In the small Central California town where they grew up, two estranged gay brothers struggle to reconnect after the recent death of their father.

Sibling tensions...
Opposites attract, but they also repulse. Such is the case initially with these two gay brothers in an engaging and well-written gem of a movie. One is the look after dying Dad, stay at the homestead, take over the family business repressed closet, the other is the whore of Babylon big City out and loud, sweary sex-bomb with attitude who returns home after running out of money and beds to hop into. What could possibly go wrong? The flashbacks to their childhood and Dad (now dead) are well handled, and I particularly liked how they show the father, despite being homophobic, was doing his best to raise the boys after their mother left them. The tension between them and the bad behaviour in a small town context of the wildboy returnee, brings their relationship to breaking point, but it forces them both to confront their demons and grow. Wildboy grows up a bit and closetboy comes out properly. The acting by the guys playing the brothers and their father was convincing, as was the supporting cast. Recommended.

Original and entertaining gay indie
Set in a small town in rural California we meet Chet played by Mark Strano of ‘Out to kill’ fame. He has just organised his father’s funeral and taken over the reins to run a small hardware store. He lives in what some would call a rural idyll and others would call ‘the sticks’.His brother is Todd played by Franki Valenti (aka Jonny Hazzard of ‘Lair’ fame and also the intriguingly named ‘Hole Patrol’ – which I am sure is about an annoying rabbit problem) who is more free spirited and has gone out and immersed himself in the World. Both brothers are gay but have chosen different paths, Chet of service and self denial and Todd of getting his rocks off and taking all the gay world has to offer. He is though a drifter and ends up home where they start to reconnect and explore their past. Now this is actually a really good little indie effort. Valenti is very believable and plays the likeable rogue perfectly. The direction is spot on from Wade Gasque and the camera work is mostly very good but the scenes that are beautifully framed and shot are let down by wobbly camera action in some of the dialogue scenes – seriously if it looks good and works then stick with it. It is an original story line too and deals with many issues – this is not ‘porn fest’ though so if that is your thing then best look elsewhere; if you like well acted and thoughtful gay based drama then there is a great film here waiting to be seen.

The gay brothers
A symposium of two brothers. The placid, accommodating and responsible older brother verses the brazen reckless, irresponsible younger bro out to experience all life has to offer against the expected norms. The acting isn't the best nor are the lines as polished; however, there is a lot to reflect on concerning their lives as kids and now as adults. The bond of brothers is both wrenching and innately connected by blood which can't be brocken; there is soo much tolerance and annimosity, yet the two seem to prevail. It feels slow at times but perseverance might just give you a chance to experience how life is endured by so many in extraordinary circumstances and expectations. No porn here just life experiences for those looking for heat.

... cover of the DVD box makes this film look like it will be some highly sexed verging on porn ...
The picture/photograph on the cover of the DVD box makes this film look like it will be some highly sexed verging on porn story, If that is what you were hoping for, you will be disappointed ..This film has a plot, a story line throughout ,and just when you think it is to fall in to a 'Small town story 'cliche, it takes a new turn , It is funny, touching, sad in places, and well acted. The plot,, Two brothers, both gay but with different approaches to Gay life, Father issues, a small town America back drop. Oh yes and a homophobic policeman ..i suppose that was a bit of a cliche, but then we all know a song about that one ..Watch it, basically its a love story.

Watchable but lacks something
Interesting story concept two gay brothers, a father who ruled the roost, a mother who left? The younger speeds his wings, the older stays behind and assumes the family business on the death of the father. Come back younger brother and a school friend back from New York to care for failing relative, tensions rise not helped by the attitude of some of the townspeople. Watchable but for me not a classic that I would recommend whole heartedly!
