UTTERLY GORGEOUS
When I first bought this DVD it was because of Ritchie Blackmore and the quality of the covers (such as "St.Theresa","Streets of London" and "Diamonds and Rust"), but as soon as I inserted the disc in my DVD player I fell deeply in love with Candice's beautiful voice (a mix between the divine Annie Haslam of Renaissance and the wonderful Maddy Prior of Steeleye Span, if I may say so)and the incredible athmosphere which the audience experienced through the whole concert ... and so I could'n help but buying the "Castle and Dreams" DVD and it entirely lived up to my expectations. But remember, if you will attend a Blackmore's Night concert, please do not urge Magic Ritchie to play "Smoke on the Water" or "Black Night"...he may begrudgingly oblige but he certainly won't enjoy it.Hopefully they're going to produce a new DVD .

This is a DVD & CD combination. You get a real sense of the enjoyment the band have in performing and the atmosphere of the live performance in Paris carries through the DVD. Nice blend of Renaissance, folk and classical played through acoustic, electric and some quite interesting old-world instruments. Candice Knight’s rendition of Deep Purple’s Soldier of Fortune sounds great. Keep finding myself singing Under a Violet Moon, World of Stone and Loreley. I am a huge Blackmore’s Night fan.

Great concert but...
I love this concert and enjoy many of the tracks on it. However, the bass is so overpowering that it spoils the enjoyment of watching/listening to this great band. It could be my surround sound system that's at fault but I don't think so as the problem exists on another system as well.

A magical evening
Fan of Ritchie Blackmore for over 35 years, I was present at this Paris Olympia show. It was a great performance, a magical concert (watch "Fires at Midnight").This DVD perfectly captures the atmosphere of this evening and the inspired playing of Ritchie and the whole band.
