I started baking my own sourdough and kept struggling with cutting evenly sliced pieces, not to mention the struggle getting through the bottom crust, so I found this item and I am so happy I did. Its simple, easy to use and very efficient. I bake the round loafs and put it down on the board (which has suction cups for no slippage) and once the blade fins it bite is cuts through the bread effortlessly. Only thing I would say to watch out for is for a round loaf, once half the piece is through the slicer you need to hold it so the handle doesn't hit it.

I hesitated making this purchase because of the price, but when it went on sale at around $42, I decided to try it out. Best decision ever! I always struggled to slice my sourdough and this machine is a game changer! My bread looks professional, comes out perfect every time. Easy to adjust the width and the suction cups on the base hold it perfectly stable on the countertop. Just be careful using it, the blade is very sharp and there isn’t a guard to protect your hand/fingers while slicing. Just go slow and steady. It will be fine.

I still use a knife sometimes, but this bread slicer gives me more even slices and a cleaner result overall. It is especially useful when I want the loaf to look neat for serving.

I really like this bread slicer, I think it functions pretty well, and the versatility of the slice size is great! It cuts my homemade sourdough with ease, and remains stable on the counter when the suction cups are used. My only real concern with this slicer is the fact that I have only sliced maybe about 15-20 loaves, and the little side part that determines the size of your slice is moving on me when I try to slice bread. This causes the bread slices to come out in various uneven sizes. I believe it is an easy fix, as there is a nut on the bottom that I think just needs to be tightened, but it was just a little frustrating. Hopefully I can get it secured and be back to slicing perfect slices once again on my next batch of bread.

Love this slicer! You can adjust the thickness with a quick turn. Handle gets in the way with the sliced bread but you just have to go slow.

Was very happy with it at first but after slicing only about 20 loafs it became dull and does not slice bread anymore. I guess I need to replace the blade. I only bake for myself and I’m disappointed that it did not last long. To replace the blade is $20 so it ends up not being as inexpensive as it seems. Is there warranty for the blade?

I make a lot of bread, and I found myself letting loaves go stale on the counter because I was dreading slicing them. I've tried both freehand slicing, and the popular bamboo slicing guides you'll find on amazon. I don't like the bamboo one at all. It splinters, the wood gets cut up with every slice (not just the bottom but the actual slats/guides too), it's slow and imprecise, it slides around all over the place. It's also a paint to wash with numerous parts, and just all around an unpleasant experience. This....I'm assuming this is a knock-off of the zassenhaus, which is imo way overpriced. Like even $200 imo is a lot for what it is imo, but it's a lot better than $400! I'm glad I decided to try one though, and I think if you bake enough bread (or even just buy your bread as whole loaves) that this is an incredibly worthwhile investment! I should have bought one ages ago! I love how fast and easy it is to slice, how easy it is to select the size of your slices, how precise it is, how fast and easy it is to clean, and imo how safe it is compared to an electric slicer! Obviously you can still cut yourself with this, but at least with a manual slicer if you do start cutting yourself, it'll happen slowly and you can stop before it goes too deep or you just lose a piece of your finger entirely! This produces such nice, perfect slices! It's actually rather fun to use! If you can swing the price, and you'll get good use of it, absolutely, seriously, just buy it!

I was rather nervous about buying this. I have used an electric bread slicer for years but they are heavy, clumsy to use and difficult to store. However this cutter is proving very good. It is well made and seems sturdy. The blade really is sharp, nevertheless a spare may have been handy. The only drawbacks are that the base is rather small to mount even say an average sized Sourdough loaf on but I am managing. Plus I really do not find the suckers on the base that useful. They stick to anything which means it can stick to where you move it to momentarily or where you store it. I may take the suckers off which looks easy enough to do. Nevertheless I am pleased with this gadget so far.

This puppy is as close to the European brand manual bread slicer for a fraction of the cost. I place it down on my granite countertop and don’t need to push the slicer down to engage the suction cups. It automatically does that and will not budge. The blade is sharp and cuts my sourdough loaf with ease. Adjusting the slice thickness is a breeze. It’s super easy to clean and operate. It also came in a day earlier than expected. If you are thinking about getting a manual bread sliced, do not hesitate to spend the money for this, I highly recommend this product if you do not want to splurge for the more expensive brand
