I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT BUYING THIS MOTOR FOR ANY NEED EXCEEDING 2 HP! I bought it to replaced the WEN 5 hp Single phase 3450 rpm motor that had worked perfectly on my air compressor for 15years. This Vevor is also ostensibly rated as a “5HP single phase 3450 RPM motor”. Both were operated through the same proper magnetic switch rated for 7.5hp. It gave me nothing but trouble, as it lacks sufficient torque to start the compressor turning without a huge struggle, inevitably activating the WIMPY thermal protection device built into this motor about every third start, so I constantly found myself with no pressure when I needed it. I bought instead the Baldor WITH EXACTLY THE SAME NAMEPLATE RATINGS. It effortlessly starts the compressor without fail every time. It weighs 60 pounds compared to the Vevor at just 40 pounds. Just buy the Baldor! Photo shows the relative sizes of the thermal protection device from the Vevor compared to that of the one installed in the Baldor.

Great price, have had great luck with Vevor products. Fit was good, was easy install on my air compressor. Saved over $200 over oem motor.

Motor was installed on a Quincy air compressor where the Baldor motor had failed. Easy install, and the motor fired right up at first ask. Installed outdoors under a shed roof. I hope it lasts me 5+ years. It cost me $150. The Baldor replacement was $700.
