ケーブルは少し硬いけれど問題なく使えました

品質も速度も安定している。色々種類があって紛らわしいので今回はぱっと見で分かる白色にした。

Thunderbolt 5 ケーブルで好印象を持ったので、Cable Matters 製 USB 2.0 、USB 3.2 Gen2 ケーブルと一緒に USB4 ケーブルも購入した。データ転送能力には問題なかったのだが、Thuderbolt 5 ケーブルに比べケーブルが太くて硬く、取り回しが悪かった。また、ケーブル被覆もブヨブヨした感じで長持ちしないように感じる。それから、Apple 製 Thunderbolt 3 ケーブルで接続してバックアップに使用していた SSD をこの USB4 ケーブルで接続したところ、すんなりバックアップが取れたのだが、次に接続したところ SSD が認識されない現象が現れた。以前、中華製 USB 3.2 Gen2 ケーブルで経験した現象なので、＜相性問題＞なのだろうと思う。幸い、再フォーマットすることで SSD は認識されるようになったが、これでは使えないと判断した。中華製なんちゃって USB4 ケーブルでは発生しなかっただけに、本当に残念である。

結論として文句がない。高性能モバイルPCに併せて使う、電源ケーブルとデータ転送ケーブルでこれ一本持っておけばいいものを求めて購入した。コストを追求すると、高い転送能力や電源供給能力を持った製品は、太くて堅くなるし、これをナイロン繊維で覆われても扱いにくい、といった製品にあたりやすい。このような製品はコンパクトに丸まらないし引き抜きやすくないので持ち歩こうという気にはなれないものばかりだった。かといって、これらの不満を解消した製品はApple純正にも準じた価格になる。ことUSB4水準ともなると品質は価格見合いであると痛感する。しかし、本製品は、品質とコストの見極めが実に高度にできており、転送能力、電源供給能力で充分な高性能を備え、ケーブル部も一般的なラバー被覆で十分に柔らかく、コンパクトに丸まって鞄のポケットに収まる。そしてまぁまぁな価格。このバランスの取り方がまさにメーカーの知見ということであろう。万人に勧められる。

しっかりした太めのケーブルです。他で断線に困ってる人はこれに変えてみては。

デスク周りの配線見直しの為に購入しました。今のところ問題ありません

1年経つ前に内部断線した。角度がつくと接続が途切れる。
