Silentnight 1400 Mirapocket Mattress, Motion Isolation, Firm, Double

The small double mattress is definitely firm and topped with a quilted soft fabric. The mattress arrived 10 days after initial order (as explained at checkout) in a fairly thick plastic that was not pierced and protected the mattress from getting stained or damaged in transit. I can sit on the edge of this mattress and it not dip too much or lose its height. My slipped disc has not given me any pain since sleeping on this mattress. After purchasing at £288 I checked around to see if I could find t cheaper, I could not. In fact it seemed to usually retail circa £350-£450, hence the 5 stars. A correctly described, quality product that was reduced in price and arrived exactly when the seller said. I will update should anything change over medium to long term!

This is indeed a firm mattress, the firmest I've owned, but it is as comfortable as ever I could have expected, given that I bought it for the almost-austere firmness that this high density of pocket springs delivers. It has given me the best nights of sleep and the least joint and back pain on waking that I have had for four years (that being 2/3 of the the time passsed since I had bought my previous retailer-branded pocket-sprung double mattress brand new). I am only 5' 2" tall and obviously old enough to have retired some years ago, so it was disappointing that delivery of the new double-mattress to the required room (an upstairs bedroom ) was not volunteered on the day, although that service is included in the price. I had firmly to ask the seemingly-reluctant 2-person team to do that for me, which they then did quite speedily after one of them had to ask his colleague to get out of their van help him. It seems a pity that the customer (me) has to remove and dispose of any old superseded mattress, there being no option to add this service at a price at check-out. This is the first time that I've bought so heavy an item from a vendor which doesn't offer 'removal and disposal' as an option at a price. I paid my local Council a further approximately 10% of the purchase price of the mattress to do that, after I'd dragged the mattress to the landing's balcony rail, tipped it so that it fell down through the stairwell into the hallway, and dragged it to the front door. Nonetheless, I am very pleased that I bought this mattress.

Ok I’m writing this as I reviewed what feels like 200 mattresses before buying this one. My husband absolutely loves this mattress- I have started getting a sore back, which I think is down to this mattress when I move in my sleep and wake on my stomach. I do like it but I wouldn’t buy it now if I had of tested before buying. Mattress is what it says but it is firm. My previous one must have been medium to firm and I just find this a tad too firm. I am still able to sleep soundly however (but I could sleep anywhere on anything) it’s just my back now hurts sometimes which never happened before. I feel I lie on top of this rather than sinking in at all. So maybe if your heavier it’s great and supportive (my husband is approx 16 stone) however i clearly prefer less support lol. I am approx 11 stone so not light by any means but I wouldn’t buy this again- while my husband 100% would. sorry for the conflicting review- based on my and my husbands opinions. Basically if you like firm- this is fantastic, if you like to sink in a little even- get something else

Having had this mattress for a while, we think we like it. It is firm and seems to be really solidly and well made. Sleeping on it doesn't feel hot at all. Just to comment on a few things other users seem to have problem with: Firmness - It is a firm mattress - I am not sure about the other users experience of this "not being firm enough". So if you'd like to use a 3 star UK hotel mattress as a benchmark, this is about 20% firmer than that and doesn't really give a "bounce" when you jump into the bed. Comparing to the other foam mattress, this is definitely a huge improvement for us. Delivery - it was straight forward to arrange and we are happy with the service - but you do need to watch out for the email as they are not from Amazon, so check your Junk inbox to make sure you get them. The driver was on time, and phoned me a hour beforehand. I told him to deliver this into our flat into a specific place and it was no problem for him. Packaging and cleanness - The mattress did come in in a very dirty package though, so make sure you don't rub against the packaging! the mattress itself was well protected inside. Because the packing was so dusty, when you take it off, you have to be extra careful, as if it touched the mattress (as it was in our case), and the mattress is snow white, it gets stained easily! Handles - finally, yes, the comments on this is correct. This mattress does not have handles on the side, which is a bit annoying as it is a heavy thing to lift! All in all, good buy for us!

Up to now its looking good its very comfortable and the material is good quality well made and there is no smells. It fits my bed perfectly

So far so good! Night two of sleeping on the mattress and it's lush. Partner is on the heaver side and I don't feel him moving or sitting on th edge of the bed so definitely a firm mattress. I haven't woken up with a back ache for the past two days like I used too with my old medium mattress so that's also saying something. All round a great mattress and well worth th full price. Although we were lucky enough to get it in the BF sales

Our old Silentnight mattress was over 20 years old, I'd been saying we needed a new one for years but hubby didn't think that we did. I finally convinced him that we did and it's the best thing we've ever bought. We thought that it was because we are getting older that it was difficult to turn over during the night, but on this new mattress we are turning over so much easier. A lot of the pain that I wake up with in the morning was substantially less than it has been for years. We definitely won't be keeping this mattress for 20 years, I'll get my way next time I say we need a new mattress. We had thought that it came in a box with the air removed and that we would have to wait for it to plump up for 24 hours, but that isn't the case, it comes ready to use, so we didn't have to wait to use it, which was great. It wasn't delivered to our bedroom, just to the front door, so it was a good job that my son was home at the time to help hubby get it upstairs, after removing the old one, of course. The cat was very upset and confused. We left it uncovered until bedtime before we put the clean sheets on it, but I don't know if that was necessary or not.

The most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on. It is so firm it gives me a sore back. It’s truly awful. My husband also thinks the same. I wake up with lower back pain every morning. I have a mattress topper on and still no relief. Total waste of money. N
