With a $2.00 modification and adjustments it's PERFECT!
This is the H4 In Graphite for the "Remastered" Herman Miller Aeron chair. This quality and finish makes it look as if it's a genuine Aeron accessory. Take the time and READ the instruction manual to INSTALL and adjust the headrest AFTER you've adjust the chair to your comfort. (The directions for the chair are on Herman Miller's website.) After adjusting it for my comfort, I tightened the all of the headrest's hardware a 1/4 turn clockwise to hold the settings a little better. EN doesn't recommend this, as they say the factory settings allow for easy adjustments. I agree, but I wanted it tighter than it was. I never thought an Aeron could be improved, but this headrest does it- DEFINITELY worth the $180.00!THE MODIFICATION: I had the same problem that many people had, in that the headrest would not stay adjusted for height, and there's no way to tighten it to keep the headrest from falling. I decided to use 1/4" ID fuel line to solve this. 1 foot of this product cost $2.00 at my local hardware store. This hose is reinforced inside to maintain its shape, which makes it very strong. To lock the headrest in at maximum height, I needed two pieces that were 2 3/8" long. (I cut them from the part of the hose that has no writing.) I then a piece in a vice just tight enough to hold it still while I carefully cut through ONE side of it lengthwise. Use a new blade in a utility knife and SLOWLY make 3 straight cuts, each a little deeper than the last, following the previous cut. You will end up with a sleeve that fits perfectly over the rod. Open the slit wide enough to go around the rod and slip it on. The hose will close up perfectly around the rod. You won't even see the slit. They are very stiff and don't look too obvious. Mine are on a Graphite (Gray) Aeron. If you have a Carbon (Black) chair, they'll blend in even better!Adjust the headrest where you'd like it, measure how much tubing you need ABOVE the bracket, and follow the directions above. Perfect addition for the Aeron — comfort and style all in one!
I was a little skeptical about adding a headrest to our fully loaded Herman Miller Aeron size C, but the Engineered Now Original Headrest completely exceeded my expectations. First off, the fit is flawless. It clips on easily and feels like it was made for this chair specifically. No awkward shifting or readjusting every time you move. The comfort is next-level. My husband spends hours at his desk, and since we added this headrest, his posture and neck support have noticeably improved. It’s firm enough to provide real support but still soft and comfortable for leaning back and relaxing. I also love that the color matches the chair perfectly. It doesn’t look like an afterthought or an add-on; it feels like a natural part of the design.Compared to other headrests on Amazon, this one just feels premium. Some of the alternatives look cheap or don’t line up correctly with the Aeron’s curve, but this one really complements both the look and function of the chair. If you’re looking to upgrade your Aeron with a headrest that actually works and looks great, this is the one to get. My husband loves it, and I honestly feel like it was worth every penny. My husband has been using this headrest for over two years now and it has still held up, so definitely sturdy. The height of the headrest is adjustable. The headrest itself also does not weigh a lot.

Good but just a couple of areas that keeps it from being great
From a personal perspective, I normally hold more expensive items to a higher level of standard and I consider this item rather expensive in regards to the function. Overall, I am pleased with the headrest but it could use a couple of enhancements. I normally only leave 5-star reviews but the vendor really wanted a review and in all honesty, I couldn't rate it a 5.Pros:1. Easy to install2. Matches the chair3. Provides the appropriate support4. Comfortable to use5. Well madeCons:1. Expensive for the functionality provided2. The horizontal adjustment is a bit lacking. It has significant options for vertical flexibility but has some hard to describe limitations on horizontal adjustments. I guess the best way to describe is there is a direct correlation between vertical and horizontal alignment making it a bit wonky.3. Ability to adjust while sitting in the chair. The adjustment lever is in a very awkward position when trying to reach over your head or shoulders to adjust. I have yet to find the secret if there is one to adjusting while seated.

Pricey, but works quite well and does not look aftermarket
This after market head rest looks like it came with the chair as far as color and materials. I appreciate the ease of attaching to the back of your Aeron chair. I am quite short, 5 '2", and the headrest hits just right. While some think this is a negative, I like that it doesn't lock into place to where you have to stand up and use both hands or a use a tool to adjust it. I like to be able to do small adjustments throughout the day. It is a pricey but i think it's worth it. The aeron chair really needs a headrest and this is a good one. I just wish it were less pricey.

Not HM quality, but HM price
I've been using this headrest for about 6 months and it is a decent headrest for the HM Aeron. I have a Aeron Remastered size C (large) and it fits it with no issues. It clamps onto the top of the seat back with a plastic and metal clamp that when tightened with the one tightening hex head screw, will fit securely. It seems to stay securely in place and I don't see any scratches or marks on my chair when I recently removed it. That being said, I wouldn't abuse it, as that might cause it to move laterally and scratch your very expensive HM chair. It should be noted that HM's FAQs say any modifications (including headrests) void their warranty, so be aware of that.My biggest complaint with this headrest is the mediocre construction quality and appearance. I purchased the color and size recommended for my chair (chair size C, graphite color), but the headrest is not exactly the same in color. The mesh is more gray-like and more rubbery than the mesh used by HM; the frame is also not an exact match for the color of my chair's frame and is also more gray-like. It doesn't look bad, but they are exaggerating when they say it will exactly match your chair. It will be very obvious when looking at the chair that the headrest is aftermarket. As for usability, it is easy to adjust, but what I don't like is that it rides on two metal rods to slide up and down. When I first got it, the fit of the headrest on the rods was pretty tight, so when you slid it to a position, it more or less stayed in that position. Pretty soon after I got it, however, it got really loose and now won't stay in a particular position and drops down to its lowest position when not in use. Maybe this is by design so it floats and moves with your head/neck, I don't know, but I liked it when it was a tighter fit when new. There doesn't appear to be any way to tighten up that aspect. Other aspects of the headrest can be tightened, but not that. It does include some spacers you can snap onto the rods which will prevent it from dropping all of the way down when installed, but that is it for up/down adjustment.I am also not happy with how the mesh is attached to the headrest frame. It appears they have a 2 piece plastic frame with the mesh sandwiched in between and snapped together to keep the mesh in place; maybe they did this in an attempt at aesthetics and appearance, but mine is poorly constructed so every time I lean my head back on the headrest, the plastic creaks and moans and "pops" out of alignment. You can squeeze the plastic frame and make it creak and moan and feel the frame pop out of alignment. Something isn't right with it and to me it just feels cheaply made. You get used to it and it does do its job as a headrest, but it is in no way up to the standards of HM quality in my opinion. Maybe I just got a dud; I can't return mine now as the return window is closed.I don't think this is worth paying full price for, since it isn't worth the high price without the high quality. Maybe when it goes on sale it is worth taking a chance on, if you can live with it not exactly matching appearance and being far poorer in quality than the chair.

Easy to install. Great build quality.
This headrest (for the Aeron Remastered) beat my expectations. It was easy to install and the build was solid. Holds position. Matches the Aeron chair identically. Very comfortable. Wouldn't hesitate to purchase again for another chair.

Great for steelcase gesture chair
my chair did not come with a head rest, so I attached this with couple zip ties and it worked great. very sturdy and the headrest is adjustable.

Nothing stays in place!
I was so excited to get this for my brand new chair. I slap it on, very simple installation, and sit down. The moment of truth when I lean my head back... The whole headrest goes with it. I double check the lock, and try it again. Nope, the lower locking mechanism is a joke. I have tried it in many different orientations but it bends backwards no matter what. Also the vertical adjustment is a joke. It "free[ly] float[s]" right back down as soon as a gently breeze passes by. Someone has said it before me and I must paraphrase and echo their sentiment: Don't insult the masterpiece of a chair you have by attaching this abomination.

Perfect accessory
Perfect accessory. Very high quality and feels like Herman Miller made it themselves. Color and material fits perfect with aeron chair. At least for space grey version
User
Decent but verrrrry expensive and could be better
If this was a lot cheaper I'd give it 5/5, but given how expensive it is I really cannot justify that rating. It's reasonably comfortable but not super comfortable. The adjustability of it also isn't fantastic and it can shift too easily.

Quality product - I would advice to not listen negative reviews
This review is for H4 graphite headrest for remastered HM chair. After reading many negative reviews about this item I was worried about headset moving all over the place as many described tightening up issues. Well, those who left these reviews either got a different product from the one I’ve received or must have screwed up something when assembling/adjusting this headrest to a chair. All parts of this headrest where tight enough out of the box for me. I’ve only tightened up the height position slightly to make it even more firm. If you would like to tighten up even further then you could and this would keep the headrest in one position without possibility to move it.Some reviews said that plastic caps covering the screws where hard to remove. Honestly with a bit of care and patience they were peace of cake to remove, without damaging. If however somehow you’ve managed to damage these, then guess what, product comes with a spare pair of these caps to replace. Some other reviews mentioned that horizontal adjustment (silver bars adjustment) are not tight enough. That is not true in my experience but if you still have a problem with tightness than this product comes with clamps which you can assemble on these silver bars to lock the headrest in desired position.Product quality is great. Mesh matches exactly the colour of the chair. Mash structure is slightly different but you really need to look closely to notice this. The only downside is that mesh is touching neck skin directly and while it is overall very comfortable, it might feel a bit cold, especially in a winter time. I think nice plushy pillow would do much better here but then it would not match the chair as good as the mesh. The only cons is the price. It’s a lot of money for a peace of plastic and mesh.Summarising, I am very happy with the product but unhappy with negative reviews as they were very misleading for me to an extent that I’ve almost purchased atlas version of this headrest from USA (delivery to UK would take much longer). I am glad I’ve choosen this one over atlas.
