RFX | Smart Wireless Meat Thermometer | Wi-Fi & Radio Frequency | Stronger Signal Than Bluetooth | Meat Probe for Use in Smoker, Grill, BBQ, Oven - 2-Probe Kit

We bought the RFX meat thermometer because we wanted accurate and continuous temperature monitoring while smoking meat on our smoker. We've realized over years of smoking meat that temperature really does matter in making an amazing finished product! In the past, we have had problems with bluetooth thermometers losing connection so we were intrigued by this thermometer's wifi capabilities. The set-up was easy. Once we got it connected to our wifi (note, only works with 2.4 gHz wifi signal), we used it to smoke a brisket on our Recteq Smoker. The Recteq has a very thick metal lid and would always block the bluetooth signal on other thermometers. However, the RFX thermometer connected quickly and gave a continuous temperature read throughout the entire cook time. We used other probes to test the temperature accuracy and the temperature was accurate throughout the whole smoking process. We did notice that it had a hard time emitting a signal through foil once it was wrapped. We will use parchment in the future. It was nice to monitor the temperature from the app! We have been really happy with this thermometer and highly recommend it!

I really wanted this item to work. I had an old I-Grill that was ok, but the app, wires, and lack of range was a killer. I have an instant read Thermoworks, and it is great. How could the RFX not be? Wireless, long range, app that seems to be kept up to date. First cook on Thanksgiving ‘25. One probe dead battery after about an hour. Ok, newbie screw up. Second cool Christmas ‘25, not having the same problem. Charged everything days before, again the night before the cook. Same probe dead in an hour. Reached out to customer service, was told that I did not clean the probes enough for the charger to make contact. Cooked again, trouble probe made it 2.5 hours. Have up until a week ago. Charged everything. Dead in less than an hour. Reached out again to customer service. They had me change settings on the probe, I guess for less data transmission? Ran a battery life test on the counter. Prices no more than 6” from base, not in a hot oven, set for less data transfer. Trouble probe dead in 15 hours, other probe lasted 20 hours. Customer service states that they are within spec. Contains wrong with them. Stay away from this product, price is high enough that it should work flawlessly out of the box. Company does not stand behind their product. I really wanted this to work.

This thermometer set is great. Being able to monitor multiple probes at once is awesome. I have used them in multiple dishes in one oven and in two ovens and it's great to have the app keeping track of them all. Everything cooks as it should, never overdone. The app is easy to set up.

I had the 3 probe kit from IQ and it worked fine. The problem was that you had to keep the main unit right next to the grill and it didn’t work if you wrapped the food in aluminum foil. This product creates its own wi-fi network and can be used from anywhere over the internet. The probes are also thinner, so they’re easier to use and most importantly, it transmits through foil and lasts much longer. In addition, the probes measure and transmit the temperatures from multiple points on the probe so you get a much more precise picture of how the items are cooking. Granted, this item is expensive and will probably be overkill for most cooks, but if you really want to level up your smoking and/or grilling, this device will DEFINITELY get it done!

This unit works well . Probes are small and accurate. No battery issues on 12 hour pulled pork cooks. I m not a huge fan of having to wash the little silicone donuts provided to ID the probes but I see why they are used for system expansion with additional probes. The signal range is not long especially if cooking in a metal lidded smoker. I need to keep the gateway within 10 feet to avoid probes intermittently dropping signal. It would be nice if the app were a little more sophisticated such as recipe saving and predictive cooking. A bit expensive but after about 15 cooks it has been working longer that the consumer grade units I've tried. Temps are accurate. This is commercial grade equipment from a respected brand.

Finally a wireless probe that stays connected, holds charge through entire cook, even when smoking meats at 12+ hours in my ceramic grill. So easy to set up for the cook. Just turn on, it then connects to WIFI and then take probe out of charger and instantly connects. I have loved it so much I purchased 3 more separate probes for doing multiple cooks.

It's great when it works, the problem is getting it to work. The probes struggle to connect consistently. Every time I cook, one of the probes will not connect and requires a full re-sync. Super frustrating, and is enough of a headache to not recommend.

Longtime ThermoWorks customer here—I used to love the brand and recommended your gear to everyone. Unfortunately, the RFX wireless thermometer has been a total letdown and does not work as advertised. The wireless probes are completely unreliable. One dies after roughly 45 minutes. The other only lasts about 4 hours before it’s dead too. Changing the app’s temperature polling frequency makes zero difference—a bad battery is a bad battery, period. I can no longer trust these probes at all and I’m sad to say I’ve finally given up on the company. ThermoWorks, I’d happily update this review (and buy from you again) if you make this right.

Thermoworks has been widely viewed as the gold standard for probes and thermometers in the industry for quite some time, and so far it hasn’t disappointed. One caveat was that when I received my order and tested the 2 probes and the ambient probe, one of the probes was reading 10 degrees lower. I called thermoworks and in less than 5min they diagnosed the issue and sent me a brand new probe right away at no cost. The customer service was fantastic. After using the working probe on my first cook, it worked flawlessly, I also purchased the billows fan to pair with this setup and it all worked seamlessly. I had a Meater+ wireless probe previously, which is junk compared to the thermoworks probes. Highly recommend for anyone that takes their bbq/smoking seriously.

Just wanted to give a shout-out to the ThermoWorks support team. I contacted them with a technical question about my RFX probe and was genuinely impressed by the level of support I received. Cory was knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to explain everything clearly. The product is excellent, but the customer service is what really stood out to me. If you're considering ThermoWorks, buy with confidence. It's refreshing to find a company that not only makes great products but also genuinely cares about its customers.

Title says it all. After only a few uses, the probe’s battery no longer holds a charge and dies in less than an hour. ThermoWorks had me ship it across the continent for repair or replacement, but instead of fixing or replacing it, they sent it back as is with a note saying the warranty doesn’t apply to devices purchased on Amazon. Avoid at all costs.

Have used on multiple long cooks. The best I've found from several brands. Highly recommend

Nice system. Seems quite accurate. Great multi-probe function. The software could use with some improvements such as clear battery remaining being prominently shown. Some predictive analytics and notifications when food cooking is complete. Also charger need some sort of light indicator to show its charging and when charging is complete without the need to power on equipment and launch the app.
