may be the case in comparison to the cheaper $30 pair of compressors, I didn't find these as fitting of their description. Somehow I expected a beefier set, with more weight and most importantly larger diameter jack screws. But that wasn't the case. These screws weren't that much bigger than the cheaper variant and the bolt head size is 17 mm, which is different (smaller) than all of the other spring compressors I've used. The bolt head on the $30 set for example is 21 mm.I suppose that the most noteable aspect of my experience with these compressors was the connecting bar. I found it clunky and difficult to use. The screws that hold it into place merely thread into the connecting hook. This is hardly sufficient, even when you cinch it down well with the hex key. I would have expected the bolt to be longer and for there to be a nut on the opposite side; but there wasn't. So what happened in my case was that these short-in-length bolts would come undone even by the slightest movement of the assembly. And that resulted in compressor walk, which is the very thing that the connecting bar is supposed to prevent. Granted the compressors weren't under much tension at that point, but still, the walk shouldn't have occurred. If I ever use the connecting bar again I will make a trip to a big box store first to source some longer bolts of the same diameter and pitch, as well as locking nuts for the ends of those bolts. If you could fasten the connecting bar more securely then perhaps it might hold. The final aspect of this connecting bar experience was that one of the hooks bent during the compression cycle. That made things a real pain during decompression. Inline with my general feedback I would have liked to have seen those hooks be made of thicker material. I'm tempted to replicate them on a laser jet but of a greater thickness. Just not sure it would be worth the effort considering the following: I found that the best approach was to use these "heavy duty" compressors in conjunction with the $30 variant, as seen in the second picture. That combination gave me the most peace of mind, knowing that no single compressor would hold approximately 1/2 of the tension at any point in time. Due to the size, I think it would have been difficult to use 4 of these "heavy duty" compressors, but with the smaller size of the $30 stuff, it was a good fit.And so that would ultimately be my recommendation. The one downside is that you must continually change your socket from 21 mm to 17 mm and back when operating like this.As a PS note: I greased these screws and ran them through several times. The instructions that come with the product state that you *CAN* use an impact wrench while the ones online say not to do that. Thus it would be good if that discrepancy could be resolved. I used an impact on all 4 and didn't experience any issue. Good luck!
