Used the Dash Express Mini Donut Maker to make themI bought the Rabbit Creek Confetti Donuts Mix for my granddaughter, and it was a big hit. The donuts were easy to make and turned out soft, moist, and full of flavor. The colorful confetti sprinkles made them extra fun and exciting for her.The instructions were clear, and the mix worked perfectly in our mini donut maker. It’s a great activity to do together, and the end result tasted just as good as it looked.This mix is perfect for kids, birthdays, or family baking time. We’ll definitely be buying it again. A mixed bag. These taste and look okay but will stick and fall apart if unmolded too soon.
This package made 2 dozen donuts and 2 additional small cupcakes. These weren't very sweet, and the taste reminded me of buttermilk pancakes. Grade B+ on taste. Following the directions included, I prepared one dozen in a greased silicone donut pan and a second dozen in a greased dark nonstick aluminum donut pan. The donuts didn't release well from either pan when warm, and many fell apart. I discovered these need to completely cool 60-90 (!) minutes before removing from the pan. The instructions need to say this. Grade C-. The icing had an off-putting flavor vaguely cinnamon, but the ingredient list didn't mention any such spices. I didn't care for the taste, and preferred the donuts without the icing. I also needed 4 T. of milk to get the correct consistency to dip, and I needed to dip twice to cover each one. I would recommend a taste test before icing the entire batch. The icing did set up well after the 30 minutes stated in the instructions. Grade: C. The consistency of each baked donut was an outer crust of crisp sponge cake with a soft cake interior. They improved to be more consistently dense and more donut-like by the second day. Grade C. The confetti sprinkles added a pleasant appearance. Grade: A. The packaging was beautiful and giftable. Grade A+.
