Can one make the lid stay open without the pressing the pedal?

Yes, you lift the black rim that fits over the top edge of garbage bag & push it back against the lid when open & will lock in place.

Can I buy just the 13 gallon insert? I bought the trash can dual-liner size but think I’d rather just have one large trash can insert.

Mine came with an insert. 13 gallon trash bags fit perfectly.

Does the 13" width include the step pedel? What is the measurement of just the can width?

The can is 11 1/4" wide by itself, and the pedal adds 2 1/4". Total width is 13 1/2". We love the can. Sharp and clean! 13 gallon bags fit PERFECTLY!
