AMD FirePro W5000 Retail Graphics Card 100-505635

I purchased this graphics card to set the standard for my custom computer. I use it for REVIT and Rhino. The quality left me speechless after my first use. Where has this card been all my life? SO happy to use this with projects. Fast. The biggest issue I have with it is I had to use Windows 7. The computer I had with it originally had windows 8 and would not even turn on. It requires a more powerful power cord. Mine is 700 watt. It is a bit pricey but it is professional grade. See specs on AMD website. Great buy.

a big Mistake I made is baying this Firepro card before I read alot that people complaining from the buggy AMD card drivers but I did not listen to them so I buy AMD FirePro W5000 because I use 3d software like Maya but this card did NOT Work and ho will refund me? AMD or Amazon? I buy it from Amazon.com and amazon site say"This item is no longer eligible for return" and I'm not sure where to go from here I send Email to AMD Customer Care and they reply to me and tell me Maybe I have driver corrupted? ++++++++++++++++++++++++ Your service request : SR #{ticketno:[8200618558]} has been reviewed and updated. Once this process completes restart the computer. ++++++++++++++++++++++++ how can I have a driver conflict or corrupted and the AMD FirePro W5000 is the first graphic card in my new PC?! they tell me to install the latest Catalyst 14.12 and I install it and the card did not work and I get Cool Blue screen I tried the card in win8.1 "SafeMode" and the card did not work well I send another Email to "AMD Customer Care" and they Refuse to reply to me anymore? I am very frustrated. Can I ship this Card to AMD? or they did not allow Replacement? PS: I will Update this review if I get any Help :(

bought this to use in solidworks, it was well reviewed and seemed to compare to the Nvidia Quadro 4000 but at half the price. I usually stick with Nvidia because I have never had an issue with one of their cards. this AMD card was dismal. my gaming GTX470 did better in Solidworks than this "workstation" card did. I had the latest dirvers for ir recommended by solidworks and it still performed worse than the gaming card. while using the AMD card I suffered many BSOD forcing reboot and losing work that hadnt been saved yet. reverted back to the GTX470 and no more BSOD or crashing of any kind.the AMD was returned for refund.

*** Updated **** Card failed after 4 months!!... Experienced a failure in display port 1, then signal degradation from the DVI port. My mouse started to experience extreme lag and failure to move about a day before the failure. However, AMD support has been fantastic so far, as you receive specialized service because its a GL line card. *** I primarily run ArcGIS and ArcScene 3D for mapping. I use a little CAD, Maya, Revit, and 3DS max. This card handles it all like a champ. Renders are fast and clean. I also multi-task between CS6 design suite constantly with no problems. I'm extremely happy with my purchase. I can spin entire models and renderings without any lag. Processes LIDAR sweeps and builds DEM's and contour extractions faster than anything I've seen. Great product for the cost. ATI needs to improve drivers for it, however. GPU acceleration in Photoshop is incredibly buggy. I have to turn down the GPU settings to the most basic level to avoid issues. A pro card like this should be able to run the highest settings in Photoshop without any issues.

Works great with SolidEdge ST5! Much better than games cards! Would recommend it to any professional cad user that uses solidedge!

slow and clucky poor performance when using Maya shaded view and it don't come with drivers and there is a lot of time I don't have access to the net or phone so no drivers is a bad thing but I did download drivers from the net this time

I run mostly nVidia cards. I thought I would check out this AMD card for a change. I bought (2) of them to power 6 monitors. Firstly, the AMD driver software really does not stack well compared to nVidia. AMD does not give you a good rundown of the various driver options. They have different versions of the software listed all over the place. Secondly, The Dongle that came with this card was cheaply made. It came loose and the connector is not on tight. Thirdly, one of my cards is bad. Either that or I have a driver issue. I get abrupt flickering randomly. Tried 3 different monitors. Tried different resolutions and settings. Only happens on 1 card , not the other. Bottom line is that this card is not up to supporting a user who expects no downtime. Working w/ AMD support has been a disaster. Very very hard to get an RMA; they also do not have any good troubleshooting tips. I ended up buying an nvidia NVS 510. The actual GPU power of the card itself may be good from a price / power perspective, but the other issues dealing with it would keep me away on the corporate side.

The card takes only one slot makes it suitable for compact workstation. Use it on a system like Shuttle X79 barebone, you will have a free PCI-E slot for other cards. Both the CAD and the gaming performance are satisfying for a professional card cost this little.
