80pt is 28mm using online calculator...28mm is 1.1 inches so I am completely confused, can you help me out?

Confusingly, a "point" has more than one meaning. In typography a point is 1/72 of an inch, but in this context it means the same as a "mil" = 1/1000 of an inch. Hence 100 points = 1/10 of an inch, and 80 points is 0.08 inch, which is slightly less than 1/12 of an inch. In metric terms 80 points is 2 millimeters. (Here's the math: 1 inch is by definition exactly 25.4 millimeters and 0.08 x 25.4= 2.032 mm.)

Are these good t make journal cover and punch holes in for the spring?

They'll make a thick one-- they're nice and solid but you'll need a pretty hefty punch for it, so if your punch can't handle a good chunk of paper at a time maybe choose a lighter weight?

How difficult is it to cut these? With scissors or exacto knife? Or small tooth saw? Thanks

Not bad with a good utility knife. Needs more than one pass but a lot easier than 100pt chipboard. I have a Carl cutter and it cuts it with a couple passes whereas 100pt takes me like 10 passes with a good utility knife.

mm. The higher the pt #, the thicker and harder the chipboard is. A cereal box is also chipboard and would be like 20pt I think and it’s pretty thin. 100 pt chipboard is about 3mm and is pretty sturdy stuff

If your looking for bookboard for making hardcover books this is not it, technically false advertising. This board is as thin as paper, perhaps good for paper crafts but not bookbinding. This is a return for me.
