Never owned the metal ice trays before but from what I read, these were how they are made back in the days. Decided to get one mainly for freezing other liquids like cream. I know it's not the best for freezing cream since it will settle but sometimes we just can't use it quick enough. We tried this and it worked out well overall and didn't change the consistency too much. It seems to freeze very quick. After letting it sit on the kitchen table for a few minutes, I used the handle to loosen all the cubes. Some got stuck but that's a minor annoyance. This is a good product overall. Came with little finger gloves which I never used and a small tong which I used to pick up the small blocks of frozen cream and transferred them to a small plastic container to refreeze in batches.

Now this is a substantial ice cube tray. Just like they used to be. Heavy and strong. I look forward to many years of service.

These work well. One did kind of fall apart I mean it held together but the pieces come undone and I had they took some difficulty to get them back in place and then it kept working again I guess I stressed it too much pulled it too hard when I was removing ice. But it's operational again now no harm. Therefore I'd say that they're pretty reliable and robust since I was I believe I abused it and then it just the parts slipped by each one another and it still worked but just barely the handle wouldn't go down all the way and then I got looking at it and realised it was the piece that is on top of the other the ice slots were not up there anymore and with some difficulty I got them back into place and it has stayed in place and operates properly again.

It's an ice cube tray, not much to say. I would never let a child touch it to break up the cubes--it's metal and can be fiddly. The reason for 4 stars: depth & a weird residue that remains after soapy hot water wash twice & a scrub to every exposed surface. Idk if the discoloration is due to something else, but I think it's the oil on the moving parts (used at the factory to keep it from rusting.) I think it slowly seeps out & migrates away from those pivot points, coating the surfaces with a residue. For an ice tray, it's pricey for this issue to occur. Does it make ice? Yep.

This gets one star. I bought it a few weeks ago and its already broke. Rhe handle freezes and make it vwx hard to remove the ice I will now have to look for another brand to buy.

Do it! Here’s the deal, it’s a stainless steel ice cube tray. The handle is a little tough to pull at first and then gives. No big deal. The edges of the ice cube insert are a little sharp…they should be and you never need to actually grab them. Want filtered ice in the cleanest form possible, this is the product for you.

My freezer's automatic ice maker doesn't work. Til I can get it repaired, I've been making ice. This tray is better than silicone, which is difficult to empty before the ice starts to melt and sticks together in the freezer bin. When I was a small child, ice trays were how we got ice at home. Same with most apartment freezer compartments. I had some aluminum trays that I must have given away, These are okay, but would be much, much better if the interior surfaces were textured. They are smooth, so it takes more strength to open the trays. The only way to loosen the ice is to let it melt a bit before pulling the lever. I have managed mostly not to have the cubes refreeze stuck together, once released. Bit better than twisting and punching silicone trays as past as possible before they melt enough to stick together. I bought two. They are from different sellers but exactly the same. It's going to cost quite a bit to get the ice maker fixed, so I don't plan to try any more ice trays. I will use this one despite the fact that it's not ideal.

honestly, I did not expect that I would like it this much I mean it’s an ice cube tray… but I had a big problem with silicone and plastic trays. They absorb the freezer smell so when I cleaned them, I can smell it and it makes me gag :( would this stackable stainless steel tray you get the organizer, which is great and 2 stainless steel ice cube trays so if I finished one, I clean it and pour some water and put it back and use the other while the first one freezes! so it’s ♾️, and I don’t worry about micro plastics or silicone materials with this and it’s also better than cheap icemaker that you need to clean every week because they’re so dirty! and I also like the fact that when I pour water into it, the water spread spreads evenly because the separator leaves just enough space for the water to level itself in comparison to other ice cube trays it makes the job easier and soo much cleaner.
