It's a great product. Much cheaper buying through Amazon Japan versus a reseller.

購入後１年使用した感想です。結論から大満足です。 私は硬めが好みなので、浸さず米を研いですぐ10分中火(冬は気持ち強めで夏は少し弱め)、20分蒸らしで終了です。そして炊飯器ジャーを保温にして入れ、1日1回炊くスタイルです。 みなさん欠けやすいとありますが、私の場合は手洗いなので、1度だけ手が滑って少し欠けてしまいましたが、１年経ってもそれ以外ヒビも欠けもないです 。 食洗機は、水だけで汚れを落とす食器にはダメージの強い薬品を使っているので、もしかしたらそれが原因の可能性もあるかもです。 洗剤の泡で滑りやすいので、皆さんも気をつけて洗えば大丈夫です。

It's probably the best way to cook white rice. Instructions on how to cook short grain rice are spot on. Have had great success with calrose. Rice comes out with a really nice texture and chew, and the pot keeps rice warm through out a meal. Haven't tried cooking brown or longer grain rice. I'm sure some experimentation will be needed if I branch out.

It’s so pretty, but the most important part - the rice is a revelation!!!! I’ve always cooked rice by absorption method, same as this pot, but wow, it tastes so different! We eat way more rice now, because it’s just so good. The whole house smells aromatic, just from plain rice. I reduced the amount of water recommended though, as we like our grains to be cooked through, but still separate easily!!!! I haven’t tried other meals yet, it’s on the to-try list :)

Rice cooked with this donabe came up perfect each time. Fluffy and chewy, each grain is well separated. I tried cooking one-pot meals with it. Perfect results each time. Using the rice cooked by this donabe for fried rice is fantastic, too. Highly recommended.
