This type of device is very useful to track battery voltage precisely. It provides a clear, audible alarm when battery voltage drops to your preset value. I can personally vouch that you can hear it in a model that is at 200 feet or more away (up or downgrade). It provides me the security I want to be able to keep on flying when I would normally land “just in case”. I know that when the battery is low I’ll hear it and have enough reserve to land safely. Not just for aircraft though, I use them in my surface vehicles as well. I understand secondhand That they are useful in boats. I drive rock crawlers, And the runtime is long enough that it’s easy to forget to check voltage and damage of battery.A lot of people sell these devices. I’ve bought from several different vendors and never noticed a difference in quality, or even an appearance. These are certainly as good as any I’ve tried. I recommend them for any of the above uses, or similar.

These are great for someone who doesn't have a battery checker. Though I wouldn't keep it my pocket. To keep from poking yourself with the pin, or damaging the pins. It's best to keep them in the car/truck/plane/boat you're using, or someplace safe. You plug it in the balance cable and it shows you the total level of the battery, and then the level of each cell. You can program these to go of when your battery gets down to a certain level, so you don't need to stop driving/flying to check how much time you have left so you don't run out of juice in mid air or far from shore. The only drawback to these is they don't include good instructions. Because of that, they only get 4 stars.

The media could not be loaded. I pay $13 USD for a five pack of them at a time, delivered, and I hand them out like candy to my RC buddies. They are so easy and quick and effective to check your battery condition that your batteries are always perfectly understood and very easily managed. And the alarm too is awesome and takes all the guesswork out of when to stop flying. The siren low voltage alarm is easy to hear from your plane or boat or truck etc. Its high tech and super easy to use, and very well made, and works perfectly. I first saw them on RC SAYLORS on youtube, they're crazy about them, and they know what's what.

Works great in my SCX-24 Jeep, hard to fit under the shell of a Deadbolt. I just put it under the velcro right on top of the battery and I can see the voltage through the windows. Test it for your use conditions. Set it higher than you think, and then time how long it takes to fully drain the battery after it starts beeping. I set mine so I have about 15 minutes of crawl time left, which is usually 3.4 or 3.5 volts. Once it beeps I know I can swap the battery and not have to worry about charging it immediately without damaging the battery if it's going to be a while before I'm back home.These things are LOUD! Probably great for a plane or a boat that gets pretty far away from you, but for a crawler that's always within 20 feet or so, they are ridiculously loud. I ended up trimming some ear plugs and shoving them in the speakers and I can still hear it across my yard.

I bought these battery testers after seeing them featured on a YouTube video by the TheRcSaylors. That video showed how they work and explained how they can save you much money by being able to monitor your LiPo batteries quickly and accurately. I've been using mine on several batteries since getting them. They are easy to use and do their intended job. They are small and don't weigh much at all, so can be used in a RC plane to tell when the battery is approaching the low voltage range that could damage the battery. The warning sound is quite loud, and will do the job. I highly recommend these little devices.
