INK BLACK HEART: A Cormoran Strike Novel: 6

An unputdownable nailbiter; love the different feelings the plot evokes as it proceeds gradually from one event to the next. A must-read for fans of detective fiction, and especially for those who love Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacot's unfolding chemistry.

With “Ink black heart”, JK Rowling (writing as Robert Galbraith) has demonstrated how meticulous she is, in portraying individual characters and how much she understands the nuances of social media interactions. She has woven a perfect albeit a bit protracted thriller. Sometimes thriller writers introduce a new element or a person suddenly to catch the readers off guard. Rawlings did not resort to such fraud, but created genuine surprise in this wonderful whodunnit novel. The way each loose end is tied neatly indicated how mature Ms. Rowling has become in narrating a thriller. There are some lovely sentences, some very quotable quotes and wonderful sentences in general in this novel. In spite of a enviable depth of vocabulary, Ms. Rowling doesn’t complicate sentences and gives us an easy read. Structured online trolling has become common place these days and the author skilfully reveals the murder mystery and how it is solved using the online tools the present generation is well versed with. The main drawback of the book is it’s length, but the author used this to make sure that the story is a thoroughly researched one. The romance between Strike and Robin, the two protagonists of the novel doesn’t advance much in this novel leaving the fans unsatisfied. Overall, the novel is a must read for Robert Galbraith’s fans, but a bit difficult read for the rest.

The plot is intricate, although feels unnecessary and dragged on at some points. But had fun reading this. This is must read for all mystery fans out there.

Another page turner from the genius that is Robert Galbraith/JK Rowling. Each Strike book has been better than it's predecessor, and The Ink Black Heart is no different. Complex and fascinating, it closes the problem with a satisfying end, but leaves you waiting for the next instalment in true Rowling style. If you're new to the Strike series, I suggest you read them in order if only to understand the character arcs that run through the books. Unputdownable, one of those books that you want to finish to reach the end, while also not wanting the experience to end!

Cormoran Strike has one leg blown up and we read in every book, the follow up complications. Robin Ellacort, the partner, cannot believe when Strike makes an overture and that results in Madeline. Wait, this is not the story of murder, deception, bombing, threats and what not that goes on for 1200 plus pages! The saving grace is the writing, one is never bored, and the pages merrily march along. The greatest long classical golden age mystery is Gaudy Night, a 400 plus book by Dorothy Sayers. Mr. Galbraith, or Miss Rowling can really write ( just forget Casual Vacancy) and in keeping with 21st century, plenty of four letter words and characters that always go from one sexual pot to another sexual fire. Perhaps that is the modern London life. It is really a murder mystery, with the detectives trying to find Anomie’s identity. Somehow one doesn’t mind the pages, they fly by. But forgetting the mystery it is how Robin responds to Strike that holds the reader’s attention. The basic work of the agency appears to be following people and that is made slightly interesting by the characters. But Strike and Robin rule. Life has changed from the golden age, references to loo and toilets stick their unwelcome noses. Strike says, ‘firstly’ a strict no no if one follows English grammar, but who cares. Believe me, if the book was cut down to a third, it would be the tour de force it is advertised to be. As it is a wonderfully written novel ends with a whimper, although much happens in the climax, we are too tired to care.

Oh, I am little biased when it comes to the C B Strike novel series. I absolutely love each and every book of this series. This one’s is also a really good read.

Esta es la edición que me gusta comprar por ser más "flexible" que el hardcover, sin considerar que es más barata. Soy fan de la serie y ya estoy esperando a que salga "The running grave" en esta edición y que lance el libro 8.

“The Ink Black Heart” è un altro incredibile capitolo della serie di Cormoran Strike! Come sempre, J.K. Rowling riesce a intrecciare mistero, suspense e personaggi indimenticabili in un thriller avvincente. La trama è avvolgente e ricca di colpi di scena, mantenendo alta la tensione fino all’ultima pagina. Non vedo l’ora di leggere il prossimo libro della serie! Assolutamente consigliato per gli amanti del giallo e dei grandi romanzi polizieschi.

I really enjoyed this book, love the characters. It was difficult to read the online chats being in such small font on my Kindle and I couldn't enlarge it. I'm glad I persisted because it was a book worth reading. Looking forward to the next one!

Illisible sur Kindle ou Iphone, à cause de la manière dont les échanges sur messagerie instantanée sont figurés, et ces échanges sont très importants dans le roman. Sur l'appli Kindle / IPAD horizontal 2 pages côte à côte, impeccable. Toujours compliqué ces Galbraith, un peu trop peut-être, mais j'aime beaucoup. Un peu trop de suspects possibles, mais tout se tient bien malgré tout et j'aime ça aussi. Et j'apprécie surtout la qualité et la profondeur des personnages même secondaires, et en particulier les 2 héros, toujours attachants, avec la pointe d'humour qui me fait sourire, et leur histoire commune touchante et compliquée aussi. Vraiment un excellent (et long) moment avec Robin et Cormoran. Vivement la série TV et le roman suivant.

Li uma resenha um tempo atrás tentando tomar um spoiler e ainda bem que não tomei. A pessoa dizia que o suspeito era óbvio, mas havia muitos suspeitos óbvios e ainda bem que consegui chegar até o final sem acabar cedendo a tentação de descobrir antes do tempo quem era Anomie. Apesar de ter lido o MAIOR E MAIS LONGO (1448 páginas) livro da minha vida e em outro idioma, o que piora o tempo de duração da leitura, a escrita é muito boa. Eu gostei muito desse tanto quanto o Chamado do Cuco e Sangue Revolto. Tão brutal quanto os outros, mas não tanto quanto O Bicho da Seda que foi o mais horripilante para mim.
