Shun Premier 8" Chef's Knife with Custom Engraving

The engraving (and knife) are absolutely beautiful, and this thing is SHARP. Like, the sharpest thing you've ever laid hands on. It has replaced pretty much every knife in my kitchen. It's pricey, but totally worth it, and it will last a lifetime with proper care. The best gift I've ever received.

i am a professional chef, we have our knifes sharpened for us weekly, with that being said i need a knife that was for my own personnel use, and did a ton of research for exactly what i needed for home. the shun 8" chef knife was it, i am very happy with the overall construction of the blade, its very sharp, it does have 3 small inclusions on the cutting edge which i hope wont be a problem down the road, it is in my opinion a bit on the expansive side but the quality so far justifies the cost. it is the best knife i own and highly recommend it , i bought my brother in-law the same knife with the free initials engraving for Christmas.

Excellent knife - stays sharp for a long period even with heavy use.

Bought this as anniversary for my husband who loves to cook as a anniversary gift and bough a desperate leather case for it. He LOVED it. Beautiful design and super sharp. Engraving is a classy touch but hard to see.

The sharpest knife I’ve ever used. I got it engraved with my initials for free and two day shipping with prime. It cost the same amount as the regular knife. It is literally razor sharp and cuts through a carrot like a block of butter. I have been a cook for 10 years and until now I have used mostly German knives.

So the knife is pricey, but my husband has used his a number of times and hasn’t stopped raving about how well is cuts and how much he loves it. My husband is a home chef and just loves this knife not sure how it would stand up to professional use but for our kitchen it works perfectly and we should have it for a number of years. Also, the engraving is very cool and he appreciated the personalization.

This knife is functional art. So sharp out of the box. The handle fits like a glove, worth every penny. When it felt like it was starting to dull a couple swipes on my cheep steel and it was scary sharp again.

Very sharp; slicing veggies is very easy. Fits nicely in my hand. A pleasure to use.
