Dolphin Water Pump 8080-T Water Dispenser

This replaced an electric water pump that died. This one has held up well. It takes a few pumps to "prime the system" and start the water flowing. The water keeps flowing a bit after you stop pumping. Once you use it a few times it you get the hang of it. I am happy to use a device that does not need batteries or a charge.

Ended up choosing this after researching water coolers for a week. We keep our 5 gallon in the garage fridge and now I don’t have to worry about cleaning hoses in a water cooler and maintaining another appliance! Faster flow rate compared to how long you would wait holding a button on a cooler.

The tube length does not fit my 3 gallon jugs, using a single segment only goes about halfway down the jug, and using two makes it too long to fit, however using two segments works perfect in our 5 gallon jugs. A flexible tube would have been a more reliable solution. Additionally I had ordered the pump by itself, and did not receive the spout with cap, which was my primary reason for ordering the gen 2 model rather than the gen 1 model. It also feels unnecessarily large but that might just be me. The issues aside, it works well, it's easy to clean, and the design appears very reliable. It will be far easier strapping this on and using the pump, than having to dump the jugs into a smaller dispenser with a nozzle.

We just wanted a manual pump for the 5 gal water jugs. We are trying to cut down on buying the 24 packs of water. We bought 16 oz glass bottles through Amazon & fill them with our spring water. This pumps works well. Just make sure to tighten everything every time you put it back on as it comes a bit loose. The little ring that holds the cap on at the end broke after we used our first bottle, no big deal, we just set it on the table and put it back on when we are done. I like that it's manually operated, way more portable.

So I will say that I do wish that the extensions would perfectly fit a 5 gallon while letting it touch the bottom, so that you can actually use all of the water. However, what I did to resolve this was I cut the top of the bottom extension (I cut the part that attaches to the second piece) little by little until the tubes touched the bottom of the 5 gallon. Because it needs to fit airtight in order to suck up the water, it has to be cut. I was able to do this with some really sharp scissors. And so for that, I am leaving 5 stars because a good product deserves good reviews… but I hope this feedback encourages that small improvement. Thanks so much!

We read a lot of reviews about the Avalon water bottle cooler and it stunk we returned it now what we have all these bottles of water. My mother-in-law said you have to try the dolphin. We got it in one day. We couldn’t be happier. It is fantastic. All we do is put the water in the jug and we stick it in the fridge if we need cold water no big deal we like room temperature water anyway and it’s better for the body. This is awesome I have to recommend this 1000% by the way, the water flows out so nicely with the big pump. I love it.

Works perfectly for the 4 gallon container of water I keep on the counter in my pantry! I use Members Mark purified water from Sam’s Club and this pump fits and works as it should.

You have to press the pump hard and often or hard and hold on order for the water to come out quickly. One time it was loose like some other reviews say but really I think it just needs to be tightened Tight! It works! We’ve noticed we’d rather carry multiple one gallon jugs and use those than the 3 gal that works with this pump simply because we don’t use it, it’s not convenient to pump, lot of energy to pump out one simple cup or tumbler…

Update: This is my 2nd Dolphin pump. I was so happy with the first one which I've been testing every day in the house for a few months that I wanted another one. I bought the 1st one for my airstream to have in the kitchen when not hooked up to water. I bought the 2nd one to have in the bathroom where I wanted a smaller 2 gallon jug. The pump fits and works just as well on both the 5 gal and the 2 gal jug. I've loaded a photo of both sizes so you can see how it fits. For the smaller jug I just had to saw off about 1 inch of the internal tube to fit. I'm extremely happy with the quality. First Review: A friend told me to get this because her son uses it when he travels and he loves it. It was exactly what I needed for my airstream, but when I read all the reviews I became skeptical of the quality. I decided to trust the feed back from the person I knew rather than the not to stellar reviews I read on Amazon.ca. I'm very glad I did, because I love it and it's solved so many problems for me. It arrived in good packaging, the pump quality is great and it has pumped water with a good consistent stream every time. I have not experienced anything negative with this water pump and I've been using it for everyday for several months now. I would definitely purchase it again.

Love the dolphin pump. First one I bought over 5 years ago and it’s still working. Bought this one for my girlfriend.

Our manual water pump worked for decades, but finally failed. After reading reviews for different pumps, I purchased this one because it had less negative comments. The pump arrived promptly with all the components pictured. Getting a good seal with this pump proved to be finicky and without one, the pump operates poorly—lots of pumping, the pump wheezing and hissing, and not much water coming out of the spout. Just get the seal right and the pump functions fine. The pump's rubber seal has a slight odour to it, but is not as objectionable as some reviews have made it. The spout and the siphon pipe assemble by a friction fit. There have been no issues with the spout coming off when pumping or with the bottom siphon pipe dropping off in the the water bottle. The pump appears to be of reasonable quality and it functions well enough, aside from the finicky fit. ***Just an update after a week's use. The pump takes a lot more effort that the one I had previously. Care is required when operating the pump; otherwise the pumping bulb will catch in the housing. The pump also imparts a slight plastic taste to the water, which will hopefully disappear over time. If the previous brand of pump that I had rated five stars, then I would rate this one a three.

This is the 3rd one we have bought. They last several years so there is that. They use to come with a tube brush for cleaning but this one did not, good thing I still have the last one. These work, They just always work. even when there is no power. They tend to break at the top part where the tube goes into the pumper part. That seems to be the weak spot but by the time it breaks there they are several years old and probably need to be replaced anyways. I always look for this brand.
