Smith And Nephew Skin-Prep Protective Wipe - Model 420400

As a type 2 diabetic, I find this barrier film wipe to be effective and easy to use. I protects my skin when I apply my CGM (Dexcom G7) and the over-patch. I do not use a barrier film, I get something that looks like a chemical burn/blister wherever the attaching adhesives touch my unprotected skin. The Dexcom CGMs are supposed to run for 10 days. It only takes a few hours for my unprotected skin to skin to react to the adhesives. This product has helped me immensely. I don’t have to worry about the intense itching and burning I have endured without it, previously. It is also a relief to not have open sores due to the blistering that can occur when I don’t apply a barrier film. I’m sure others have encountered this issue. I have also found this same barrier film as a spray. It helps tremendously. I just spray it liberally on the area to which I want to apply my CGM and over-patches, let it dry, then apply my device and over-patches, rub my finger over the device and patches to be sure the adhesion is strong, then go about my business. Lasts the whole 10 days without fear of irritation, itching, burning, or residual blisters/sores. I am much happier using this product. It is far better than any other product I’ve tried. Have used these in my line of work for ostomies. They work great to help the appliance stick well. I purchased these for personal use. Needed to get something to assist in keeping my husbands Dexcom on. This as well as the overlay stickers work perfect. He is in the pool EVERY day and it does not loosen.

After reading somebody else's review, I took their suggestion and put on two or three coats of the skin prep, and let it dry, before I put on kinesiology tape. I use K Tape for RA. The tape is great, but when I take it off, it can really irritate my shoulders to the point of bleeding. But after three coats of this stuff and letting it dry, the kinesiology tape applied wonderfully, stayed on for 48 hours, and when I carefully took it off, there was only a slight bit of irritation. That's a huge improvement over what my skin used to look like after 48 Hours of K Tape.

I've used this skin prep many times on other people with no problem. I got it for myself and it makes my super sensitive skin itch like crazy. It really is s good product even if i can't use it myself.

They sanitize the skin like an alcohol wipe while offering a sticky surface for glucose monitoring devices and insulin delivery systems.

Great product, I use them for glucose monitor sensors and the clear covers to protect sensor (work as an auto technician and it keeps them from catching on things while working).

My mom is allergic to the adhesive for libre2, but these things made it feasible for my mom to find an easy space to monitor her glucose. Magical little wipes that serve as barrier between skin and adhesive if the livre2 glucose arm monitor. So happy my mom’s nurse recommended this vs the alcohol swabs that come with the libre2 products.

Product was exactly what I ordered. Works well to protect skin from adhesive and makes adhesive stick better in sweaty months.
